I love the filter mounts under the table!!! That is really great and makes changing the filters easy while putting a bucket below. to catch spills. Well done!!

Definitely jealous that you can get away without reverse osmosis, I've tried that in the past and it's never ended well, maybe I just needed a bunch more carbon blocks and/or a flow restrictor to allow more contact time with the carbon? I'd be curious to how you determine what's "good enough" on the output side of the water. ICP testing? Chlorine testing? TDS?

Very nicely set up reservoirs Jake. I like the added touch of the digital thermometers w/o having a probe hanging out of the water tanks. Valuable information 👌

Yeah I'm curious about those thermometers too, similar to ones you slap on the outside of an aquarium? I guess they measure the temperature of the container which after a long period of time tends to be about the same temperature as the water.

A lot of people think the difference between specific gravity and parts per thousand salinity is just a conversion between two different measurement standards. But they're both actually measuring different things. Specific gravity measures the density of the water. Not necessarily the salinity which is a measurement of how heavy the salt is Ie how much salt there is in the water.

  • @Alex_Correa

Have you measured the water for phosphates after leaving those many carbon filters, Jake? Any lab tests? ICP?
OMG!!!! That SeaTest low range... man!!! I was so happy when I got my first one. That thing was the high end of aquarium equipment back when I was a kid! LOL!

I use aquaforest salt mainly and within an hr its ready to be used. I use an ac pump for mixing that produce basically 0 heat so I dont get excess rise in overall heating. It's very important for me being in south Florida....

Hello @ReefBuilders Jake, I have a question I have purchased 2 vertical water storage tanks brand new. How would you recommend to clean them out before use??? Im afraid there is mold release agent and just dust or dirt. I heard bleach, distilled vinegar none antibacterial dish soap but i am unsure? Thank you so much in advance

hey Jake,I really can`t believe what I see. whats about silicate, nitrate and phosphate in the water that you use? in germay we have a lot of these , I think it is better to install a silicate filter as last stage.for remove the silicate and phosphates ?what you think about ? Already got the flow meter from one of your reef therapy videos with your friend (sorry forgot his name now) do you recommend to agitate the fresh water too? I love the clear thermometer , I was thinking in one mp10 on the bottom to the salt water tank beside my core 20 to circulate the water through the 10 micro suck
