The Renault Alpine A110 is NOT forgotten it is a legend. I am the proud owner of a Renault-Gordini powered Lotus Europa S2 Type 54. The Renault engine and trans axle are superbly engineered and even had lip seal rear main gaskets for the engine in a time of rope seal rear mains, this was 54 years ago. The engine is a superb all alloy Hemi 4 cylinder, and mine is tuned up so much it can keep up with Porsche 930's and 6litre V8's. That little angry 4 cylinder is a beast and at 6,000 rpm it has a scream unlike any other engine.

In Brazil the Renault Alpine A 110 was also licensed and built from mid 1960’s to late 60’s.
Willis Overland who during that time produced the original Jeep since 1950’s
to expand its line to passenger cars besides its own designed in US Aero Willis, which was a full sized car for Brazilian standards, it also went in partnership to bring the Renault Dauphine.
Since the Dauphine became a comercial success, Willis Overland of Brazil, later started manufacturing the A110 licensed from Alpine. There it was called Willis Interlagos. Basically much of mechanicals came from the Dauphine.
I am not quite sure but I think Emerson Fittipaldi who was twice F1 champion in 1972 and 1974 drove a Willis Interlagos in the mid 60’s in Brazil.
A convertible version was also produced solely in Brazil.
That I am very familiar because my mother’s neighbor had one and he kept in top notch collector’s condition.
The Interlagos it is one of most desirable collector’s models of that era in Brazil.

This car was quite cheap to buy for a long time but price has gone up in the past 20 years (finally in a way, but too bad of you want one like me). They are around 60k now if im not mistake. Very nice pics. Great. Thank you. Willy's of Brazil also produced Alpines. There were also Le Mans racing variants: the sleeker Alpine 210's. The successor to the A110 was the contemporized design of the A310, which when released, a magazine stated: 'Now Turin is no longer the only place in the world where they know how to make sports cars.' I want one. Will settle for a Willy's version please.

In Brazil, Willys Overland made a version of the A108 called Willys Interlagos from nearly 1962 to 1966. The A110 never came to the Brazilian market, I believe, because of the acquisition (and the end of activities) of Willys Overland by the Ford Company in 1967.

Some comments have already mentioned a Brazilian version of the Alpine. It was produced as a sport/street car (series), named Interlagos, with the lines of the Alpine A108, and mechanical items from the Renault Dauphine, which was already being produced in Brazil.
From 1961 to 1966, 822 cars were sold. And several more adapted for competition, for the factory's sports team. The Fittipaldi brothers (Emerson and Wilson) were some of the team's pilots.
As a curiosity, the company was named "Willys-Overland do Brasil", brazilian owned and named after the American company, already purchased by Kaiser Motors by that time. Still more curiously, Ford purchased Brazilian Willys by 1967.

Yes, one is gross horsepower, the other is net horsepower, which has been used in the US since 1972. That 307 engine in 1970 was 210 hp. And the 302 Z-28 version of that Chevrolet small block, put out 480 hp in race trim, in 1969.

    Hello from Brazil !
Just for your knowledge , the Alpine A108 was built in Brazil by Willys Overland ( under Renault licencing) from 1961 to 1966. This version was named Willys Interlagos( as the Brazilian race track). The car had a berlineta and convertible versions. Also the engine was the Renault 900 cc ( 53 HP).The body was the first built in fiberglass in South America.
    Tks a Lot !!
