I watched a guy hand a guitar to Randy Rhodes, then snapped a couple photos. One week later, "Randy Rhodes' favorite guitar" was on sale for $15,000. Randy never owned it, never played it, never even signed it, yet this was his "favorite" guitar.
I was thinking there had to be some damage under that pick guard and then lost it laughing when the pics showed just how chewed up it really is. Hilarious. Hard to believe someone would do that to a custom shop
My wife to be does many art commissions and because of my love for guitars she has decided that soon she would like to take guitars and custom paint them. So when it comes to that Mario P-Bass I fully justify the price being $2000 since a lot of time and work goes into making beautiful art like that. It may not be for everyone but there is definitely a market for it.
Maybe $200 dollars extra for the paint job but no way is it worth $1700 extra regardless of the time spent on it. If it takes you $1700 worth of time to do a piece like that then you are probably not a professional.
I sent that Les Paul in! Glad to see you feature it with the same reaction as me. Pure madness anyone would do that, madness the shop would buy it, madness theyd try and sell it for that much. There are a few more wacky things I see on the southpaw side of reverb, I'll have to send them in.
That LP reminds me of an LP I was checking out in the late 80s. I noticed it was way too light when I took it off the hanger. Once I looked at the back I saw the issue. There was a piece of "wood" that someone had used a piece of end table top laminate (with the photographed wood, like in the 70s) and hacksawed it into the body shape and screwed it on. To weight-relieve it they used a drill to hollow out almost the entire back of the guitar to various depths. Not like lots of holes. It was a giant cavity. ugh...
Tag on the supposed Joe Walsh guitar says 'J. Walsh'... Joe isn't the only name that starts with J either, what if was Johnathan Walsh, Jeff Walsh, or Joseph Walsh, or any other J names out there for that matter? Or what if someone thought the airline would take better care of it if they thought it belonged to someone famous? There's all kinds of scenarios that could be why that tag is on that case...is it ever THE Joe Walsh's handwriting? Whoever listed that is gonna be waiting a long time to sell that one...Lol!
This episode definitely exceeded expectations. I think the Mario bass shop also had a Squier strat painted up with Warhol's Campbell's Soup Can for the same ching.
2:51 _Love_ them, but not enough to know that the bass version is called T-40. 😜 I wonder if the original pickups are included? Also, at 8:35 - that IS a big deal since it's an EMG and the custom painted cover cannot be swapped over.
I saw that Les Paul lefty abomination on reverb last night in the UK. My initial reaction was stronger than yours even after laughing at the price tag for 40 minutes....
Fluff, the bass version that you like is the T40 and if you want one I got 1 for sale 1978!!! Comes with the original case also with the velvet still in there.
5th listing raises a very funny idea to me. Signature necks. Signature bodies. "Yeah I'm an Ibanez RG body signature artist and a Fender 70's Stratocaster neck signature artist.". Get me some signature tuners too!
I sent in the ESP guitar. There was a camo one I sent in as well. I'm always on the hunt for those esp/ltd explorers. I did not buy that atrocity though.
On topic for a moment: I customise, paint, reshape and refinish guitars, pyrography, paint, etching, chisel…all manner of poop. I absolutely stand by anyone that is doing this and trying to sell, but be realistic with the prices people. Mario bass rocks ass, but it ain’t $2k Personally I’d be pricing that around $500 (£380 ish)
12:36 It's like that scene from Robocop when Lewis hands Murphy the drill and he takes off the front of his helmet. Only he looked a lot prettier than this poor guitar.
Oh, that poor Les Paul! I thought there was some drunken luithery that took place, or someone refused to pay for repairs... I hope for their sake, the shop listing it is only doing it on consignment... Even though that doesn't really make sense, it's the only thing that would make sense!
3:36 so this guitar doesn’t play (pickups not soldered), and the only provenance is the hang tag on the “custom case” which since it’s “custom” could be for any random guitar that Joe Walsh ever owned, if they didn’t just attach that hang tag to a random case. We don’t even get a photo of the “custom case” At least the address on the hangtag checks out.
If that mario painted affinity bass was much much cheaper, I'd scoop it and replace the neck, lmao.. The body painted like that is killer. But painting the fretboard like that? Not so much 😂
Lol they said routed! Did they have a stroke while routing it? My dog could chew a cleaner cavity! I think we all died a little inside when we seen behind that pick guard!
Mickeys owner is probably a collector and not a player and never changed those 2 9 volts. Seen so many broken active guitars that were just dead batteries
I'm mortified by this Les Paul... mortified and shocked.... this is the craziest most r worded shit I have ever seen done to such a beauty of a guitar..
If I had the extra funds, I could go for that Mickey Mouse guitar. That Les Paul was painful to see, take the EMG out and sell it on it's own then chop the guitar up for kindling.
What’s up with all the listings of tip top audio synth modules that show as sold for 9,999.99 in america when the modules cost 200-500 bucks tops new. Sometimes the sold listings are from before the item was released. Do these companies actually sell prerelease items for 10k? Or is this a case of currency exchange mess up? Possible fraud money laundering?
That Les Paul is an RRL all-timer. Christ.
