Controlling the second hand is a very important topic, unfortunately in the wong chun world it's often overlooked.
Good video. Master Gary Lam makes it look so easy.

You're right. He does make it look easy. He's a brilliant teacher.

Could you do a video where the guy trys to strike you in the face and use Wu Sau attack. I notice that guy kind of throwing at your chest.

Great share - am thinking a lot about the Level One 'Crossing Hands' curriculum these days. Thank you for sharing your experience with us

I made it to class! ☑️💯☺️reminds me of when we cover and quan. That is a high level one to me. I admit it. Getting somebody to fire two shots. They do it a lot of times. The way I’d handle that one would be. Face him. My left lead. His right. When he uses an action. I hit through his hit with the lead. Piercing the wrist or covering it, My helping hand (right hand) hits immediately, and winds up on top usually ,in a 1-2 my lead just plugs into his outside closest eye, and because he takes up a blocking position. My lead BUI SAO all three fingers pointed into a triangle can go underneath his arm and push his eye away, with Simple PAK SAO and BUI, We use 2 actions against one, we crash. We open and separate the hands. Go outside inside. Now, on defense. Backing up. Controlling. I’m adding what I just saw to my work. Rushing, changing, crashing, can all help the two hand cover. If they’re grabbing with two hands we thread the LOP SAO or BUI and catch both. In Gary’s GWOH SAO video. He goes over using FUNG HAO and JA JEUNG to create a stiff position. Only to change, and hit on the other side. His two hand cover works well with that. Awesome video! 😇☮️☑️💯my ideas were how we handle the limbs in #jeetkunedo when using BUI SAO DA. ☑️💯not to compare but to give the audience a neat look into Bruce’s stuff with Gary’s. I think Gary fights the way Bruce was looking to do it himself. To me, Gary is the best. 😌☮️🤟

Wow! Great explanation! Thanks for sharing. There is a direct connection between Sifu Lam and Bruce Lee as they had the same teacher, Wong Shun Leung. Sifu Lam talks about when Lee would visit Wong's school in the early 70's. There was actually a sparring match between Lee and Wong in 1972 or '73. It's detailed in a biography that came out a few years ago, "Bruce Lee: A Life" by Matthew Polly.

Been there. Done that. The boxer went down in 2.5 seconds. Same thing for that Muay Thai fighter back in 2017.

You're not as clever as you think you are. You might want to look up the definition of "kilogram".

Not gonna lie, it's sad to see how sloppy Gary's wing Chun looks these days compared to when he was a lot younger.
Doesn't look at all like WSL wing Chun and you can tell he relies on the fact that he's 200+lbs and 6ft+ rather than demonstrating great technique and principles. Phillip Bayer and Peterson still after all these years demonstrate the way they were taught but Gary honestly seems like he can't be bothered.
"If he come, I take this and then break his hand"..... No you wouldn't. We are now getting into the territory of Steven Seagal sloppiness with these kind of techniques that we all know 100000% would never work in a street or bar fight. Let's keep it 💯 out here.

Always seems to be a keyboard warrior on every corner it never surprises me. Go down to the studio and spar Gary and see if he is slowing down or getting sloppy.

@@jeffreywise5060 I’ve been to his back yard in Monterey park and trained a few years ago… his students were decent. I know some of his oldest students personally and they’ll agree with what I’ve said.
“If I do this, and take this, you’ll fly away”.
He’s moved into being the Steven Seagal of the Wing chun world..
