  • @nedrobinson7490

    Compare this Rod Bramblett’s call of the kick six. It’s just not even worth discussing. UT’s biggest win in probably 2 decades and Blob Kesling can’t even give us a memorable call worth listening to even once more. I’m all Vol, not an Auburn fan, and even I have listened to the kick six over and over because it captures the visceral sense of excitement and sheer joy, the overwhelming emotion of the moment. It’s truly one of the greatest calls in the history of world sport. This moment wasn’t on par with the stakes of that moment, so it’s a bit of apples to oranges, but this moment deserves so much better than this. Laying out and just having Grown men shrieking and uttering unintelligible exhortations would have been better than this, as it would have more accurately captured the emotions and the scene of wild delirium inside Neyland at that moment.

    This is just a painful reminder to me that John Ward is no longer with us. Gone are the days of watching the game with the sound muted and listening to the radio call. I get Bob tries not to "overdo" it and tries to separate his commentating style from John, but had it not been for the crowd noise in the background and I was just listening to the game on radio, it would have GREATLY taken away from the moment for me.

      He sucks as a radio play by play announcer. That's why people don't like him. It's not complicated. John Ward never "lost control" he was just really good. Way to misrepresent people's dislike of Bob suckling.

    • @soupornaut42
      @soupornaut42 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@us-bw6hg How? I can follow what's happening on the field just fine listening to him. Isn't that the job? Lemme guess you'd rather hear Gary Danielson throat the whole bama team?

    • @Vol2169
      @Vol2169 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, Bob Kesling does his job and nothing more. He does about the same thing that the public address announcer does in the stadium...... down, distance, run/pass by (fill in the blank), tackled by (fill in the blank)...... I could sit outside the stadium and listen to the PA guy and crowd and get more from it than Keslings broadcast. He basically is a monotone machine.
      I agree that we do not need someone that yells and screams all the time, but a little excitement to match the atmosphere of the game would be nice.
      After John Ward retired they could have gotten Mike Keith. Most Vol fans would agree that he would have been a much better pick than Kesling.

    The most important takeaway from this game is that Ohio State continues to live in infamy, with the only double Heisman winner. So long, Bryce.

    • @Void-by3ti
      @Void-by3ti 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know Bryce put up heisman stats this game, right? Over 450 yards and his best QBR all season. Go root for poverty Ohio State until they lose to Michigan 2x in a row, or manage to make the playoffs again to get embarrassed once more. Alabama is the program Ohio State tries so hard to pretend to be...
      Bryce Young will be competing for a national championship this season, Ohio State will busy be pretending they won one when they beat garbage ass bottom feeders.
