This is only my second video of yours and I couldn't agree more. This year I bought a stripped back set up. All eBay bargains with a rod reel and spey line coming in at well under 200. I decided this year I was even going to give up on sink tips and put weight on the fly and adjust leaders for depth. I hooked more fish this year than any other and I've fished the river for 3 years. I've a collection of shooting heads and running lines that I'll not look at now as the simple old fashioned way works for me. In my opinion the ne gear is like fancy flies. It's designed more on catching your wallet than a fish.
I hate buying new gear... I use a piece of gear that works until it doesn’t work no longer. It seems to take a long time to get any skunk off a new piece of gear that goes for my hunting bows as well as my fishing rods.🍻
Yeah, it's unusual that way, we have many really expensive rods to choose from ,but I love my Vision GT4 Catapult 3 piece and will until the day she dies. Have a great season Last glance.

Yes it is Marçin , and we do like shiny but we prefer shiny new shiny Salmon first then the gear can follow. 🤣
