We build these things in Australia. Using truck drums welded together and a small holset turbos. Start them off hot then add compressed air to get them spooling….Crazy you didn’t have a dump pipe or anything, that whole thing was glowing!

That door would probably have sealed itself after getting red hot with positive pressure... and gasifiers use wood chips.. make sure u do post cool down. It will save the turbo.. keep oil on, and turbo spinning till cooled off... cool $hi%.. love these projects.. nice work.
haha thinking a lipo battery will last long,they use them cuz they high power to mass but are a pain to manage even a bit more then lithium ion rc is lithium polymer.when racing drones back in 2015 we could only fly 3 min max normally 2,5 but we where racers
Insane video and concept! You said near the end of the video you want to drive it, I would think finding the optimal temperature and a way to hold it there via cooling system should be your next goal for the performance to be prolonged enough to maybe drive it a short distance
You should add a bit of gauze between the tank and the turbo. The loud sputtering is caused by debris being pushed into the blades of the turbine wheel and stalling it
that's one quick and effective space heater ya got there also this is THE turbo burn barrel video, everyone else edges the hell out of the turbo and it gets boring after a while

Ive never thought to use a magnet to hold things while welding, Ive always used long needle noses or long vise grips.

not bad, add a grate inside the barrel to get a proper wood burn. the air needs to travel all the way around the wood to get a proper burn.
