Hello to from Utah and great to hear about the Tusk. I've been trashing rear tires on my 990 for a couple decades now, and like you I've tried them all....almost. I just put on my 1st 2 Track rear yesterday, and look forward to running it from single track to tarmac. I've gotten similar wear patterns on my front knobs for years and eventually tracked it down to times when I had done a lot of ADV rides with big luggage loads. While I had thought I had the rear preload dialed in correctly, I'm pretty sure I did'nt and lightening the front due to the rear load was just a bit was enough to get a tiny bit of bump harmonic and mess with the front over time. Just leaving for a 2000 mile mixed trip up in Idaho and hearing your review has me even more confident that this was a good tire choice Thanks for posting!
Nice. Thanks for sharing your experience with these. I have tusk Dsport tires for my Husky 501s and love em. Was about to buy these but heard about recall. Knowing you would buy them again is useful information.
I’ve really enjoyed the Tusk 2T up front with a Dunlop 908RR on the rear (my fav). I just put 4800 miles on them both on my 2016 AT around Oregon and a good part of the Idaho BDR going solo. I’m impressed with the Tusk, still lots of life left. But, I just put on a new Tusk 2 front and rear and going to give them a go. Excited!🎉
Appreciate you man ! 👍 I bought these tires because of your reviews . Still have to mount them on my TA but I'm expecting similar performance and mileage
Good deal. I have a fresh set of 2 Track on my T7 and I am also headed to Utah on the 18th. We only got to Green River on the BDR last year but i was on my 1290SA-R. This year I will be solo on the T7. I sure hope these tires will be up to the task, I’m sure they will though. I did a test ride in the Texas hill country and they worked great. Unable to test the sand capability though.
Gonna try a 2track front with waypoint rear on my klr. It's super squirrelly in gravel with the shinko 804/805s on it currently at 30psi, may try playing with pressures but I doubt it'll help
Funny enough, I used to be a huge fan of that shinko, like to the point I wouldn't use anything else, about 4 years ago I had some issues with the set in the traction department, 2 years ago I tried again on my BMW GSA, I have the same exact issues you talk about, they were very unpredictable even in gravel, so I left that brand all together, they're okay tires if you just need tires however
@dimsyadventures yah they came on the klr when I bought it, it's an 05 probably about 70% life left on the front and maybe 30% left on the rear. The road I have issues on is just your standard forest service road with light gravel on top of hard pack and it's all over the place, glad to know I'm not crazy and it's likely just the tires, it sucks because they do so good everywhere else especially on pavement and hard pack at highway speeds
@@dimsyadventures I checked the front and rear tire of 2track and waypoint and they are about the same weight rating. I've got my waypoint on my t7. I will test them, looking for a cheaper alt to motoz tractionator/dual venture.
@@xXRedEyedStrangerXx yes, waypoint for front tire and 2track for rear. The 2track are super heavy, so maybe they are more heavy duty so I might try a front 2track on my old t7. and keep the waypoint on my newer t7. thanks for the reviews!
@@TheFoxyt2 I’m not so much of a fan of the tusk front so I will certainly look into that. I do like the stiffness, also like the Mitas Dakar, want that puncture resistance and rugged carcass I can ride home on a flat with
Good advice on trying different things w/ set-up w/ new tires. I purchased some Dunlop Trailmax mission tires - thought they were complete garbage! Speed wobbles any time I went over 90, didn't handle well on or off road. Eventually realized most of the problems were due to not having suspension set up correctly, running too high tire pressure. The Missions still aren't my favorite tire, but I can see where they would have their place on a long trip (home to Arctic circle and back) etc. Side benefit, I learned how to properly adjust my suspension!
Good to hear, it's a hidden "feature" many don't bother trying to fix, or don't know suspension isn't just how comfortable on your backside is over bumps 😆
Fairly similar, one may do a touch better/worse in certain conditions but not enough to matter. If one was to ride technical offroad, Motoz may offer more, but realistically who buys a big bike to ride hard single track type stuff alot Some claim big miles from Motoz, I never got over 5-6k, except GPS where I got around 8k from a rear

Great review covered all the topics, very clear into the point.

I try to be short and informative when I do review, thanks for the support ☺️

Hey no problem, glad to help!
I've been riding in Utah twice(on the enduro trails), its one of my favorite places on Earth... Enjoy
Dimsy, great review, I'd have to agree 💯, for the price, these are my UNICORN 🦄tires! Good luck in the sand, steer with your FEET! Safe travels..

I just put on the tusk waypoint tires. I think they are a bit more aggressive than 2track.
They are quite similar, just designed for lighter bikes.

If you’ve ran alot of tires…how do they compare to the Mitas E07. This tire, and the Mitas E07 is my choices✌️
Which e07? They make a few models, if it's the 50/50 tire, it's not comparable to 2track since it's a much more road happy tire
The older version with the smaller lugs
@@toddbenfield6546 complete different style of tire, would be better in road but that's it probably