It pains my soul
Looks like they did the routing with a rototiller.
Trogly featured the same lp. Im just as disgusted now as I was the 1st time I saw it...
Weight relief BRO
@@billymurphy3 Yeah, and it's still more than 8 lbs!
Austin had that lefty gibson on his show. Can't stop laughing.
I saw that episode!
Of all the episodes and listings, that Gibson takes the top spot. So many questions with all the answers I did not want 😅
There should be criminal charges filed for that LP🤦♂
Agreed 😂
exactly My thoughts !
Joe Walsh’s guitar, John Voight’s car. Both great buys
That’s what I thought to! Sometimes I spell Jerry with an I!!!
@@natemccollum3731 Look! It's Barbara Mandrell's skateboard! lol
I watched a guy hand a guitar to Randy Rhodes, then snapped a couple photos.

I have an 80's Yamaha Pacifica that John Voight used to own!
lol THE John Voight?
Joe Walsh's Peavey giving me serious "Jon Voight's LeBaron" vibes
That Les Paul atrocity had more shock value than say a cartel beheading video 😱
That Les Paul is the thing Nightmares are made of.
My wife to be does many art commissions and because of my love for guitars she has decided that soon she would like to take guitars and custom paint them. So when it comes to that Mario P-Bass I fully justify the price being $2000 since a lot of time and work goes into making beautiful art like that. Would be a better sell if the canvas was a Fender MiM at minimum instead of a Squier Affinity.
Maybe $200 dollars extra for the paint job but no way is it worth $1700 extra regardless of the time spent on it. If it takes you $1700 worth of time to do a piece like that then you are probably not a professional.
Really. Why invest that much time, effort on a squier. The buyer is mainly buying it for visuals so Fender would look way better. @kennethh2430
There are others commenting on here that actually do the work saying it's not even close to $2000. More like $500.
I sent that Les Paul in! Glad to see you feature it with the same reaction as me. Pure madness anyone would do that, madness the shop would buy it, madness theyd try and sell it for that much.
There are a few more wacky things I see on the southpaw side of reverb, I'll have to send them in.
New content idea: Most Tragic Reverb Listings. That LP is easily #1. I'm a drummer and I freaking wept when I saw that abomination.
Monday morning, getting kids ready. This is just what I needed!!!!
When I saw what he did to that les paul, the only thing running through my mind was "I think I'm gonna hurl!".
Trogley had the same reaction when he featured that LP on his show.
I momentarily couldn’t breath when the cover came off of that LP Custom. What in the dads Black and Decker power drill was someone thinking!!
I saw that Ibanez neck the body was sold separately and it sold for five grand. No pick ups no electronics.
That les Paul was definitely and acid trip that had some great ideas come to mind
That LP broke my heart.
The guitar neck for almost 7500! Ridiculous and someone is stoned out of there mind!
Just discovered these videos and I absolutely love them. I have a lot to catch up on but it'll be worth it..
You most certainly did save the worst for last!!! 😂
The Peavy guitar reminds me of George Costanza and John Voight’s car story, the pencil had his name on it so it must be true
It's the dentist Joe Walsh
That LP .................................................................No words.
The "T-60 bass" is a T-40, god damn it
The Joe Walsh guitar reminded me immediately of John Voight's car in Seinfeld.
That Led Paul looks like it's top notch work. 😂😂😂
I laughed so much with that last Les Paul...that I have spat my lungs out.
I had the exact same reaction to that poor les paul lol. Thought I was looking in a mirror
"Very Good Condition"
I love T-60's sound and look but theyre heavy AF on the shoulder.
Man, the weight relief has to be lovely on that lefty Paul 😮
Place in Minneapolis was supposedly selling joe walsh's 59/60 les paul. Can only Imagine what it sold for
That LP reminds me of an LP I was checking out in the late 80s. I noticed it was way too light when I took it off the hanger. Once I looked at the back I saw the issue. There was a piece of "wood" that someone had used a piece of end table top laminate (with the photographed wood, like in the 70s) and hacksawed it into the body shape and screwed it on. Write a beard shaving riff with your best best gear. Riffs, beards & gear 😆
I love these. I’m still shocked you haven’t featured a Kyle Bull listing.
They're buddies soooo.....
I saw this Peavey. The only provenance is a sticker on the case that says "Joe Walsh" written in ink.
This morning I say one of those LP JR DCs from a few years ago for $100 with $1099 shipping :)
Trogly’s guitar show showed that lefty Gibson on his show it was sick lol
That lefty Les Paul was sooo bad. My favourite bit was the crappy blocks of wood with big screws in them from the side. What on earth happened to it!
WHOAH I went full bill and ted when I saw under that pickguard. My god.
2:51 _Love_ them, but not enough to know that the bass version is called T-40. 😜
I wonder if the original pickups are included?
Also, at 8:35 - that IS a big deal since it's an EMG and the custom painted cover cannot be swapped over.
That lefty Les Paul…. That hurt my heart. Ah poor thing. 💔👽
I saw that Les Paul lefty abomination on reverb last night in the UK. My initial reaction was stronger than yours even after laughing at the price tag for 40 minutes....
