    My kind of consistency: one video every 4 months 😅

      Just saw your tip on checking the book in library first. Will do 😄

      Hahaha whatever works the best for you! I only own Words that Sell and borrowed the rest from either UW library or the Seattle Public Library. Thank you for watching my video!!

    Thank you for sharing! Perfect timing as I was just looking for more books related to content design.
    I also LOVE that you recommended getting the books from the library! I got myself several library cards this year to be more sustainable, to support libraries, and yes, saving money!

      Thank you so much for the comment, Angeline. I love my local library 🥰

    Thanks for making recommendations so fun! I read "Don't Make Me Think" years ago and thought it was a joy ride too!
    P.S., I am surprised you don't feel you were bombarded with grammar growing up learning English -- maybe your teachers were making grammar cohesive and fun with language tasks! Grammar was so emphasized by schools in China (sometimes toooo much). As a grammar nerd, I pridefully say that second-language learners sometimes have more grammar knowledge than native speakers. 😭. I'll have fun reading this book you recommend!

      Yay! Glad you enjoyed the book recommendations. My grammar really struggled when I came to the US so it’s probably because I went to crappy schools in China-literally guessed my way through every English exam 😩

    Thank you for this video, it was highly informative! Can I ask what grad school program do you think is best for this field?

    • @yvonnexiao
      @yvonnexiao  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Thanks for the comment. I can make a video on this topic. Short answer is that grad school isn’t going to directly land you a job-relevant work experience will.

      @@yvonnexiao Thank you so much for that info!! Would you say any kind of writing experience would be helpful as well? It’s kind of hard getting technical writing work but I have many years of other kinds of published writings.
