    Thinking about getting an Eagle One, so it was great to see you unbox and set up. Very straightforward. Thanks!

    Thanks for the video! I’ve had my Eagle One for about 7 years now. I’ve had excellent results as supplied for stationary operations from my RV. (1/4 wave on 40m) As others have mentioned, you can get good results if you have it attached to a large metal vehicle, or a substantial counterpoise. Right now I have the Eagle One deployed in my back yard as a 20 Meter End Fed Half Wave vertical using a 49:1 matching transformer. I tuned the length of the wire element to resonate on 20, 15 & 10. With the built in tuner On my 7300, I can operate just about anywhere from 14-29MHZ, and As an EFHW it works surprisingly well without any radials. The Eagle one is a very versatile and portable piece of gear. it’s definitely worth having one of these in your antenna collection. 73.

    Good video. I’ve had pretty good results with my Eagle One vert over the years, and I offer two tips to maximize. First, the counterpoise makes the antenna. In one installation I clipped the ground lead to my/my neighbor’s chain link fence, and it worked really well. Second, feed it through an Unun. I bought an LDG 4:1 Unun, and that also improved the performance. Good luck, 73

    I have been operating with an Eagle One since 2016 and have been extremely impressed with the antenna. I mounted mine on a repurposed Dish Network satellite dish pole and saved the price of a tripod. Your contacts will improve by adding ground radials. EO recommends 31-foot radials, but due to my HOA lot size restrictions, I use only three 16 footers and have made contacts around the world. Thanks for the video.

      Gary thanks for watching. I'm actually using the truck frame as the radials. The antenna works great. Since I made the video I've purchased an external tuner for my 991a and have had great success in my activations. That's an awesome idea using a satellite mount for home ops. I'll have to try it out.

    My Eagle One rocked today on 40m. Made 50 contacts in 45 minutes but I was QRO at 100W. Thanks for making this video!

    Very nice video. I liked and subscribed. I have a Jeep Wrangler and have tried HF mobile in the traditional manner. I have used a Tar Heel and also a Yaesu ats30. Both antenna's work well, but grounding in the Jeep is less then good. I've found that while driving and trying to have a QSO is not great. Some static, lots of QSB from moving and I end up just shutting it off. My wife and I have talked about it and concluded that it would be best to use the radio when we take a break from driving. That way, no motor and no moving...no static. Much better. This video really opened my eyes to what is possible. I feel that having a setup like yours will offer a pretty terrific ground through the hitch along with the grounding strap. I'm going to order the Eagle One Monday morning. The rig in the car is an Yaesu FT-857. I think it'll work great. Thanks again for sharing you did a good job. 73 de Jim W1JT

    Good start video. Remember your Brownie camera instructions (maybe you aren’t old enough to have had a Brownie camera) to always keep the sun behind you. The color and visibility of your video improved greatly when you swung the camera around so the sun was behind the camera. When the sun shines into your lens it degrades the color and visibility. Audio was good. Keep on keeping on with QRP and your new antenna.

    Good job sir. I like the fact that this antenna is easy up, easy down. 5 watts or 100 watts, make the best with what you have. Ive heard other POTA operators turn into POTA hunters during thekr frequency lulls. Keep up the good work. KI5IQE

    Great video.. How comfortable do you feel.. long term.. operating in a wind like you had that day..? I kept thinking.. How would I add a set of paracord guys.

    • @haydenfoy3
      @haydenfoy3  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for watching. So far I have not had any problems with the wind. The antenna mounts the back of my truck solidly. My primary use for the antenna has been for portable ops. If I were to have one mounted at home I would probably consider putting hose clamps around the joints to help prevent collapsing. The clamps would also help in guying the antenna as well. Eagle one also sells a tripod mount that spikes into the ground for a solid mount option.
