    The way I rank up is once you hit a different color. Stay in casual for as long as you need. You’re going to fight the necessary players within your rank especially on cross play. Example I’m a Raijen, so being in casual gives me access to most blue and even Tekken Kings and Gods from time to time. You can put all of your loses to strictly learning and development without risking so much in ranked. Once I feel I’m getting more Ws than Ls is my signal to jump back in until I feel I’ve hit a plateau. Rinse and repeat.

      I found when I try quick play I end up getting much lower quality matches. Might just be me. Seems to work for others.

      Sounds like good advice. I’ll try that. Thank you

      I've done the same, and I get mixed results. Sometimes I get tilted, but when I go back into ranked it feels like the game slows down. Other times I just get smoked on both ends.

      Great advice! I would like to add though, this method may not be for everybody. I’ve seen people follow this path but ultimately became flat out scared to even step foot in ranked since they’re so worried about losing points.

    This is so true. I finally got my Ling to Fujin today, but I was in a hell trying to promote to Battle Ruler for maybe 8 weeks. There were times I wanted to give up. It just wasn’t happening. But I didn’t GIVE UP. Your channel helped me keep positive. Thank you!! ❤️

    Its crazy because I’ve been trying to use more moves with Jin lately. Before I didn’t overthink, but now when I play I tend to overthink and incorporate everything else 😭. Awesome video, and I appreciate the advice! 😁✌🏾

    Youve been getting better each time i view your stream Tricky. Its encouraging fir me as im in Kishin and am vulnerable to tilting and it causing me to down spiral= losing streak.
    Your topic also makes me wonder if people who are "hard stuck" for some time is really a result of choosing not to adapt and sticking with what got them to that plateau.

    • @TrickyEileen
      @TrickyEileen  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      that's exactly what i think happens. they refused to adapt to the opponents and are lacking skills needed to push further.

    Our Lady of Positive Mental Attitude grants us her blessing. Praise her truths!
    Every loss is a lesson. Grinding a new skill means some fluctuation in performance while you try to add it into your mind with the old skills. I'm going through it learning Guile, trying to add new buttons and combos on top of the ones I've been using. Lots of misinputs, lots of missed hit confirms. But the progress is starting to shine through.
    Thank you Tricky for the video. You're a true champion.

    I’m moving up and learning to be ok with losing rank it’s about the journey, but on the video I totally agree but do you think playing casuals would be better or stay in rank,because the consistency of fighters in your level range?

    Maintaining this mentality is really hard if you're accostumed with the normal way of getting rewarded when learning something (BIG points, numbers, ranks...) even the way we consume things nowadays at a very fast pace... Being patient and recognizing small steps is so crucial in this process but so out of norm. It's certainly possible, but maybe some bad habits have to go away.

    • @TrickyEileen
      @TrickyEileen  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is outside the norm for sure. It’s the real way to excellence tho. You will suck before you stop sucking

      @@TrickyEileen For sure, and I'm glad that you show this and inspire people to do the same. I learned a lot of things that I could apply outside fighting games because I wanted to get better at them, you can really change lifes for the better with this.

    Why not use new techniques in Quick Match first? Then when you feel like you're crispy, go back to rank with it. That way you won't risk losing rank matches and the pressure won't be so bad. Unless you thrive playing under pressure, which many players do I guess

    • @TrickyEileen
      @TrickyEileen  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      because quick match opponents are not trying to murder ur points like ranked players are. You want full intensity from the opponent to practice. Rank PNG doesn't matter. just let yourself de-rank while you learn it, you will get those points back because you are still better. Part of the goal is to derank while you're working on the thing you're trying because you're not good enough at using it yet. So you SHOULD be fighting weaker opponents until you master it. Then you'll rank back up and even go beyond

    • @saviormonroe-lh7oh
      @saviormonroe-lh7oh 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TrickyEileen For practice purposes just to try it out on a moving opponent, I'd personally rather do quick match. I have a Feng at Kishin, and I can't see myself practicing my parries in ranked without at least seeing what's the best time to use them. But to each their own. There is no wrong way to learn long as you learning

    • @burni988
      @burni988 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@saviormonroe-lh7oh The only reason I could see for you to prefer practicing new things in quick match, is to not lose the rank but correct me if I'm wrong. If I am right though, then I feel like it would be better to shift away from that mindset of tying to preserve rank. You might think that you are comfortable with a new thing in quick matches, only to find that it isn't working so well vs ranked opponents. And losing rank that way when you practiced it in quick match to preserve your rank, is only going to make you feel even worse if you then derank.

    • @dontpetentertainment3450
      @dontpetentertainment3450 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@TrickyEileen Quick match is full of try hards and you might even encounter some Tekken God players there so you'd still be able to practice the new tech in intense situations without losing your rank

    • @saviormonroe-lh7oh
      @saviormonroe-lh7oh 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@burni988 it's to not lose my rank when I know I'm not sharp at a technique. I try to approach rank with the mindset of a tournament. I wouldn't go to a tournament trying out new things I haven't even gotten the science down for, so I don't do it in ranked. Now have I tried some new things in ranked and got beaten, absolutely. But at least I understand why. Going into rank trying something I'm completely oblivious as to how it actually works just doesn't work for me.

    I would strongly advise against ever intentionally doing anything that will hurt you down the line. That would naturally include using highly-punishable moves that top players never use, that work at lower levels. These scrub killer moves and flowcharts will lead to a brick wall and you will have to re-learn Tekken all over. Same with anything in life. Never take the easy path. Nothing worth having is ever easy.
