    One of the best looking cars of all times. I live in mexico city and do remember when I was a little boy there were quite a few of the running In the streets. The moment a friend's older brother took me for a ride, changed the way I see cars forever. It is the reason I studied mechanical engineering and the reason I have worked for the automotive industry for the last 20 years

      Wow, ive never had that kind of luck, the most rare thing ive seen in CDMX was a bunch of japanese imported cars, never had any luck on any european legends

    I like that he didn’t go with the cliché that he’s a custodian of the car caring for it for next generations of owners.

    I was just too young to appreciate this car when I was a kid but I lusted after its successors the A310 and A610, all Alpine's have been sensational looking cars for the day.

      +Tang Stew Avec l'autophobie ambiante en France, je préfère les voir partir vers des contrées davantage aptes à accepter des personnes de bon goût. Quand on voit des Porsche de passionnés ayant economisé longtemps brûler lors des manifestations...

    • @izzelyy3189
      @izzelyy3189 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      La nouvelle Alpine pourrait peut être relancer l'attrait des français pour les belles voitures. Mais c'est vrai que la France à complètement abandonné le secteurs des sportives. Il n'y a eu que des version sportives de modèles "tous publiques" (mégane RS, clio RS, RCZ R...) et non pas des modèles sportifs plus exclusifs.

    • @izzelyy3189
      @izzelyy3189 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tang Stew Il faut espérer que les gens achèterons beaucoup de ces voitures et les prix en occasion vont baisser par la suite. Il suffit de regarder les prix d'un cayman aujourd'hui. Ce serait génial que la nouvelle Alpine et ses descendantes connaissent le même sort!

      Les Dinalpin ont été produites au Mexique il me semble. Elles ne sont donc pas réellement parties, n'ayant jamais posé les roues dans les contrées hexagonales.

    One of the iconic cars of the past era. And at the same time, i feel one that is overlooked and that's despite its heritage. Few cars can claim its status, fewer look as pretty, fewer feel as it does. It's not up there with the grands, it's nowhere near the middle. I've always felt this car was in its own class, alone, yet better for it.

      +breizhilien The cars for sale in America were mostly Peugeot, Renault and Citroen.
      It seemed like only musty college Professors and oddballs would buy these cars.
      French cars broke down regularly and the repair costs were high. A French car nut could usually keep one running by collecting a backyard full of them.
      As a child My wife passed out in the Mohave desert riding in the back seat of a rear engine Dauphine; my Dad had a 1959 Simca, the brakes suddenly quit, he smashed it through the front doors of a Church. First gear broke twice, the third time he sold it, as is.

      +Mr. Johnson Perhaps this may have been said at some point in the long past, but I don't think this would be true in today's world. And honestly I wouldn't mind if Renault were to start to sell cars in North America if it meant that we would have access to the likes of the Megane RS and the upcoming all-new Alpine.

      +Ian Miles Peugeot, Renault and Citroen left the USA because Americans had become used
      to Japanese levels of reliability from their cars, and the reliability
      of the French cars was, to put it charitably, horrific.
      Alfa and Fiat left around the same time for very much the same reasons.
      Americans justifiably would not but such unreliable cars. This is not my opinion, this is a fact.

    Does anyone the difference between the Mexico made Dinalpin and the Dieppe made Alpines? It seems to lack the foglights, anything else?

      There's also the Spainish made A110s. Each CAR is individual, let alone what each factory did, then add in what each team did (remember, almost all these cars were raced). Of the 7 or so I've worked on, not one is ultimately the same. We have 2 in the workshop at the moment (one French, one Spanish), and there are so many subtle differences the mind boggles.

      +M.I. Fadhil incorporated foglights arrived later on. But initially, they used to produce it like this in Dieppe. (sadly a lot of the old cars with only 2 headlights were modified to look like the new ones)
      Actually the set of wheels is also the ones sold at Dieppe at the beginnings, so visually, there is nothing different apart the signature in the front...

      +rene Porsche Also the "issue" is that all A110 were hand build and they were meant to get the latest tech from Renault, so there is a gigantic number of different engines and engine adaptations...
      some of the old guys say: all the Alpines are unique...

    You have beautiful videos, but damn you are bad with naming them. Everything starts with "This" which is then followed by a couple of adjectives. Just start with a name of the car straightaway and add something after a dash or colon. Much better for the navigation and won't look cheesy.
