Wow those tires are scaring me away from them haha, and I've done a bunch of tires manually and with my machine. Kyle, you've done way more tire sets than me, but if I can share my lube of choice: RuGlyde is a game changer! I by it from NAPA here in the great white north. Goes on the drop center of the rim, rim itself and on the tire. Life is always better with good lube
I've done three 2Tracks now and they are getting easier and easier. Still tough... but man. Overall they are a great tire. Thanks for the lube suggestion! I'll see if I can't find it here.
Props for not cutting parts out to make it look easier. Changing tires, never a joke. I've always wanted to try those tires, but now, after watching you, I don't think I'd be able to fix a tube flat on the trail.
For breaking the bead, only rotate a little bit to start. This helps with those soft sidewalls. I’ve done 6 sets of various tires on my AT and the Rabaconda works great.
Great video. I’ve done several dsports and they were not too bad. I’ve got the 150mm 2track and it’s sitting there until it’s hot and I’ll let it sit in the sun and get plenty warm and then install onto t7 rim. Wish me luck! I’ve done many motoz. Several sets from many bikes and they are awesome but pricy. So I hope the tusk goes well!
Thank you for your support of the Motoz on www.Manybikes.biz I really appreciate it. I have a 2Track on there for a black Friday Deal as well as a Mitas XT+ if you are interested. Tough to mount for sure. Great in the dirt. Okay on the street, but harsh. Motoz are pricy, but they work! Good luck on you Installation.
It is! It really is... Game changer for sure. Typically I can remove the wheels for the bike, set up the Rabaconda, swap the tires balance and have the wheels back on the bike in less than an hour. That is a HUGE time saver for me!
I was a little nervous when you tied the strap off to the middle of two spokes, that you might bend them. Instructions recommend tying to the bottom stand leg and around the spoke nipple, and the spoke w/ the straightest line w/ the stand. I'm sure you know this, so watching what you did, as I said, made me more than a little nervous while you worked this helluva tough tire to mount. Wow, what a lot of work!!!! As others have said here, thanks for showing the mistakes, it's a crowd teacher.....
Yeah, I was tired. It was a long night and I was on a deadline. Rough nigh and lots of mistakes for sure. The Rabaconda works better than I made it work too... Every day is a chance to learn. Thanks for watching.
@@manybikes To be fair, I found out about Raboconda from you, and bought it and love it, because of you. Watched your own learning curve, which helped me out w/ mine. And so I send you LOTS of gratitude. Have a great holiday season!
Kudos to you for showing the mistakes, too. Changing tires isn't hard, with a Rabaconda, but there are things to remember. Those things to remember stick a little more when you make the mistakes.
Love my Rabaconda and it make changes a breeze. This was a rough night.... (a year ago) and I jacked up so much stuff I didnt want to release it... This was a real life night... and it was a rough one.
Nice job Kyle, the Tusk DSport rear tire is the stiffest and toughest tire I have ever changed. The Rabaconda makes is easier. The biggest thing is keeping as much of that bead in the drop center for sure. Ride On brother
I have been using the Dsport on my Honda since they were released. Had one flat. In November, at 37 degrees at 6pm. I decided to just ride it home instead of trying to change the tube in that situation. Tire handled riding flat just fine for almost eight miles. I imagine I could get away with the same in this tire. - Frank
Totally agree I did it in y garage my Baja no pinch tool and it was a nightmare…..off road they are ok but not great and on road the same. Flat on the trail…..forget it, I removed my tire cha gel kit when I go out and took instead some slim because it would be I possible to repair them on the trail. Extremely disappointed by those tires….cheap but cheap 😂
Inexpensive for sure. I like them in the dirt, and they are ok on the street. Cold and wet... forget it! Trailside tire repair... No Thank You! Thanks for watching!!!
A bear for sure! Was at the RMATV rally last month and watched three guys man handle the tire to get it on... Rough. Not something I want to do trailside, that is for sure!
Yeah Frank, it was rough and I am sure once mounted you could ride it flat. But if it did de-bead... getting that new tube in there would be ROUGH trailside! Or to bead up a tubeless wheel with a trailside pump... I just don't know!
I can’t imagine doing this at home without a Rabaconda or other quality tire-changing device. Makes me wonder if even my local shop can do it without running into issues or scratching my rim. Nice work!
@@backcountry4life Yeah, it was a rough one. I've done 3 since this one and they get easier. I do know two local shops that will not install K60 Scout, TrailMax Mission or the 2Track tires. None of them are easy...

I have plenty of experience mounting and dismounting tires, but these are next to Impossible
@@manybikes , I have the off road Rabaconda that uses tire irons, but now I wish I had that street version with the ratcheting duck head. That is a game (tire) changer.
It is so good! I have over 100 tire changes on mine now and I am on my second duckhead. GAME CHANGER for sure! Thousands of dollars in tire change labor saved by the $600 investment. I love it!
A hard to mount tire with an incredibly thick tube? That is a true test. Not sure how a field repair would go on a cold day. That alone would keep me from running these with a tube. Very thorough video, good job.
Another great video from you! 🥰 Don't keep your little video jewels on the camera memory card too long... 🙂 Kyle; QUESTION if I may; you mention using a 4mm ultra duty Motoz inner tube; I'm really still in doubt if worthwhile; shouldn't we try to keep unsprung weight as low as possible, in general and particularly on a front wheel (turning / steering is easier when less heavy tires + tubes that generate less centrifugal mass). So.... ; heavy inner tubes or save weight with thin inner tubes on rear and front rims ?? THANKS!
Thanks for watching! Yeah, this one was long and it wasn't too fun of a night... I was procrastinating and did not have time for it either... LOTS of reasons it took so long. I will do better at getting them out in 2025. Regarding tubes, I prefer the 3mm HD over the 4mm UHD as a general rule. If a HD is not available, I will go UHD. I always prefer Natural rubber over Butyl rubber every time. If the tire itself has a weak sidewall and is not "strong" I will opt for the 4mm UHD. If the tire itself is crazy stiff and protective, I'll run a standard or HD tube. Different choices for different bikes too... Super heavy ADV bikes I always run HD or UHD tubes. Light bikes with less HP ... I choose lighter tubes. It really depends.
Holy crap, man I was gonna get a set of these tubeless for my 1190 but hell no now. There is no way I would have been able to pop that bead without a tube
My thoughts are the same. Still need to attempt to bead it up on my 1190 wheels without tubes. I don't see it happening without a Cheetah blaster, but we will see! Tough for sure!
The Tusk 2 tracks do require more attention when mounting, and if you were trying to convince people not to buy them you did an excellent job! Obviously you were tired and it showed, but that's not the tire's fault.
Thanks for your feedback. I have mounted hundreds and hundreds of tires and these are much tougher than any tire I had yet encountered. They are great tires, but the installation was dificult. @@manybikes Yes I have mounted a set on my Tuareg, rear one twice with the recall. I also will be mounting new ones when these wear out. I only have a tire stand that I use with regular tire irons.
