    Since each individual human has variations on arm strength and its generation should the defensive training routine and the spacing of it be based on their individual ability to obtain the ball first and then focus on their spacing to deny offensive movement?

    It's good but you don't defensive slide on a close out. You sprint stay low and chop feet. Also when you help turn hips sprint to the help spot stsying low watching your man while you watching ball.

    32:05 supposed to jump to help and who would rotate on skip, or pin down and skip or pin down dribble at and skip. I need much more info about rotation in that situation to agree on his teaching points,. I see too many option the become available on weak side with proper spacing. Top of the key shot seems wide open on pin down, roll strong side, post up and making big time miss match all of it in my head making this concept look weak defensive move without extra data and scouting.

    50:00 coach is wrong on the rotation instructions...since the exchange occured on the weak side, the bald guy should cover the baseline drive, according to what he teached previously...

    18:45 Needs to show more respect to players and not be so aggressive and critical when explaining. Players often can’t see mistakes until they’re shown film of their mistakes and get to practice in slower speed. Speeding them up and yelling just causes confusion and bad form/technique. Just because you show an example doesn’t mean they understand. They have to also get reps.

    • @mdaxe
      @mdaxe 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      To deny ball properly the whole five guys on field hast to be lightning fast and move like a good oiled mechanism. Even then the offenders could defeat them with fast cuts and smart screens. Imagine pick and roll situation - offence does that and this defence immediately makes more sense than denial on pass.

    • @coachblwilliams
      @coachblwilliams 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Antreas Kontos We do not. Weak hand changes depending on what side of floor the player is on and the player. We prefer to force the ball in a direction - either to the middle of the floor or to the sidelines/baseline. I do know some coaches who do.

      +Antreas Kontos because when you are teaching kids with very little experience, it is easier to force to weak side than implementing a sophisticated defensive system that they might not be able to follow all the time.

      Hah, the bigger problem is that Spanish and Portugese people do not understand a very simple English language. Jim doesn't work with spanish people everyday, why should he learn it ? He needs to learn spanish because once a year he would be in a situation he may speak spanish ?Do you learn languages you do not need ? And he doesn't talk to them like they were idiots, he is explaining in a very simple way. He is not ignorant, you have no idea what you're talking about.

    • @Findek