That gutted LP is the guitar version of the Phantom of the Opera
That last open hurts. It’s like a kid who got his grandpa’s guitar and a router in the same year…yeah smh.
That LesPaul 74 needs a bit of renovation 😂
Fluff, the bass version that you like is the T40 and if you want one I got 1 for sale 1978!!! Comes with the original case also with the velvet still in there.
that les paul is killer 🤣
Nice to see a Lefty incuded!
The last 1974 Les Paul Custom is "one hole weight relief" .......!!!!! ahah !!!
You are right but it somehow still weighed 8.6lbs lol
Those guys that do such nice paintwork should be able to do custom work on a NICE instrument if you can find them. Too Bad Joe's had replaced pups.
5th listing raises a very funny idea to me. Signature necks. Signature bodies. "Yeah I'm an Ibanez RG body signature artist and a Fender 70's Stratocaster neck signature artist.". Get me some signature tuners too!
LP reminds me of a Clist post for a modded 57 Strat that had been chain sawed down to a Vox Teardrop shape...I still have the pics
That last one hurts. It’s like a kid who got his grandpa’s guitar and a router in the same year…yeah smh.
This is what I’ve been looking for
I sent in the ESP guitar. There was a camo one I sent in as well.
I'm always on the hunt for those esp/ltd explorers. I did not buy that atrocity though.
I did not know former Illinois Representative Joe Walsh was a Peavey guy!
Currently picking my jaw up off the floor, that Gibson got me good lol
I just knew it on that LP. Only thing that came to mind as someone did that to make it lighter. Crying shame.
That last one, wowzerz!
On topic for a moment: I customise, paint, reshape and refinish guitars, pyrography, paint, etching, chisel…all manner of poop. I absolutely stand by anyone that is doing this and trying to sell, but be realistic with the prices people. Mario bass rocks ass, but it ain’t $2k
Personally I’d be pricing that around $500 (£380 ish)
My music teacher was named Joe Walsh and had one of those. May be a coincidence. But it’s also funny. Hahaha.
Low output on and EMG... I'm not the only one that thought it might just need a new battery, right?
The Kurt Russell smashed Martin doesn’t look as bad as that Les Paul.
12:36 It's like that scene from Robocop when Lewis hands Murphy the drill and he takes off the front of his helmet. Only he looked a lot prettier than this poor guitar.
That Les Paul!...Ho li chit!!!
The Mario bass, if it was a classic vibe it might be worth it. 😂
The Les Paul looks like Darth Vader with his mask off.
8lbs after the hack job! Had to have been a 12lbs guitar.......but I think I was almost sick the first time I saw that.
I think you could buff out that LP. Gibson's first attempt at weight relief maybe?
Joe Walsh's bass brought to you by the same dealer that sold George Jon Voight's LeBaron
Oh, that poor Les Paul! I thought there was some drunken luithery that took place, or someone refused to pay for repairs... I hope for their sake, the shop listing it is only doing it on consignment... Even though that doesn't really make sense, it's the only thing that would make sense!
The fact that there are watchers on that Les Paul listing and offers made is even crazier than the guitar itself lol
The reveal on that left hand LP was 10/10
that les paul with the giant pickguard devalued itself to a $500 guitar
You'd have to give me 500 bucks to take it.....😂
3:36 so this guitar doesn’t play (pickups not soldered), and the only provenance is the hang tag on the “custom case” which since it’s “custom” could be for any random guitar that Joe Walsh ever owned, if they didn’t just attach that hang tag to a random case. We don’t even get a photo of the “custom case”
At least the address on the hangtag checks out.
12:36 my exact reaction as well
Is it safe to assume that we can call your fans "Fluffers"? Great show!
I think we all died a little inside when we seen behind that pick guard!
bruh.., that Mario bass is literally spiting fire.
If the Super Mario bass was half the asking price and they had left the fretboard and neck stock I might want it. Very cool.
Mickeys owner is probably a collector and not a player and never changed those 2 9 volts. Seen so many broken active guitars that were just dead batteries
That Les Paul had me gutted. Legitimately depressing. Holy shit, I need - I don't even know what I need after that. Jesus Christ...
WOW. That Lefty LP.... I mean.....ohh man...
need more Rig Rating and/or Roasting!!!
I'm mortified by this Les Paul... mortified and shocked.... this is the craziest most r worded shit I have ever seen done to such a beauty of a guitar..
That Les Paul is an absolute atrocity.
Hell, the Les Paul is a murder scene
The Justicia on the ESP is so cool, shouldve just put her on the front. Or RTL with those colors
That LP made me sick! I couldn’t even look at it after seeing that!!!
If I had the extra funds, I could go for that Mickey Mouse guitar. That Les Paul was painful to see, take the EMG out and sell it on it's own then chop the guitar up for kindling.
The Les Paul gave Fluff PTSD.
Wonder if Norm has a LP like that in his warehouse?
What’s up with all the listings of tip top audio synth modules that show as sold for 9,999.99 in america when the modules cost 200-500 bucks tops new. I think that Les Paul was some 80s band's drug stash guitar
