Looked like the auto-flush was built in but are there kits available to add to existing? The solenoid controlled the water flow but I’m guessing it was programmed to open before the auto-flush did its job. Also can you use the 1/4” flow meter to ensure that the solenoid did in fact open so your boost pump doesn’t run dry? If that’s the case could we possibly see a quick and dirty on how to set that up? Would love to set up an automated water change system due to the fact I’m constantly gone from the house! Just want to ensure it’s not going to fail overall because of one component. You guys are awesome by the way!
Awesome videos! Just ordered 2 75 gallon tanks for a mixing station and planning on AWC with the Apex dos. One question, how are people connecting the piping for the dos (the fresh saltwater) to the saltwater tank? I have not seen any good examples.
Question: can you control let’s say the Red Sea ato top off system with the Apex system control? I’m new to the reefing world and I’d like to know what can be controlled with what before I spend any money…..and thank you for your time, love the videos 🤙🏻
Question is...how do you get those low water sensors mounted on the tank? I am going to be doing 2 500 gallon 72 inch tall tanks and there is no way to reach the low level of the tank. Do you use the string method? Those are awfully small holes. Thanks!
I’ve really enjoyed the series. Perfect timing too as I am designing my mixing station to fit in a closet behind my 120 gallon aquarium. One question though… Is it ok to have the freshwater tank in a mixing station double as the ATO reservoir? I’m limited on space and would rather not have a separate tank for the ATO system.
Mark, it would be great if you can tell us how you handle well water that has high amounts of CO2. I know you can pump it into a tank and run an air stone or recirculate it then go to the RODI unit. However, I am looking for automated suggestions and betting that you have handled this previously. Thank you.
Shouldn’t you consider a salinity checker on the saltwater mixing cat before it starts putting water into the tank for automatic water change? And a safety programming that doesn’t let the water change occur unless the salinity is within target range?
ATF intheHouse Salinity is checked by hand before water changes are started. Given that the total system volume on this tank is over 800 gallons, if a couple gallons of low salinity salt water and get changed into the tank, it is not going to make a difference
I thought about this also. With the Apex, you could put a conductivity probe in the mixing vat, but I'm not sure how accurate it would be, especially with varying water level.
Your a genius! Amazing work!
Thanks
Ahh so many questions.. need to pick his brain! Really digging these vids!
Justin McGinnis ask away!

Justin McGinnis the auto flush is not available as an add on.

Where do you source your drain pans and containers for you mix stations?
Nice System!
Thanks for the videos

Awesome! You can use the freshwater tank for top off if you want.
Do the vats get cleaned or is it a once setup, it’s good to go thing? I’m currently using brute buckets and clean once every 6 months.
Can you use GHL platform?

Hello does anyone know the neptune programming he used for the storage tanks to fill and shut off?
Great design. Very complicated. What’s something like this cost? How do you clean the mixing vats?
ATF intheHouse vats are cleaned with a brush on a telescoping handle
Doesn’t the buckets of salt usually advertise the amount of gallons it make at a lower salinity?
Mattyice some do
If one wanted to have you install such a build how would we go about doing that?
He has a website and email in description.
Ok thanks
at last you are in sync
Stef only the live videos are sync issues. We are working through it
👍🏽
So he always has the tap water running on this system.
Daniel J Brandriff meaning?
