Just a suggestion I found that works great. Get one of those foam squat bar pads and cut it to fit the inside handles to create cushions for your collarbone when you use the V-press for squats.
Just ordered a similar product to this thanks to your review of this. The one I've ordered however slides all the way onto the bar so can be used for rows properly. Thanks TSF
Back Widow did a really good job on this Viking Attachment. Dean builds some top notch stuff. Pause the video and compare the welds and steel thickness on the Amazon "Chinesium" disposable attachment @1:39 and this properly built/welded Viking press attachment. There is disposable equipment and equipment that will be around for generations.
+Mom-N-Pop Strength Shop thanks for commenting. Couldn't agree more. All my black widow stuff is bullet proof, especially the viking press. I still use the "Chinesium" attachment (good word) every now and then, but as soon as I can afford to replace it with some more of Dean's rowing gear, the dust will start gathering on it pretty quickly.
I order that one but got the thin version. The reason I got thin version was because iam thinking it won't be that bulky and lighter? I hope I made the right choice. I just ordered yesterday
Do you still have this attachment? Still perfect? I have just recently learned of Black Widow, have a couple pieces, one more on the way, and considering getting this one.
I do. Just used it today, in fact. It will outlive me. On a side note, I've used the titan one too. Definitely not made as well, but it does work just fine if you're on a budget
@@ThreeStormFitness Dean and I are in talks about a custom one and making a landmine to attach to my squat rack. From what I’ve gathered watching videos is that most people prefer to use them elevated vs off the floor. I hear you on ‘built to last’ grade, I’ve got a couple other pieces from him and they are so solid, so well made. Dude keeps taking my money 😄 Just learned of him recently with Home Gym Con.
@Jared Martin he took a lot of mine too! Belt squat platforms, plate swing post, trap bar, viking press, swiss bar...all real good stuff. I just made a video yesterday (been slowly getting back into it) where I make a poor man's sorinex hurricane, using landmines elevated. It take a minute to set up, but it's a lot of fun
@@ThreeStormFitness I will check that out. Only thing I have from Sorinex is a 2” pinch block I put on my cable. Been real into grip lately, having a lot of fun with it.
@@ThreeStormFitness I don’t see that video on your channel - is it up yet? I’ve not used a landmine much, so I’ve got a lot to learn about the versatility it can add to the workout.
Well if you get on the opposite side of it then you row towards your body and the attachment would work just fine with rows then too. Cause that’s how I do my single hand Landmine rows, the bar is facing behind me, ancer point is behind you so you row towards you to get the full benefit. Otherwise like you were doing it it doesn’t really make sense.
Hey Daniela, couldn't agree more. The reason I did the rows from the other side (we'll call it the "wrong side") is because it's very difficult to do them from the "right side". Unlike other landmine row attachments that position the handle close to you with the weights near the end of the sleeve, this forces the opposite configuration. It's difficult to stand in the position you're talking about because you basically have to straddle a stack of 45s to get to the handles. Hope that makes sense. Please let me know if I misunderstood your recommendation. Thanks for watching!
Are the handles the same diameter as the tube where you insert the barbell sleeve? I’m wondering if you could insert a pipe through the main tube right above the sleeve for additional weight handles.
Hey George, the handles are significantly thinner (I believe 2"), but still probably plenty of room for a stout pipe. There's are some very sturdy end caps on each side, so you'd have to pry those it somehow first. Hope that answers your question. If you end up doing this, let me know how it goes. Thanks man!
Not really. At least not as a specific exercise demo. There are tons of videos out there though of people using the Viking Press (with probably a lot more weight than me ;) ). Thanks for watching!
It does :) I've done squats with these on my collarbone (towels wrapped around the bars)... It's not my favorite way to spend my time, but it's definitely possible Thanks for watching!
Good question. I know the Titan one isn't as well made (haven't used it), and the finish is real smooth (hard to grip), but for that price, it's probably worth the minor shortcomings. This guy has a pretty solid review of it: th-cam.com/video/Vn66HIINh40/w-d-xo.html
I managed to buy a similar slide on attachment cost me £50 good thing is it slides on 1 inch and 2 inch bars .its narrower than the viking ,but has 3 padded grips ,so you can use the one central grip with one hand .Better than Viking and a hell of a lot cheaper.
I'm inclined to say no--not practically speaking anyway. The attachment itself would certainly provide a unique horizontal press variation, however, I think the barbell would be in the way. That said, I could be wrong. I'll screw around next time I'm in the lab and see if I can make it work
Random sure, but still a good question! I don't remember what I have during this video, but at one point I had a Honeywell heater a/c combo... It was a good unit, but it couldn't keep up with the volume of my barn (~700 ft2, 12 ft at the top) I currently have a wall mounted 3 panel propane heater (can't remember the brand, but let me know if you need it and I'll check tomorrow), and it works like a champ. The spray foam insulation definitely helps.
Eh...kinda serious. On one hand, it would be impractical (short of being a circus performer) and dangerous to perform this exercise with any near maximal intensity. That said, I've found a lot of value over the years in doing overhead stability work (bottom up KB presses, waiter walks, getups, light overhead squat variations, this exercise, etc) to build the healthiest shoulders I've ever had (though they still leave quite a bit to be desired). I do exercises like this for warmups and off days. I wouldn't, however, ever recommend it as a major assistance exercise... The risk to reward ratio just isn't there. Sorry for any confusion. Thanks for chiming in
@@ThreeStormFitness haha so on off days you train balancing and accuracy, great idea, I gotta try that. I mean, I would have thought you did as warm up as this seem a bit relevant for the warmup of wrist, but to train wrist on off days are great. I wanna do that and anckles.
Yeh...I'm sure the BWTG bar is a superior product, but for that price, it's probably tough to argue with the Titan. Never used it, but I'd imagine it does the job just fine.
@@ThreeStormFitness Although , I got to admit that the screw tightener is much better than the Titan one, in fact I heard it totally sucks.. If it only was 100 bucks, maybe I would consider buying from them instead from Titan..

i was thinking of getting this. How much weight can you fit on the bar with this attachment?
Just a pain ,they don't do it for 1 inch bars. All my stuff is one inch .u think they would have made them with the extra slide on for one inch.

What is it called/Where did you buy it from?
Where did you get that second rack from?
Got it from Rogue. First an ES1, then upgraded to an S2. The one featured in this video is an R4.
Can I do a lying chest press on this ?

I bought the two press bars they have the short version 32 inch i think. Great for floor presses.
I feel like I'd have to be very careful to put my face in between those awkward square handles. One bad move and I'd crush my head or face...
Dimension of neutral handle?
+Giannis Panousopoulos each of the 4 neutral handles are about 6" long and 2" diameter.
