    Great job...I think I would've put a piece of wood between the Brute frame and the tank cradle, like they do with truck bodies.

    • @BruceBergman
      @BruceBergman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd use the plastic "fake wood" for decks. It won't rot out, and more cushioning.

  • @terrycavanah8008
    @terrycavanah8008 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    The curve in the frame is called a positive camber all trucks will have that so when you put the load on it it brings it down to level and keeps the frame from stressing out thought you might want to know

    FYI, be careful using 55 Gal drums for Welding/workbench, I was using barrels same way, barrel had some flammable fluid
    Inside, barrel blew up, spread farmable material all over me, shop and yard, I survived and shop didn’t burn down
    But hard lesson to learn

    I love the attention to detail. Some guys slam their own stuff together, and it definitely shows. When you guys work on stuff, you make it look as if it could have rolled off the showroom floor like that. Makes the effort that much more worth it when someone can drive by and either go "Dang that's a nice looking unit!" or "When did the manufacturer ever make one of those?!"

      Generally truck frame rails are straight.
      It costs a lot of money to curve them, and there is not much need.
      Flat bed semi trailers have curved frames sometimes, but that's dealing with a much longer span so it's more useful.

    Bob, when cutting with the plasma, use a piece of bar stock or angle iron as a guide, set it down off set from where you want to make the cut, hold it or clamp it, then pull the handpiece along. Straight cut, no wobbles, less material for it to remove, easier to dress up with grinder.

    You ever thought about putting a hitch on the back of Brute so she can pull a dolly with the mixing trailer behind her, to the field she is working in? Saves a trip and therefore, money. From what I see of the brute, it should be able to have a drawbar hitch there with it not interfering with the boom in operation.

    Hi guys.
    Question...
    Could you not have put a HUGE tank on the brute, so it would be more useful in fire situations.?
    Surely the brute is powerful enough to carry a tank FAR, FAR bigger than the one that you have put on it.

    Thanks for another great video. This video was interesting and enjoyable. My compliments to all of you for your skills in making and designing items for your farm equipment. I agree with Bob, the new plasma welder you have is outstanding. In the video it works with ease and makes jobs a lot easier. Just great. The big brute and the new tank fitting is really looking great. Fine job to all of you. Lots of work getting all this refitted. Super video with us being along for the work. In one of the views you were getting a nice rain. Good for you. I am guessing by this time that the video is out you are drilling seed. That time of year. Go get em.
    Like Bob said: I am “tankful” that you do these videos for us to follow along. Wonderful play on words Bob. You are the greatest and your sons. Guess that is it for now. You all take care and be safe. God watch over all of you and bless you. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy from years ago.
