- Drexciya - Rare Interview with Liz Copeland (May 2002).
Background track titles added in the upper right.
A truly inspiring interview from an individual 100% dedicated to their art-form.
James Stinson died in Sept 2002 of heart complications, only a matter of months after this interview, aged just 32.
I didn't want this interview to fall under the radar of old and new Drexciya fans.
in tears by the end of the interview. what a beautiful being. endless respect an gratitude.
wnkrs totally. Feel very lucky to find drexciya's music everyday.
James Stinson Rest in Peace
Irreplacable Detroit legend, sad loss, but the music he made will make sure that he can never be forgotten.
best 27 minutes of my life
Beautiful Hero
"Experiments must continue, even until death." Fitting quote from Stinson. RIP

genius
dj stingray thankyou
Infinite.
Superb. Thank you. Peace.
GENIOUS
to blame a generation? now that would be a mistake. they could have easily blamed us too.
I was a personal friend fo James and spent many moments just listening and learning from him.
I only said what i said. Because knowing him as i did i know he would be pretty upset with the state of things today.
It has nothing to do with age. didnt for him never did for me. It has to do with integrity and this is the sadly lacking element to most things these days.
Also check this link : search " Clarence G - Data Transfer"
here on TH-cam. It's also James Stinson, old electro.
what about gerald donald ??
GRACIAS

At the very end, he says "even if I die next week or whatever, there'll still be a lot of music left. I have a nice stockpile"... So what are they waiting for to put out his unreleased tracks ??!! That'd fulfill his wishes and ours too... RIP.
Or death & transferal of the entity...
too superior for this world rest in drexciyan great interview thanks for sharing

Or death & transferal of the entity...
There was actually another interview on air with both Gerald Donald and James Stinson broadcast on 88.3 WCBN FM Ann Arbor. Brendan Gillen did the interview on his show Crush Collision. This was before the station archived shows digitally, and the only remaining recording of it on a cassette tape was lost. I would have loved to hear that. Great upload
somebody please put this up, somebody had to record wcbn shit
Was this ever found?
this makes the whole story around Drexciya even more deep
THANK YOU James Marcel Stinson for everything you've done and for all the innovations and electronic music projects
Blessings to anyone here....Submerge brethren!
When I feel like giving up, I listen to this and it gives me the drive to keep making music. It also reminds me to ignore the noise around me. I have endless respect for this guy and owe so much to him.
Last 7seconds of this interview, the music burning out & winding down, is this beings vessel for human recognised exhistence coming to an end. Peace, rest, thrive again & thankyou. Sincerely.
The man RIP Mr.Stinson ..

its good to hear a voice behind the sound. STILL cryptic, STILL way below the surface, STILL pure. thank you.
his words are strong and are still living through the other people places...
Proper legend
I think both got really sexy voices...It was not only interesting, it was very pleasant to listen...
The muthafuckin man RIP Mr.Stinson
I stumbled on you while trying to learn more about who "The Tuss" was. I didn't know about Drexciya when they were around and I just wanted to thank you for all the music and info you've posted. You're the reason I now know about Drexciya and I love this music. :) Many thanks and please keep it coming. ^^

thank you so much for sharing this
He would hate most dribble that is called techno today.
respecting someone cause it is hip yet still indulge in the mindless, souless shite, inst understanding or staying down. as he use to say.
Oh man. You made my day, Drexciya means so much to me ever since I heard You Don't Know.
It's crazy what these guys managed to do in such a short time. Absolutely mind boggling the creative potential that was harnessed.
"People like James Stinson is what life is all about" Very TRUE!! Inspiring!
Pure dedication to his craft. Respect for that
What an inspiration
Go for it what ever your heart desires ♥️
The Greatest Electronic Music of All Time: Drexciya!

"love each other... love the music...and go for it."
the man was/is a HERO 100%ER.....
thank you Lardoson
lol @ "I'm not enjoying myself"
And that's why Detroit Techno is like nothing else in the whole of modern culture.
If you search for " The Martian - Search Your Feelings - Red Planet (Underground Resistance) - 1993" , here on TH-cam you can see the whole Drexciya crew - all black.
James Stinson is the person who appears in the picture at exactly 2:00 mins into the video. I think thats the only picture of him ever released...
from the soul. what a legend
Amazing. Great share!
Thank you for this, peace.
Wow! Hadn’t noticed this upload, thanx for sharing!! Drexiya 4 ever!

I am a new Drexciya fan and I am so hyped to dig through his stuff and get it all! There's some of his stuff I can't seem to find online though. Are there any older Drexciya fans willing to help me find them?
Shafeeque Khan What are you looking for exactly? Also have in mind that Drexciya is not just James Marcel Stinson, but Gerald Donald aswell, who is still rulling the scene with more scientific electro.
what good people around here, so nice to see.....Submerge! blessings
how dare anyone dislike this?.. Soulless, disrespectful c*nts.
a truly clever, passionate man giving his last interview.
Thanks for posting this.
Fascinating, very touching when he mentions death. Does anyone know when the interview was?
Thx for sharing this precious footage !
"Love each other
Love the music
Go for it
Whatever your heart desires"
The final public words of visionary James Stinson
Remarkably eerie listening to him talk about his health, and leaving detroit.. :(
legend, gone before his time.. Although if he saw the current electro revival going on presently he'd probably be disgusted ;)
so rare
He sounds like a badass. Awesome music.
10000 thanks man!!
what a beautiful, amazing man.
Truly inspiring - and a good interviewer doing this too... :-)
This is a gem, thankyou for posting it. Drexciya is sadly missed, a true artist.
Hopefully some day soon someone will release some of his unreleased material
