It’s a literal countdown waiting for one channel to drop a video on this after another. Their marketing game on this model is on point, and it’s actually working on me. I want one of these real bad
Despite the fact that the FR-1500 is built to the same specs with the same materials as the German-made version. I get it, people want the expensive trem in their expensive guitar, but functionally, the FR-1000 and 1500 are just as good as the original.
@@reverb508 yeah, I agree with everything you said...I was just pointing out why people griped about it. I have several guitars with the FR-1500 and I like them just as much as the original FR.
So far I like the sound better than the first release of thru necks. I have to say, Jackson makes some really decent product. I like that USA versions are coming back into the market.
Floyd Rose bridges are polarizing in the guitar community in general, similar to the discussion about the best nut material, or saddles on a hard tail. Biggest argument you'll find, is the Floyd Rose vesus the Gotoh GE1996T bridge. I appreciate seeing the review from someone who doesn't typically use this style of guitar. Given inflation, and whats put into the guitar, I think Jackson listened, and tried to put it at a decent price point for the market they want of it. Thanks again for a video on it!
People complaining about the price need to realize there is no other production USA-made guitar with the specs this has, at this price. If you don't care about having a USA-made guitar then of course you have some greatly spec'd options in Japanese and Korean made models, but this and the USA Soloist are really in their own lane of the market.
One correction, fretboard is “streaky ebony”, not rosewood. My brain says it’s the same as other companies saying “Macassar ebony” which is their way of disclosing you’re not getting a jet black fretboard. Massive Jackson fanboi here - I prefer these over the SL3’s that were released. I do prefer sharkfin inlays over dots all day, but I’d sooner take the offset dots before I play with 3 pickups. The vibe of these are great. I only play V’s and have sold off my old Dinky’s, but I rather like this and if I had the funds, I’d totally get one. Specifically the specific ocean (get it?), and definitely when it has a lot of streaks/lighter fretboard.

Yup. I have an SL-1 and SL-3. The 1500 is just as good. The German actually comes loose and has to be tightened periodically too, and I have yet to do that with the 1500.

Everything has almost doubled in price due to inflation in the last 2 years. That's much more the reason than marketing. $2k is pretty affordable for a USA guitar.
@@cdnpunk2270 Fender had to take made in USA off of their guitars back in 2016 because of complying with california regulations that forbid things from claiming to be made in America if foreign components make up more than 5%, or 10% based on different conditions like lack of American suppliers, of the value of their wholesale cost. The difference isn't really that big. A cheaper guitar would have cheaper hardware/electronics and maybe some different woods. You just have to read through the specs to see what you're getting.
The difference is where it is made, simple as that. Honestly the craftsmanship between Korean, Japan and American made from large production guitar models is indistinguishable at these price points.
