I've seen quite a few videos on subsurface mining and they were all over complicated. This one was perfect in my opinion. To the point and full of the information that's actually needed!
I hadn't made up my mind on subsurface mining until watching your video and have decided to try it. really to the point and easy to understand. Buy the way subed.
You did send me out there without the DSS lol, i was stuck for a good hour until i figured ehat was missing. But its al good youve been more than helpful thank you.
Your videos are great! Thanks for getting right to the point and not trying too hard to be funny / entertaining. So much more enjoyable than most ED content creators!
This mining was soo fun. I haven't done really any mining since the LTD nerf but this was the best. I would go for hours. Fun mini game to get the deposits rather than just shooting lasers at a rock lol. Good video 🤘👍
Sub Surface mining can make the difference between a wasted trip and a profitable day. You can usually expect 3 to 5 tons of product from any one deposit. I have gotten up to 25 tons from a single deposit. As well, if you're far enough outside the Bubble to not have Pirates to deal with, you can effectively farm sub surface deposits just like you would farm high grade emissions sources. Find a rock like shown in this video. Having 2, 3, even 4 deposits. Clean them out then log out to desktop. Log back in and your rock of choice will be right below you ready to go another round.
@@crypticcyru5907 while I don't own a PS4, if you can buy and use a sub-surface missile launcher. it works. Sub-Surface Missile Launchers come in both #1 and #2 sizes. I've always used the size #2. And it works for any product that can be sub surface mined. Gold, Silver, Platinum, Painite, Osmium, LTD, Bromellite, Tritium and so on. And the system does appear to reward perseverance and success. Tackling the more difficult targets plus consecutive successful extractions seem to result in higher yield per extraction. And BTW, you don't even have to log out all the way to desktop. Just log out to Main Menu is plenty. Just be aware that if you're near enough to the Bubble for NPC Pirates to spawn. They will be coming to visit.
Good video and well presented, subbed. It makes me want to get back into mining (along with your other mining vids) simply for the fun of it and not the money. I really enjoy mining in VR. Cheers
I gave up on core & sub, the rocks were so far n few n in between, it would take me 20+ minutes to find the next rock. I searched so many systems with the help of ED Mining Tool and other tools - nothing. I wanted to do sub-surface so bad, but in the end I only do platinum laser mining now with my type-9 space cow. It's slow too but nowhere near as bad as core/sub, and I have 11 collector limpets racing around to pick up fragments!
I hear you I hear you loud and clear! It's not always easy especially since the "fleet carrier update" lowered some of our best resources. Thank you for watching o7 cmdr!

Thanks for the kind words, that was the goal! See you around, o7 CMDR!

Appreciate the compliments. It's been a while, but I do have two new videos in the works currently. Hope to see ya around CMDR!

Skill. Based. Mining. 3 layers. Surface. Sub-surface. Core. This is a thing of beauty.

Does this work on PS4 with platinum asteroids?

Appreciate it! Many more Elite videos soon to follow.
Thanks man! Awesome info easy to follow
Thanks for the video :)
Do you think you could employ all 3 mining types on one asteroid? I mean surface it, then subsurface it and finally kaboom it?
Good guide well delivered. Thanks
Thank you, CMDR! See ya out there.

The old days was 3P laser mining. Painite, platinum and palladium.
@@cmdrbudman1ao580 Painite, Platinum, OSMIUM now :(
use a fast ship for sub/core mining. the clipper is perfekt for this task
@@gluhbirnebirne2001 I'll give it a try, but finding a rock takes so long. I have a cutter, will that work?
What type of asteroids/rings does tritium form in?
It actually is fun
When I shoot subsurface targets they take no damage

I was hoping for exploding astroids. I was disappointed in the end.
You'd like the core mining video, then 😀 th-cam.com/video/gYke_MO-gE4/w-d-xo.html
