I still think Ryan Drummond was the best for Modern Sonic, he sounds cool and carefree like Sonic should be but he isn't trying too hard like Jason or Roger (though Roger was really good in Frontiers, if a bit too mature sounding).

Jason does not make Sonic sound as energetic as Ryan, so Ryan is the best.
Somehow I forgot to comment something of my own instead of replying to others on this, but whatever.
Anyway Ryan Drummond and Jun’Ichi Kanemaru are my favorite voices for Sonic. Ryan for English and Jun’Ichi for Japanese. Jaleel White is my favorite Classic Sonic, and Ben Schwartz is my favorite multi-media Sonic voice actor (since his take has most of the qualities of Ryan’s take, plus some serious emotion.)

For Jalee White, He voice ( To me at least) fits for classic sonic. Sonic is a teen, RCS has the voice of a man far into his adult age.
Jason Griffith has the right sound of a teenager Sonic. And he can also dub Shadow. I think Sonic and Shadow might have their voice sounding similar though with different style
Same is for Ryan Drummond. He also voice Shadow, shortly and the voice was fine.
Most English Sonic voices are fine, I think.
In Italy we got three VA, Pietro Ubaldi was quite a poor choice, he usually dubs villains, Renato Novara is the official sonic VA and even if his voice is rather deep, it sounds youthful and goofy. The one from Sonic Boom, Daniele, has a very cure voice that suits Sonic very well.

Here is how I would rank the ones that matter.
1. Ryan Drummond - To me, Ryan is and will always be the definitive Sonic, Idc what anyone says. He hit the *perfect* balance of serious and cocky in his voice, and it showed the best in Sonic Adventure 2. He started out somewhat rough in Sonic Adventure but he hit all of the right notes in Sonic Shuffle, and he peaked in the next game. Then in Sonic Heroes, despite the story being barebones, he delivered all of the lines perfectly. Some may say he doesn’t really show the caring side of Sonic’s personality that well, but he proved he could do that in Sonic & Tails R, even though his voice matured a bit. I wish he got to voice in more games. He was perfect imo. On top of that he is the English equivalent to the Japanese actor, Jun’Ichi Kanemaru.
2. Ben Schwartz - When I first heard him, I thought he sounded pretty good. He sounds like a mix of all 3 game actors for Sonic: He has the cocky energy of Ryan, the snarky attitude of Roger, and the emotion of Jason. In the Sonic Movie 2, he showed he could be emotional and serious perfectly. People complain about his performance because he has a different take on Sonic, but I think he works perfectly for Movie Sonic. Besides, I find it hypocritical when they hate on Ben Schwartz yet give a free pass to Idris Elba and Jim Carrey (even though Jim didn’t voice him but Idk who did) when they also have different takes on Knuckles and Dr. Eggman (not saying that they’re bad, both of them did great in the movies as well.) Ben at least sounded closer to Ryan as well as Jun’Ichi Kanemaru. Ben is massively underrated imo.
3. Jason Griffith - Looking back at his performances, I think I judged him unfairly. He was able to give a lot of depth and emotion to Sonic and show Sonic’s caring side better than Ryan. He had a really rough start in Sonic X, but he improved a bit when he got into the games. I feel like he started to form his voice from a Ryan Drummond impression into his own take in Sonic 06, even though his transition was really rocky. He got the voice down in Sonic and the Secret Rings, especially as Darkspine Sonic, and he peaked in Sonic Unleashed, and it was just as amazing in Sonic and the Black Knight (though I like his Unleashed performance a bit better because it’s a fully mainline game plus he also did the Werehog as well as Sonic.) I think it was his performance in Sonic & Tails R Episode X that sold me, since his energy was great there. He can sometimes sound like he’s overacting in some lines, but it’s not all that bad.
4. Deven Mack - He feels like a mix of Ryan Drummond and Roger Craig Smith. He delivers the lines well and sounds like an actual teenager. I don’t have any complaints about his performance, but Sonic isn’t characterized as well in Sonic Prime than in the games, but if Deven was given better lines, then he’d be a bit better.
5. Roger Craig Smith - Don’t get wrong, I do like his performance as Sonic, but I think the others held a better characterization of Sonic (no offense.) I do have nostalgic memories of hearing Roger in the early Meta Era Sonic games, like hearing him in Sonic Colors and Lost World when I was a young preteen boy, but looking back at his older performances now, I have to admit he wasn’t the best. He did have a better start than Ryan and Jason, but to me, he felt less serious as Sonic, most likely because of Sonic’s terrible characterization in those games (not saying that it’s his fault, it’s the fault of Pontac and Graff.) He along with the rest of the cast started to improve in Sonic Boom, and he sounded more fitting for the way that Sonic was characterized there. He started to get the voice down in Sonic Forces, where he started to put some more gruff than nasal into his voice to sound more natural, as well as the better lines he was given at the end of the game. He did pretty good in Team Sonic Racing as well. But in Frontiers, he was amazing, since he showed he could be emotional and caring as Sonic just like Jason, Ben, and Ryan. He does sound older and more mature for Sonic, but considering that the franchise has been around for a while, it still fits.
6. Jaleel White - He’s the best voice for Classic Sonic. His 90’s attitude fit Sonic perfectly at the time. I don’t have many complaints about his performance, but I don’t think it would work for Modern Sonic.
7. Martin Burke - He’s not terrible, but he’s nowhere near as good as the others. He is a bit more lacking in the 90’s attitude that Jaleel White had and sounds more serious for Sonic. He oddly fits Classic Sonic pretty well, but I think Jaleel fits better. And just like I said for Jaleel, Martin wouldn’t really work for Modern Sonic.
The others aren’t really worth mentioning, so I’m not going to cover them.

