I enjoyed the series about the Elsinore very much. The bike looks really great and now, because you never give up, it runs good as well. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video. Using vintage honda parts mixed with modern upgrades to make the bike run and handle better are always the most satisfying mods. And yes, the gas gap definitely needs a gasket.
Awesome video! I rode one of those when I was about 35 years younger and would love to ride that bike again. You have a great personality and skill. Keep it up!
Gold Guy older guy here again - I luv it carb boot $50 plumbing part $5 it's a no brained - looks good -😀 & makes u feel good about yourself I could ride when I was younger I'd luv to jump on a bike again - I'm working on a 1500 watt front hub bike kit for mountain bike like you - the freedom - just for the transportation at moderate power peddling a lil all that - like a childhood dream ✌️notice I didn't even have to mention the off-road capabilities w/full power trail riding shortcuts groceries goodbye for now friend & keep on jamming you're good
I am doing a full nuts and bolts rebuild on a 1976 MT250 that I will then race in vintage hare scrambles. I went with Betor shocks. Great quality and a very renowned brand.
I purchased a genuine T-shirt like the one you are wearing at the June 22 1977 LA Forum Led Zeppelin concert. I know, who cares, totally off the subject, but just had to say.👍🏼 Your music taste cannot be critiqued.
Good job I always love your videos you always overcome your obstacles I’ve seen you improve over the years you’re doing great just be careful for the asset next time should have it so close to a good car as well you might damage the paint stay safe keep the shiny side up
@@lilTryhard I´ve seen similar comments multiple times. From my experience new exhausts and air filters and re jetting the carburettors in most cases are no big thing. Of course it means some work sometimes and it is a reasonable question, if the result is worth the effort. So I agree to your statement, if you talk about people who are riders but do not really like working on their bikes. For me it was just fun to do it.
@@martinkupka3575 This being a single cylinder it is probably no big deal. My experience was changing the stock air box to pod filters on an inline 4 with CV carbs, and a custom exhaust. I would never recommend anyone do what I did lol
I still have it. It's in my shed. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to work on that restoration in a while but I will return to it once this bike is done.
is it just me, or does anyone else hear that sort of dragging / metallic chaffing sound when hes doing that test ride and 0-60 pulls around min 21:28-ish onwards?
Hooker Header pipe for the TS185. That carb doesn't sound healthy. I had a 1971 and it absolutely ripped with the Hooker on it. It had no problem hitting 75. A healthy 185 will break up at top RPM
This was my first dual sport bike, what a great bike.thanks for the memories.
Im starting on restoring my 72 xl250 and these videos have been super helpful thank you 👍🏻

It's gonna handle shit with those springs, the rebound damping is extremely high for the new weaker springs

Thanks!
Creative work around for the air cleaner!

wow, a buddy had one of these and I had the baby brother 125...loved his duel range transmission....
Hit that side-stand with some heat, then bend it forward an inch. Spray it black. Job done! ☺ 👍

Really good stuff Mason! Can't wait to see the other bikes you got as well :)
Also, use Evaporust. Water based, non-smelling, and works great. It’s what I use when I have to get the rust out of gas tanks.
I passed you in Monongahela in your pickup and I can't wait to see that video!!!

I nearly fainted watching the grommet expansion…jfc GG
😀
The air filter was missing the internal cage when you bought it. I can easily find the right uni filter for this bike but it needs the cage to work.
Just from my experience... changing either the intake or exhaust on a carbureted bike ends up being a massive headache down the road.

@@lilTryhard Of course I believe you. Some engines are bitches. 😁
Get a stronger spring on that kickstand
What brand, size, ofaftermarket shocks did you use?
This bike is nice a little more tuning should be perfect this is one I think you should keep for awhile..
Shouldnt the little mud flap on the front mudguard be on the back end to protect the engine? love the videos cheers!
Nope they are in the front from the factory.
What ever happened to the rx50 ~special~? I'm restoring one now, and your videos have been an excellent guide.

@@GoldGuyRides thats excellent news. The Elsinore is looking great!
I keep thinking the front fender is on backwards?? Would think the rubber would protect crap from hitting the engine?
it is it is :D

Go to a 15 jet and drop the needle in the carb leaner mine runs like a cr 250 also

What's the point in having a TH-cam channel if you hardly produce any programs for your subscribers...!!!
Where’s the old 750 with the red and blue tank
