  • This tutorial will show you how to make a beautiful rustic farmhouse style table for less than $100. I stained the top and whitewashed the legs. It is a very simple table that doesn’t require many tools or clamps when you’re building it. I ended up using a Kregg jig with pocket screws and wood glue to hold it together. You can continue to work on the table after you have joined the boards without waiting on the wood glue to dry.
    Dimensions of the table are: 60”L 43”W 30”H. It’s the perfect size for 6 chairs or 4 chairs and a bench. Below you will find a list of the required materials to keep the table under $100. If you already have the stain, paint and screws, you may even be able to build it for around $50. Check it out, and I’m sure you will see that you can build this very easily and quickly if you try.

    other "easy diy table" channels: first you cut all your lumber on your table saw, next you resize it with your miter saw, then you use your table router, next you put it through your planer, then you join it all together, i like to use my bandsaw to get it right. when clamping i like to use 15 of these 40 inch clamps. afterwards take your belt sander and finish it all down"
    me: "okay so for this $100 table first let me get $5000 worth of tooling"
    this guy: one miter saw. one drill. 2 clamps, and a sander.
    a true diy quick table

      Thank you! I agree, it is so frustrating to watch channels like that where they use tools no one can afford. I’m sure I will have those tools eventually, but I don’t see the point in making videos like that unless they are for entertainment purposes. No one has that stuff, and if they do, they probably don’t need to watch a DIY video on how to build a table. Lol

    I use a Kregg jig R3 model. It’s about $30. Then I join them with 2” pocket screws. Kregg makes the screws to go with their tools and they are actually cheaper than most hardware.

      Did you uy the machines to cut the wood or rented? I have nothing. It would be a great help to know what did you use here to make the table. Thanks in advance!

      I own my equipment. For this project, I used a table saw, a miter saw, a drill, a impact gun, and a Kregg jig. You could build this with only a circular saw, a speed square, and a drill with the Kregg jig if needed.

    I started getting into woodworking recently. I just got done building a bridge bookcase for our guest bedroom and I’ve been scouring the Internet for affordable projects I can do next. I think I found it! (Goodbye ikea table!) Thanks for sharing! (^•^)

    Thanks for the video! You've inspired me to try building this. I don't have a miter saw, but have a circular saw. Can I use that to somehow square the edges of the center pieces of the table? If not, with a miter saw, I'm guessing it'd be helpful to buy one that slides?

    • @DIYMAN
      @DIYMAN  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem! Yes you can. You can use a speed square to make your cuts perfect. They’re like $10-15

    I made the table and chairs. Turned out really good. About 2 months of building the table the center of it started to pull apart. I am wondering if you have noticed this on any of your builds?

    • @DIYMAN
      @DIYMAN  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I did have the same issue on the table. I filled the gaps with gorilla glue and filled the top portion with wood filler then recoated it with polyurethane. The lumber has dried significantly since it was new, and it hasn’t pulled apart any more. I think the mitered ends on the table we’re the root cause. Next table I build, I won’t miter the edges

      @@DIYMAN Hello, we have finished the chairs and are now onto the table. What exactly do you mean when you say you won't miter the edges next time? Are you referring to the angled cuts?

    • @DIYMAN
      @DIYMAN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I would recommend just cutting the boards for the table top straight at 60”. It’s easier, and you don’t have to deal with the miter joints separating

    What size lag screws did you use for tour legs just curious how stable were the legs I noticed you didn’t use any kind of corner bracing on them. I’m thinking about making this and I despise thing that wobble lol.

    • @DIYMAN
      @DIYMAN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe I used 3” screws. This design is braced by the 2x4s. I’ve built this style quite a few times and I’ve never noticed any wobble
