All Social Security funds can't be garnished to pay credit garnishments should have stated that in thumbnail and video.

Some incorrect information here. Student loans cannot garnish SSI and if your only income is SSI you can easily be placed on Currently not collectible with the IRS. Also the account into which SSI is deposited is protected under a federal rule in effect since 2012 that instructs banks that twice the monthly amount of SS or federal benefits deposited into a bank account is protected from garnishment regardless of the source of funds in the account. So if you get $800 monthly in SSI benefits, $1600 is protected from garnishment by a judgment creditor, regardless of the source of funds in the account at the time of the garnishment.

I beg to differ. My SSDI benefits were in fact, garnished by the govt for a student loan i had not repaid obviously because i had to get on SSDI. Point Blank. I'm from Iowa. Actually, they can do whatever they want.
