For those who are wondering: 1: To join the path on the owl's eye lines: select the anchor points with direct selection tool (A) then right-click -> Average then right click -> join 2: Create only one side (line + eye) then group then use the copy option in the mirror panel. It's faster and it's easier to maintain symmetry after when moving the object. 3: To make a perfect triangle : Select the star shape and while maintaining ctrl or cmd press the down arrow till you reach a triangle. Maintaining shift at the same time will put the base down flat too. 4: Maintaining shift while creating the circle makes it perfectly round. Hope it helps.
This tutorial saved my life! Not even for the actual logo part (although they are lovely) but simply for learning how to group multiple strokes and then use pathfinder to properly combine them! I am only learning and could not find this anywhere else! Was doing my head in ! Thank you so much for this
How to make owl beak pointy (Join two arcs) Learning this for the first time and I feel like this tutorial missed a step. In order to make the (2) arcs meet together in a point *the two arc end points that meet in the middle of the owl need to be joined*. To Join = Select the end point of the (left eyebrow) path with the direct selection tool (A), hold shift and select the end point of the right arc (you might select the owl head by accident, if that's the case only select the owl head and lock that object (ctrl+2) object>lock>lock selection) then hit (ctrl+J) to join the points or go to object>path>join. Once joined you can select the anchor bezier handles to adjust the sharpness. I don't know if this is the exact way to do this, but it worked for me
Thanks a lot, Im from Ukraine and I watched a lot of videos made by our designers but no one did that as good as you do. Even language barrier didn't work now. I understood everything. Just keep goin you're doing it so well
Honestly, this is the first illustrator video that I could follow and create a logo that I’m happy with. Thank you, make more videos on simple designs.
This tutorial was so GREAT! I learned a lot from this video. I also wanted to ask this: When you use the tool "Text on Path" the text will follow the circle, and on the bottom of the circle the text stays upside down. I saw a picture of a logo I want to recreate where the text when it gets to the bottom of the circle, does not stays upside down and still follows the curve. How is that done?
Its a very late answer, but you can choose in the options of the text-path-tool if you want the text to be readable from above or below the path. You can then add an offset to the text, so it is placed above or below the text (offset) and going from right to left or left to right (options in the text-path-tool)
Very good video! Just a point of view! If you can slow down the way you explain it Because, it is taking a little time to find the icons. . Excellent teacher. I am going to do to my logo now! 🤝
This video was SO helpful! Could you make a video for a more luxurious business? Like wedding planning, wedding photography, wedding videography, that type of design!
This video was so handy as I’m currently thinking about starting digital drawing. I’m not sure that I can afford Adobe and maybe there’s a less expensive app for finishing my digital logo. Either way, super helpful!
Can someone tell me what's the difference between professional and amateurs logo? I'm first years graphic design student. Tq Like when you see a logo and straight away you knew that's amateur.
On the section of the video where it explains how to ''unite'' the logo(around 13:30): when I click unite the circle becomes filled with grey. What am I doing wrong?
Before you group the elements, make sure that the circle has only a stroke, and that the center has no fill. Then move on to the group, then outline stories, then unite. This should take care of that problem.
Wow. Thank you so much for this tutorial. You managed to pack so much useful information into such a short amount of time. I've taken notes and made my own logo (a much better than one than the first I attempted before I watched this) :)

How do you download Adobe?
@@joshmuruga6142 torrent, bro :)
Your accent and voice is so kind. Makes watching video super easy.
Instead of copying, pasting and then going to the reflect tool you could just go to the reflect tool and copy and paste it all in one step.
"Create Copy" button in the Reflect dialog.