#8 Meg Inglima. Long story short, Sonic isn’t supposed to be voiced a woman. In addition, she’s lifeless and flat. End of story.
#7 Sam Vincent. Decent singing, but doesn’t sound like Sonic. More like a generic rockstar. No offence.
#6 Martin Burke. Fine, but nothing memorable. Tho, he does capture Sonic’s attitude.
#5 Jaleel White. Ehhhh! I have a lot of respect for him being one of the first actors who brought Sonic to life and I vaguely remember watching Sonic Underground as a kid, thus I can safely say his voice definitely fits that version, since Sonic is meant to be portrayed as a cocky kid, which works well. But the voice itself sounds like he has a cold or blocked up nose. Still, pretty good.
#4 Ryan Drummond. Oh, boy! People are gonna hate me for this!!! Now hear me out. I don’t hate him. It’s just that I wasn’t born around the time he voiced Sonic. Tho, hearing him, now that I’m older, I can definitely see why he’s seen as the OG Sonic, since he objectively has the best portrayal of the Blue Blur’s personality. Being the perfect balance of cocky and caring. A carefree teen who cares about his friends and is willing to save the day. Overall, while he’s not my favourite, I still have a lot of respect for him!
#3 Ben Schwartz. I’ve seen both Sonic movies in cinemas and I have to admit, I’m very mixed on his voice. On the one hand, he sounds like the perfect combination of all three main game actors; having Ryan’s cockiness, Jason’s seriousness and Roger’s chillness and does a really good job with the emotional moments in both films. But on the other hand, he can sound a bit high-pitched and immature, which makes Sonic come across as an obnoxious twerp, sometimes. But as a whole, he still fits the character well and did a good job with the material he was given.
#2 Jason Griffith. Please forgive me, Lord, for I have sinned! Now just because he’s in second, doesn’t make him any less good! I think he’s amazing! He’s the first Sonic voice I heard. Out of all the Sonic voice actors, he is hands down the most expressive! “NOW I’M SERIOUS!” Like, when he was happy, he was happy. When he was sad, he was sad. When he was scared, he was scared. When he was angry, he was angry. And not only that, but Jason’s range is impeccable. In addition to Sonic, he also voiced Shadow and Jet, and different variations of Sonic, like Excalibur Sonic, Darkspine Sonic, and Werehog Sonic! While he may have had a rocky start from Sonic X to Sonic 06, lacking emotion and overEMPHAsising his WORDS (even tho I personally like the repetitive rhythm in his voice) and really only peaked at the end of his career, I still think Jason is awesome!
#1 Roger Craig Smith. Yeah, he’s my favourite, FIGHT ME!!! Don’t @ me, but I think Roger is criminally underrated. Now, don’t get me wrong. The flaws people bring up with him are completely justified, like he sounds too deep, he tries too hard to be cool, he makes Sonic sound he doesn’t care about his friends or takes anything seriously, anymore, he sounds like a 30-year old trying to sound hip, blah, blah, blah! But for the last time, blame the writers, Ken Pontac and Warren Graff! They want Sonic to be a snarky, arrogant jerk! Roger doesn’t write the lines! Besides, I personally really like his voice for Sonic! Sure, it’s a bit deep, compared to Ryan and Jason, but personally, I like the more mature feel to his voice! I find it more unique! And believe me, I’ve heard teenagers with much deeper voices, so I think it’s appropriate for his age, which is 15. Plus, Roger definitely has the potential to get even better, now that Pontac and Graff are gone! So, fingers crossed for Frontiers, right? And he just clicks with me the most, for some reason. Whenever I picture Sonic, I always hear his voice in my head. He captures the snarky, comedic side of the character perfectly. It’s just a shame the he’s not allowed to do serious moments and even when he does, the writing still butchers him. Anyway, good luck in the future, Roger! I hope they do you justice this time!

Jason had a rough start at the beginning with his first being Sonic X, but he really improves and gets better. His absolute best performances being Unleashed And black knight which i fell in love with his voice a lot more haha,
Roger i love as a voice actor but his Sonic performance at the beginning was REALLY rough especially from terrible Written jokes and dialogue that the colors era is known for, ill probably get hate for this but colors Era is definitely the worst era for sonic, Frontiers though Really showed me Roger can be a great sonic with decent writing finally. Not my favorite sonic but i love him because of his other characters in other franchises and i have a loy of respect for him
Ben schwartz. I'm gonna get hate for this too but its like you said. He sounds way too obnoxious and annoying for Sonic I can't even stand it, I dislike the movies because of his voice (pretty bold to say) and i believe he's the worst recent sonic voice we've gotten in years, i heard his other characters and he doesn't really change his voice much in them and so on. I never care much for Jason in most of the games he was in his best role as sonic was in black knight which is sad it was also his last game. the people telling them how to act really fucked Jason over imo. becuase black knight and unleash was like the only good roles as far as sonic goes imo.
I mean Roger started out rough so did a lot of the other cast. the boom tv series imo really help them fit in to the role. but this is my silly opinion.
