    Great video! I think you can easily make a 3 part for this video. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, going into different cultures/races food on each meal.
    Breakfast
    Malay: Kuih-Muih or something more heavy, Nasi Lemak/Mee Soto
    Indian: Prata or Thosai
    Chinese: Kaya Toast + Half boiled egg
    just throwing some ideas haha 😁

    I am clueless how you could have gone through that much food in one day! Haven't eaten in Singapore in about 8 weeks, and I'm jealous! I don't care for the black pepper crab myself, the pepper dominates everything, but the the chili crab - it is literally worth the trip there alone! I make a fantastic version here in the US, and I've never thought about adding curry leaf to the initial spices. Can't wait to try it and to get back! Singapore, I deeply love you folks. Marion, you haven’t eaten anything that’s not the same run-of-the-mill comestibles like those shown in this video, until you have tried, for example, ayam (or babi) Buah Keluak in some the Peranakan (Baba & Nyonya) restaurants in Melaka (my hometown, though I am not being provincial here)! Even a renowned French chef (don’t remember his name, sorry) waxed lyrical after he ate this dish for the first time, stating that this is one of the best dishes he had ever tried in Malaysia (among a couple of others, like Tamil Banana Leaf Rice and Nasi Lemak)! Though, you might be able to find this dish - the piece de resistance of any Peranakan meal - in the Peranakan restaurants in S’pore as those running them could also be descendants of Baba & Nyonya folks of Melaka, whose forbears emigrated there decades ago! The Chinaman don’t rule the roost in this Nusantara region!

    • @301250
      @301250 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kaiserlow652 >Needs qualification here. I have two sets of cousins of Chinese descent (all born there in S’pore) whose parents shifted to S’pore from Melaka in the 60s. Amusingly, cousins (from one Aunty) disdain - even haughtily dismiss Malay & Indian food, with that characteristic arrogance S’poreans are known for, as inferior and claiming that only things, including food, of S’pore Chinese provenance are the best ie. superior! Conversely, the cousins (from the other aunty), are rare exceptions to the rule: revelling in every ethnic cuisine there and are very humble S’poreans (an oxymoron?) also!

    A small correction on the Lor Mee was originally yellow flat noodle “ Not egg noodle as he claimed “

      erm however yellow and however flat, it is still an EGG noodle. making the disnction from rice or wheat noodles
      pls refrain from correcting others when u need correction yourself

      @@riptide101LOL, trust an idiot to try to "own" others and fail miserably.
      The typical yellow ghee noodle does not contain egg dude, what a moron.
