I've been a client of Poole's since 2003. I've never seen this much of the process before because I'm not in London often. It is really great that you're showing what happens in the shop. To date, this series is your best content. And Simon, et al, are wonderful to work with.
you really must do more series like this. I knew the work involved in making a bespoke suit was so intense and so skilled, but you can just *see* the sheer concentration on the striker's face as he struck the cloth and cut it.
Kirby, this is some of your best work. This episode was as good as that ASMR video with Dominic Casey. It conveyed the intricacies of a bespoke suit and the often undervalued skills required to create such a garment beautifully. Congratulations to you and your team. I think I speak for all of your subscribers when I say that I can’t wait for the rest of the episodes.
Jordan thank you very much for saying so. It does mean a lot to receive kind words from you all, after putting in a lot of hard work to show off the beautiful artistry of these craftspeople.
I must say the production value and cinematography of your videos have increased by leaps and bounds as the years go by...the behind the scenes of bespoke garment making allows us to appreciate the work and craftsmanship much more than just being present for the fittings
Simply awsome documentary. I have no affinity for hunting and little knowledge of Scottish traditions but nevertheless a huge respect for tradition and outstanding craftmanship. This is a great promotion of bespoke tailoring and cloth making. Kudos!
Great series, this will be an eye opener for outsiders, newcomers to bespoke world. Even the regulars can look it from different perspectives, taking a look at the work of other tailors, rather than strictly being orthodox and stick with the usual bespoke tailor for decades, when there are equal or even better talents and houses around, that they may not have heard about or paid to much attention.
Can only admire the effort put into these videos! They put much of the work by commercial and national TV companies to shame. My subscription was certainly well earned.
Wonderful look into such rich tradition. Even though I may ever have enough money to get a bespoke suit the workflow, steps and intensive care of everyone involved is just astonishing to see. Kirby, thank you for giving us the opportunity to peak behind the blinds.
Having done clothes making myself, and I think you mentioned doing it yourself in the past as well Kirby, you must surely agree with me that while drafting and cutting the fabric looks very relaxing on camera, in reality it's very stressful because every line you cut is permenant and you fear you have cut the wrong line xD. Atleast in sewing you can always unstitch a mistake.
Weather its cigars or walking tours you're videos are fabulous, this, however, for a racing, fishing, outdoor lover, are you're best videos. Fantastic!
I must say, the filming and documentary of the craftsmanship is fantastic at this channel. It has come a long way and it has greatly improved. It’s an absolute joy to watch your films, Kirby.
Kirby, this is the most interesting and informative video. The videography, editing, and narration is incredible. I am enjoying this journey immensely.
Thank you for a tailoring masterclass in padstitching and the proper way to make tailors’ tacks. I’ve watched various videos on YT etc. However, this is excellent: so clear, even though worked in real time. Absolutely fascinating and very appropriate as I’m starting to make a tailored jacket (female!). I will say that suiting fabrics are better behaved to cut than many. For example, dressmaking viscose (and no, a rotary cutter doesn’t help!)
The fabric is beautiful. I noticed the plaid matched great at the shoulders but wondered about the sleeve not matching at some point in the front. Interesting feedback on this. It's also interesting to see how even the best bespoke tailors in the world allow for 1-2 fittings. My sewing is not good enough to be able to mark the changes required, then pull the garment apart and make the changes. The suit will look fabulous on Kirby.
I dont know if I missed anything, but the cloth you has chosen at this point looks like it would be great for you. Not sure why but I am now hooked to see how it works out. I appreciate your conservatism and this is a serious step for you, but I think it will work out well.
What an amazing series this is Kirby, you've out done yourself with these! The music you chose is superb too. at 3:27 We Dream Of Eden - Plant your Fields 07:00 Corals Under the Sun - Sivan Talmor and Yehezkel Raz 09:40 is Continuance by Yehezkel Raz. And so nice to finally hear an American call trousers trousers instead of the very incorrect "pants" Bravo!
Great series Kirby. You are probably aware that Henry Poole invented the tuxedo or dinner jacket. It would be great for you to commission a bespoke tuxedo made by the tailors at Henry Poole. It would also make you look very much like the next James Bond.
This makes me want a bespoke suit or two... Not that I’d wear them often. Maybe once or twice a year, of not every 2 years. EDIT: I always love seeing behind the scenes, making of etc. Engineering feats are my favourite. Seeing how people get down and dirty for mega repairs is admirable. Seeing this makes me appreciate proper men’s clothing and the trade of creating it.
Noticed that some of your cigar videos (such as the London cigar lounges) no longer appear or seem to be unavailable? Can you give a bit of an insight into this and whether we will see those again? They were such an enjoyable watch. Thank you!
One of my favorite series you have done, how many episodes are in this series? I can’t wait to see you figure out which shotgun you will be using and actually on the hunt
Thank you very much Samuel. It is hard to produce this content quickly, so like you said, we do need a balance of some more simple guides etc, to allow us post production time on these sorts of videos
Another beautifully filmed video, Kirby! I cannot wait until you get to the episodes with Purdey. I'm not much of a gentleman myself, but having a long standing love of classic firearms I have always said that when I finish my current financial obligations, I want to commission a firearm from the greats like Purdey, Rigby, or Westley Richards. Will you be doing a bolt action rifle as well, or is this purely a wing shoot?
For this shoot, we only used the side by side shotguns, as it was just driven bird shoots. Purdey has an incredible collection of bolt action rifles, one of which you can see me holding in the intro to the series. However, we only looked at them and discussed for a short while.
Believe me, we want to! That is why we need things like Patreon though, and support from these incredible companies, like Jaguar Land Rover, as you mentioned.
Thanks for this channel, Kirby, the information and quality is priceless. This is a general question, not directly related to this video. I'm studying to be a high school history teacher, and I'm starting to think about how to dress for my future career. I want to be comfortable and not too stuffy or intimidating, but I want to look and feel the part. Any advise? Thanks!
Thank you Kate. There was actually 2 estates we shot on, which both have the same gamekeeper (an amazing gentleman called George, who is featured later in the series). The 2 estates are called Craigsanquhar Estate and Birkhill Estate.

