My grandmother house was made of red oxide. Soothing and earthy feeling. One maintenance issue with this is, spill of any acidic fruit juice like lemon or tamarind will discolour the floor.

In bengal also almost every house has red oxide flooring.
I am always fascinated with traditional houses and especially red oxide flooring.. I wish to lay red oxide flooring in my house to be constructed in a year. But the cost per square feet makes me to reconsider the idea becoz it's tooooo high if we even compare with granite. If cost made affordable, this traditional flooring have a bright future.

In Kerala also same red & Black oxide is used in old house
Rs180 per sqft is huge difference between the sqft rate of tiles. It's not cost effective.
In Patna Bihar, we get it done around ₹45 per sq. ft. including everything. Yeah polishing may cost ₹8-10 extra

I live in a old home ..it's already filled with redoxide floor .. it has not damaged mauch nor colur has diminished .. ( some rooms little damages are there ) but it's manageable. . So I don't know how much would have coated that time .. now a days ..ungues if you wanna get these oxide floors it will be cheaper.. compared to granite or tiles. .per sqfeet..

Does it suit for cold weather houses/ apartments? Higher floor apartments have cooler environment and a little colder floors. Does it suit there?

Floor will not be slippery ? In such polished floors , whether it is mosaic or marble, if water spills , it is not visible and chances for skid is more

v useful video. youtube channels sd b used like this i mean to give usefultips and otherthings. some cooking channels show their home routine cooking for tge day and all who want that? ir s like our grandma gping round other houses telling morn and eveng samayal etc. atleast they visit other houses. so i find no dofference in the channels showing their home preparation routines etc with our grandparents doing the same in person.

Athangudi Tiles Price alone Rs.60 per sqft n transport charge n laying charge will be extra. But for oxide flooring Rs.180 per Sqft for laying n material charge.
@@Tamilillam Consider a normal title flooring of 80/ft² title, then add labour 20/ft² because one 10x10 room can be marked, layed by 2 labours in half a day then grouting and cleaning will be at the end, so lets consider 1 full day for which they get ₹1000 each. Then 1.5" cement and sand mix at 11/ft² so total 80+20+11 = 111/ft². Now how do they justify their cost to be economical?

Very few GOOD people for this job today . Always see the persons work before giving the work. Good finish more important than rate.
Quality of water is very critical. Try using only drinking quality soft water at all stages. Olden days only well water was used.
Hard water will give poor finish.

For red oxide floor Cost u mentioned here is too costly instead have option to go to epoxy flooring will cost half then that & solid floor too with same features 👍
Epoxy flooring is synthetic which is not good for health where as oxidised flooring is natural

Athangudi tiles cost 60 per sq tiles rate 1mm only above coating.
I said both are good for health only. Athangudi Tiles charge alone Rs.60 n transport charge n laying charge will come extra.
Based on design pattern price will vary... It starts from 45 to 70 Rs excluding laying cost.
How long will the flooring last ? What about heavy furniture.?

the cost wise this is bombing, Ie Avg Quality verified tile is costing 30 to 50 Rs per Qft and the labor cost is around 15 Rs per Qft then the total cost will be around 65 Rs per Qft
