Breath of life used to absolutely deserve all the hate, but honestly now since they made some changes to it, it's a really solid item. It takes way less time to use and if you time things perfectly you get an invincibility shield and revelation beams in addition to still being able to use it for other things. I was on a massive struggle bus run and decided to take it and it was honestly the only reason I lived.
"Interesting, but low damage run." Not a great start today in terms of stats, but at least we have Gimpy! We got PhD nice and early, which will hopefully provide some stats for us. The stat upgrades weren't great today. We saw a load of disappointing Item Rooms, as well as Angel Deals. Our tear rate was taken care of, but our movement speed was middling, and the only damage upgrade we saw was Immaculate Heart. At least we found Red Stew in the shop to tie us over for a while, but as we headed into the Womb, we were looking a little struggle bussy. Luckily with Humbling Bundle, we have a lot of HP generation. With that HP, we were able to take a skip from Womb 1 to the Dark Room, and an Emperor Card to the Lamb. Going over to Jasonator53's Repentance Eden Run Dunk Rating, today was weird. Our only damage upgrade (and our only tear effect) was Immaculate Heart. We had a build more catered to dealing damage with bombs than tears, and that's all we used against the Lamb. Our only real upside was that we had a good tear rate and good HP generation, and thanks to that we were able to skip the really hard parts of this run. I can't overlook the sheer lack of damage upgrades, but this run wasn't horrible, so we're rating this a 4.

Question of the day: if you could go back in time and play any version of Isaac for the first time, what version would it be? For me it would have to be the original, so many memories with that game.
I played the original on my grandmas pc (she was highly religious it was like an act of rebellion 😂) because my pc at home was not working anymore and we didn’t have the money to buy a new one . Good old times
A reroll machine in boss rush is basically an A tier item at least anyway. I think having the bosses drop a boss item every 3/4 waves would incentivise people actually doing the boss rush and be a decent reward for getting there. Angels rooms should just have an absolute minimum of 2 item pedestals with a highest chance of 3, then a lower chance of 4.

Don't know if anyone said this yet but - Gimpy was actually paying out in dividends all run allowing you to do sac room shuffles in the first place with its other, lesser known, passive of making enemies have a percent chance to drop half hearts when defeated.

But since i've been watching you for some years now, and rarely miss an episode, i've somehow feel like i know you, like some buddy from a while back, even without any previous conversation. Not trying to be mean, but why, when it comes to the bag of crafting, you turn off the mod because it's "the way the game is supposed to be played. When it comes to spin down die, you use the mod to get extremely broken, even though it's not how the game is "supposed" to be played. I'm sure the obvious answer is BoC is boring and takes to long to craft with the mod, spindown die is just fun with the mod. Just seems hypocritical when you do some things because it's the "right way" but others when it greatly benifits you. I don't actually care though, enjoy your vids.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the angel room item pool. Most items are fine, and reasonably decent, and free too. There's a bunch of filler items in the devil deal too. The only real reason going angel is in general, not worth it, is that if you're unlucky, you may not get one until floor 5. I think an angel room should be guaranteed on floor 3 if you skip the floor 2 devil deal (or on any floor after the one you get your first devil room on). The issue with angel deals isn't the item pool, it's their low frequency.
15:55 i always think of issac as a sort of anti-game. its the same kind of fun as kaiso mario, issac will fight you and tease you, and kick you when youre down. but one day you will win a run, and youll lose again, time after time, and youll win again and maybe twice in a row, youll learn that some items are really good, some items are bad, but most are pretty okay. and youll learn that some enemies are just unfair.(looking at you trites, hoppers, f'ing ragman) and one day youll realize youre winning. quite often. and youll be proud.

What does PHD have to do with experimental treatment exactly? Experimental treament will raise 4 stats and lower 2, the only item that can prevent this is Libra. It's not an experimental pill where phd removes the negative effect.

For Boss Rush I think a way to make it worth it would be to just make it so you can pick up all the item pedestals that spawn.

What does PHD have to do with experimental treatment exactly? Experimental treament will raise 4 stats and lower 2, the only item that can prevent this is Libra. It's not an experimental pill where phd removes the negative effect.