More to come!! This is just the beginning.
If you are not often in London, how do you deal with the fittings?
@@johnnunn8688 I have my fittings at the trunk shows Poole's has. They travel periodically to various locations around the world.
@@TH.W, thank you. It seems that every day, is a school day 👍.
@@johnnunn8688 You are most welcome!

What a spectacular series. Beautifully produced! Can't wait to see what's in store...
Thank you very much Matt. We worked very hard on it, so I am glad you are enjoying it.

Absolutely!
Watching the process is incredible. The pride in the craft is apparent.
Your contents have always been wonderful, but this particular episode is the best in my opinion. Thanks for all the efforts.
Wow, thanks!
Watching the marks being chalked up was like watching ballet. Beautifully shot.
Thankyou Jaguar for sponsering such a daring series and making it possible
Fascinating. Hats off Kirby for showcasing the intracacies of traditional bespoke tailoring. I look forward to the next episode. 👏🏿
Amazing series, you know it’s my favorite! Amazing to see this in real life and watch you in action at Poole! Looking forward to the rest! 👍
This is outstanding work , makes me proud to be English . PS Kirby for a Texan , you make a dam fine Englishman !!
Couldn't agree more..
I could watch videos like this all day!!!
From your storytelling, to the cinematography; this is absolutely top notch.
Weather its cigars or walking tours you're videos are fabulous, this, however, for a racing, fishing, outdoor lover, are you're best videos. Fantastic!
I love this journey of finnesr clothing and especially how a tradition taking care of a well bespoke suit, thank you for bringing this episode

You are far too kind Alex. I hope you keep appreciating it all.

Fantastic. Hopefully we will get to see to hunting videos. Always wanted a British "Best" gun, especially a shotgun made by either H&H or Purdey.
What a great series!!
Wonderful documentary, Kirby - hats off to you!
It's about time! Can't keep us waiting like this Kirby!
Some people may look upon this and think what a waste of time, I myself see a work of art, great work by all.

Excellent content Kirby!
Great series.
Wish this was bit longer. Got pulled into it only to end unexpectedly. Looking forward to future episodes.
We’ve got plenty of additional content that’s being edited up… this will end up being a 12 or 14 part series.
Can"t wait for the next episode!
Every Saturday!
Hello. Well done.
Truly wonderful, Thanks Kirby.

Agree with others - to date, your best content. Don't get rid of the guides, but balance with this type of content.

Hello from Scotland! 🏴 this is a really cool series, and super well produced 👌 Which estate are you shooting at?
Thank you Kate. There was actually 2 estates we shot on, which both have the same gamekeeper (an amazing gentleman called George, who is featured later in the series). The 2 estates are called Craigsanquhar Estate and Birkhill Estate.
What is this music it's phenomenal
👍🏻
Every time he says bespoke take a sip of your scotch.
I’m hammered.
Scatland 😁
this is netflix documentary type of content
Thank you very much!
2nd! Wait maybe 1st?! 🤔
Client facing area - finest quilted leather wingback chairs. Staff only area - cheap office chair almost completely destroyed. VERY british haha
the music is disturbing then Kirby is talking
Super car super gun super man super suit a very verbackground good player
I must be that the black lady basting the garment is a Nigerian.
I wonder how much money Kirby made off that Land Rover ad... 🤠
Free rental… wish they had supported us more. But nice addition to the partnership and great addition to the series…
3 different.
I will never use Remitly.
This feels like a meme
