    Thanks for this video - very informative! I want to replace my soft top in the future, so it's great to know how to get the old stuff out. Also, thumbs up for straight-pipe Miata!

    LMFAO Sean, when you said that bit about straight piping the Miata you seriously looked like Walt JR from Breaking Bad. No offense bro!

    Hello Dimly Lit Garage,
    Thank you for your video posts. This one in particular helped me very much for reassembly of my 01 MR2/S that has been apart for more than a year. Interior was stripped and after time putting the puzzle back together to OEM specs is not always easy.
    Now a 2ZZ car and hoping to drive this weekend.....just in time for winter in MI....LOL!
    Cheers!
    Mr. P

    Cheers mate your video helped a lot! The article on Spyderchat doesn't mention the 4 bolts you need to remove hidden down right at the front! Got mine off now but the problem I have with it is one side of the frame isn't sitting properly stopping the hood going down/up. I thought it would be easy to 'bend' it back into place but it's a puzzle!!

    This was a very helpful video, but have you made a video showing how to put a new top on? If not could you either make one? Is it what you just did, but in reverse?

    "It is so hot!" if only there were some sort of air-pushing device nearby to help remedy the situation ;)
    Great video though! I need to replace my top soon.

    Hey Jake - I have a 2004 Spyder that is in great shape except for two things, the soft top and the leather trim on the doors. I was thinking of replacing the soft top myself but I've never tried something like this before. How many hours do you think this project to replace the top took you? I may have to double that time for how long it will take me. Please let me know - thanks

    Hi, what is the weight of the top ?

    Do you really need to remove the plastic panels and frame if you only want to replace the existing softop with a new one? Your video is great, but you removed a lot of hardware for your project. Can I leave the internal body parts (panels and trays) if planning on replacing the softtop? thanks.....

    I was about to pay someone to change the top on my mr2 but after watching your video, I kinda want to do it myself. Is it hard to install the new one?

      @dimlylitgarage9785  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never installed one but I think you could definitely do it! It may be helpful to have another set of hands to help also.

    Stop moving the camera! no point in zooming if it can't focus fast enough. Keep it in one place.
