Re the weather here Bob. Neither locally but good growing season and a cracker frost means sweating on idiots with cigarette butts later in the year! 🙄 My only experience with sailboats was as a kid at the beach near Cairns. We used to have a small boat for fishing on the close-in reefs. Got a bit of rowing practice when the motor wouldn't start but 1 day a retired old timer who used to track up and down the coast with the weather put us both in a bathtub-sized little sailing dingy and got me to row a bit off the shore. By the time we had the sail half up we were back on the beach. So crank up the oars again! I must have rowed from the beach to Double Island and back but we never did get any real sailing done! 🥴😂😂
Come on now, you enjoyed it really! I've done 70,000 of sailing with yachts but very little in dinghies. I enjoy the challenge of it, and it's cheap! That little boat cost me all of £100!
Yes, lifting keel. You should really have it right down when you're trying to sail to windward. I kept forgetting, plus it needs a new bit of bungee to keep it.down. It's also useful to let you know when you're about to go aground! Very relaxing afternoon. No crabs anywhere on me mate!
yes latest FW but as I said in my other reply I doubt SJCam are supporting it now. I reviewed and tested a few SJCam's.They had a good reputation but I don't think it's as good now?
Hi Charlie, it was sent to me 2 years ago for review for free by a distributor. The audio was really bad and I told the distributor that. And SJCam dropped the camera very soon afterwards. It's a shame really as video quality and colour is very good. I haven't had a chance to test the camera they replaced it with. My review is here th-cam.com/video/KKiUl_6XjCE/w-d-xo.html 4K clips and vs SJ7 here th-cam.com/video/XZj6SK5Zz5E/w-d-xo.html and new FW test here th-cam.com/video/PcoXMzOVLL8/w-d-xo.html and I am of course using latest. I don't think SJCam even support it now and it's hard to find things like a skeleton case for it, I've been looking!
@@AndrewNewton They were the good old days. Simple RC planes. No Covid. No big queues for ferries at Dover. Fuel you could afford to buy and cheap dinghy kits courtesy of Barry Bucknell! I just Googled, the prototype was first shown at the Boat Show in 1963! Amazing.
Lovely, brings back fond memories sailing my mirror dinghy sail no 1963.
Thanks! I must get out again soon.

That was relaxing Bob, is the centre board the keel? I expected to see a crab drop out of your boot 😁👍

Looked lovely on the water, however bobbing about on the water doesn't agree with me. 😁
How about a nice cruise ship then? 😍 x
Yep. Chunder down under hasn't agreed with yours truly for more than 50 years either! 🤪😁
Wonderful. Takes me back to about 1974
