Always wonderful to have Micheal doing commentaries and giving us a view into the mind of the professional. As always Micheal is articulate, knowledgeable, and just an all around joy. Thanks for the hard work.
I discovered this video by chance. I didn't know Nihon Kiin had this page with commentaries in English. Looking forward to more videos!
Michael Redmond haa a channel of his own as well if you didn't know
Analyze some Huang Longshi and Sunjang games as well, please.
Wow the level of depth of this game is amazing... a masterpiece. Thank you Michael!
Amazing game and commentary - thank you so much :)
After black D12, Katago has blacks advantage down to 0.7 points. Admittedly, the continuation of w F11 instead of D13 was a little hard to find. :-)
should white have given up attacking the stones in the upper left at some point to play a big point elsewhere? sort of allowing black to live small
Thank you for the very instructive commentary.
There's never too much detail in a commentary of pro games ;)
Beautiful game and commentary, thank you Michael. That squeeze at M7 was decisive, I wonder how far our he saw it. Great meditation on the value of sacrifice!
Love these videos, please make more! May I request analysis of games and discussions of their individual styles for: Go Seigen; Kitani Minoru; Lee Chang-ho; Lee Sedol; and Kobayashi?
excellent commentary. thank you :)
Why is this not on micheal redmonds channel?
Thank's a lot for the game and your very instructive comments - I like it very much.
I've been mispronouncing "Honinbo" all this time.
Excellent commentary, I learn a lot!
Dosaku was otherworldly genius. When I saw the Knights move in the center instead of tiger mouth. I knew he read everything. That squeeze was perfect
For low kyu players like myself, I feel very bad about giving up the C10 stone. I feel that since black had stones in the lower left when white invaded black should be attacking white
Late to watch this commentary ... not only did I enjoy the game but the demonstration of tewari as well!
Beautiful game and lovely history. Thanks for sharing all of it with us!
Splendid and helpful on strategy
