      They looked liked a really nice place to live. I think in the off times...weekends, traffic noise would be acceptable. The story is they sold out for a planned retirement village. You'd think the owners would be trying to sell these off if they aren't being developed.

    Ugh. This is heartbreaking. After my dad died, my mom decided to move back to her hometown, and we left the only house I ever called home. I get upset thinking about the place and how there's another family living in it, and all our pets are still buried in the yard. These abandoned houses used to be someone's home. Most people aren't as sentimental as I am, but I would be devastated if my childhood home was vandalized and left in this condition. 🙁

    Another explorer went in there fairly recently. Sorry but I don't recall which explorer. But anyway, he posted a link about the property. A developer purchased all that property and plans to develop it into something else. All the houses are supposed to be demolished at some point, but in the meantime, the developer is allowing Habitat For Humanity to go into the houses and strip them of anything that can be used, including any furniture and appliances left behind. But the house with the console TV that was smashed is one of the ones the other explorer went into, and the TV wasn't smashed then. So judging from the amount of vandalism seen in your video, if Habitat doesn't get on the ball, there soon won't be anything left worth salvaging.

  • @pappy4075
    @pappy4075 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Here is official answer
    As for plans for the neighborhood, it sits strangely and scarily abandoned right now, but in the future Leahwood noted, "The entire neighborhood agreed to put their entire community up for sale as commercial property. The reason for this, some neighbors are saying, is because Cary has experienced such rapid development. Twenty years ago, that area of Kildaire Farms Road wasn't so busy and built up. Unhappy with the fast pace of growth, but not always able to afford to just up and move, sometimes neighborhoods create this kind of solution. So the rapid expansion of Cary is partially to blame. These are nice houses -- according to Zillow, many are worth between $250-300k. The company that bought the neighborhood is planning to raze the houses and build a senior living community."

      sam ishere, the owners sold their homes to a developer that's going to build senior care facilities. As for the highway, if it bothered them they could of had the state highway department put in a sound barrier wall. By the looks of it those homes came after that highway. The highway is probably one reason that neighborhood ever came to be.

    If you check the tax records history for names of people living there 15-20 years ago. Most people will only move about 15 to 30 miles away. The street still maintain by the county. I would say, it was a dump site. In the 60's and 70's (they) just pay someone in a pick-up truck to dump. (they) never ask to know where. The kids older now, they can talk while they had to move and there were kids.

    If it's a whole neighborhood it's usually a recession (the builder went broke before closing all the homes), banks refuse to deal with these situations. There was a recession in 1987 that did something similar near where I live, entire blocks like ghost towns.

      I can think of only one reason to abandon a nice neighborhood as this. Something toxic. It would only take a phone call to the town offices to find out what happened. It would have been easy and it would have made this video better.

    It was the rapid expansion of Cary who made people in that area to move.Cary North Carolina is also one of the safest places to live in USA.
    www.onlyinyourstate.com/north-carolina/abandoned-neighborhood-ne/amp/
    (As plans for the neighborhood, it sits strangely and scarily abandoned right now, but in the future Leahwood noted, "The entire neighborhood agreed to put their entire community up for sale as commercial property. The company that bought the neighborhood is planning to raze the houses and build a senior living community.)

      The noise may have played a roll, but knowing Cary, they bought the development out to build a parking lot or another housing development with way more house built practically on top of each other.

      you can goto records dept of Town of Cary and find out..possible causes
      0)Balloon payment after 5 years so you pay a nice low mortgage of maybe 1000/month when the balloon comes due which may double your payment..split and leave the keys in the front door
      1)Property Taxes went thru the roof and property-owners walked away rather than pay
      2)Tainted Drinking Water..in which case EPA should be contacted to declare SuperFund Site
      3)Malfeasance on the part of GC ..although (that doesnt explain why the houses were occupied )
      4)Lack of Security is a concern..local hooligans can sneak in from nearby Highway and cause all manner
      of vandalism
      5)SAS Cary NC laid off and 50% of the people were yankees went home when laid off
      if you are in CARY goto TownHall and look at LandRecords for that street and tell us what the records say?

      @HeyPayWay 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      AsianGlow why would you want someone to get charged for their hobby? Who is he hurting? Just your feelings. He said he’ll never know because he doesn’t care. You can enjoy urban exploration without the back story. Just because you want it doesn’t mean you’re entitled to it. If you want to know so bad go yourself. Don’t watch his videos. If YOU care more than he does to know the backstory then he’s right. Look it up yourself.

    • @AsianGlow
      @AsianGlow 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @j1ggly - A hobby usually entails participating in unpaid, legal activities. You can enjoy urban exploring as a journalists, there's leeway in somewhat of a grey area (their intent is to report, not trespass).
