    When I reached out to Talaria of Canada, I was told GR was used to calibrate the speedo when you change the rear sprocket. I also took a look at some teardown diagrams, the gearbox has three fixed gears bathed in oil. Mechanically, there is nothing to support variable ratios outside of changing the rear sprocket.
    I would like to know what ratios apply to what size rear sprocket since the differences between each ratio varies.

      Hmm! That's very interesting. I had thought the same thing when I originally saw the different gear ratios. That Facebook page led me to think a bit differently. I'm glad to hear your perspective on it also, as it makes the different ratios even more interesting. I'm sure some perform better with a different sprocket! Definitely keeping it at the stock ratio until more info is released on them. Thank you for your info man!👊🏼

      Tested it yesterday. When I changed GR to either extreme whether it be the 4:7 or the 9:1 bike performed exactly the same and the only difference was the speedometer would read 20 MPH or 80 MPH at full speed vs 47 MPH in the stock

      @@HIB801 yeah man, I guess I just felt heavy placebo🤣 thank you for letting me know how it went for you! I'm going to reach back out to that Facebook page and question them lol

      @@motortherapyinc The gear ratio options are there so if you change the sprockets on the bike - you will be running a different gear ratio than the stock setting. Say you go up to a bigger size rear sprocket - You can select the ratio you're running now in the menu and then the speedo will be accurate again. Nothing internally is changing. I'm assuming the person you spoke to means if you gear the bike too tall (for increased top speed but less punch at low speed) it would put some strain on the bike.

      @@BrettDavis514 thank you for all the information bro! Turns out the guy was more guessing than anything. I think the gear ratio menu is just for recalibrating the speed-o for different size rear sprockets when and if you decide to change them. I don't think it affects the actual performance at all. Might just be placebo you're feeling lol.

    • @motortherapyinc
      @motortherapyinc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought that as well, but did see the speed increase quite a bit quicker & didn't hit as high of a top speed lol. Thank you for the comment bro! Hopefully Talaria will come out with something explaining it.

    Cap - capacity : basically amp hours help to estimate the range of your battery . Voltage sets the high water mark for your top speed (max rpm) or maximum total volume of work your motor can achieve , and Amps are basically torque … how fast the motor can get up to its top speed or the intensity of fluid inflation pressure or ramping acceleration of the current to get your motor to that high water line of maximum work.

    Those ratio options are for recalibrating the speedo for different size rear sprockets. The transmission has a fixed gear ratio. It's very possible top speed could be affected by the ratio setting as the computer will be fooled by selecting the wrong ratio, most likely on eco mode. I'm using a 52 tooth rear sprocket, it would be nice if talaria had a chart for ratio settings for different size sprockets. FYI, my talaria came with a 44 tooth rear sprocket. You can still use the stock chain guard with the 52 tooth sprocket.
