1:01 - As a musician but not a pianist/keyboardist I always loved that chromatic descending passage... I had the DVD box set of the first 4 Rocky films and it had this section at the menu for Rocky IV and I would just leave it on to repeat for hours on end.... Love it! Big prog rock/fusion fan and a lot of it is down to you Mr. DiCola.

I'm a guitarrist but Vince di Cola made the best instrumental music of the 80s, he's my inspiration.
I've listened to this song and the rest of DiCola's music from Rocky IV non stop since 1985. Never get tired of it. Never! But from 4:52 till the end it's one of the most moving, amazing and exhilarant pieces of music ever played. One of my 10 favorite moments in the history of music. Vince DiCola is so criminally underrated, he is a genius.

Vince DiCola music is such that it conveys emotion so well - the changes in temp and pitch are so numerous its like he wants to explore everything instead of giving a boring predicable soundtrack. Creativity sounds like Vince Di Cola.

Why wasn’t the version they used in the movie on the soundtrack. I preferred the movie version. This one is awesome too though. I also played it 1.25 speed. Works too. Bit a hint too fast. 1.1 or 1.15 would be great. 💪

Back in the fall of 1996, I had the privilege of playing a marching band rendition of DiCola's submission/audition for Rocky 5 with the Fresno State Marching Band. Even got to take the field with the man himself (along with like a thousand high school players) on "band day". Probably one of the most amazing musical experiences of my life.
I wonder if CSUF still has recordings of those songs in their archives.
I was 10 years old (1985) when I first heard this song. Its a classic and makes me go out running in all weather. What ever happens in your life there are a few Rocky songs that help. This is one of them.
His musical perspective is unique. TH-cam should have more videos about him. Shame :(
