Goku is a martial artist, and that competitive spirit that got him stronger are his motivations.
Gohan is a superhuman among them, and doesn't have the same drives as Goku and Vegeta, but he is getting gains from keeping pace with them.
They are two different people with varied powers.

@@dlrc6986 why wouldn't gohan be surprised by broly's power? He's the strongest super saiyan there is. But he was just surprised for a moment when Broly transformed and used a budokai tenkaichi 3 grab to chuck him away. And it wasn't that Broly was overpowering him. They seemed even. Beerus even mentioned how Gohan's energy control is way better.
This is why I feel more comfortable listening to you and your breakdown of this chapter than other reviewers out there. Cause you know exactly what you’re talking about. I honestly loved the MUI Goku vs Beast Gohan fight. I loved the Gohan vs Broly fight, it was done exceptionally well. And I agree with you on what you said about Goku didn’t actually forgot about Pan. I’m taking your word for it over the other fandom who takes it so seriously when in actual fact it was never meant to be taken seriously at all. I think several of folks fail to understand about Goku’s character, is that he’s always been like this through OG DB, Z, GT & Super, so it’s nothing new.
Anyway I enjoyed your breakdown review for this chapter very much.
Some fans will miss judge things or be clueless and get mad at stuff it's best to just ignore/worry only about the things you've chosen to enjoy more about the sires and what new chapter came out what character moments were great to you instead anyway no need to care about online discourse and nonsense it's all nothing but funny ta me and I don't take that stuff too seriously anymore 😂

I think you misunderstand the Pan joke. It's likely a food based pun. A Japanese word playing on Bread. So GOku was wondering why Piccolo would pick up some bread at a school which came out wrong. Just a surface level joke that isn't meant to be read too deeply
Was never stated to be a food based joke, and goku never denied forgetting pan
you were half right cuz gohan can snap on command now but he doesn't keep that power cuz he surpassed goku's speed when he snapped but after goku went back into the form gohan couldn't touch him
We all ready know how great Goku is day one he grows up to become this powerful fighter we see now so imagine that amazing guy ended up having kids they'd be even more outstanding just like their own father (spoiler alert he does)...

I know the elder Kai's potential unlock is important in understanding Gohan's beast form, but I think continuously harboring back to that technique from the kai as the source is not entirely right. Gohan mentions that Piccolo helped him get this far with Beast. Piccolo has been heavily involved in Gohan's potential unlocking since the beginning. We see that potential truly first unlocking by the Guru on Namek. I believe Beast really is an extension of Namekian techniques, specifically the demon clan. That is why Piccolo continues to be the one who draws Gohan's power out throughout the series and why the Beast has its namesake. The inner beast, or demon, is being released via potential unlock.

Kid Gohan did train before he got ssj2 he trained with goku that’s why people accept the power creep and it’s my favorite scene let’s be honest Gohan written is not great why didn’t Gohan go beast in the TOP it made more sense more risk he snapped because piccolo got beaten up but TOP piccolo got beaten up and his family gonna get erased doesn’t make sense the writers just throw Gohan a new form just too keep Gohan fans happy
Gohan wouldn’t have gone beast during the TOP because he was in full on Saiyan instinct mode he was just excited to fight Kefla, he didn’t have enough energy in the Moro Arc which is why the senzu and pushing his power to the max were necessary in Super Hero prior to beast
@@bluesman402 gohan can snap at any time and get a massive boost but how he does it it’s down too the writers Gohan wasn’t even meant to be in superhero movie it was piccolo movie but they added Gohan anyway and slapped a transformation as well I like the transformation don’t get me wrong but how it was delivered was bad and Gohan power leap is terrible that’s why kid Gohan is the best it was done better
@@dlrc6986 nah that was never the case until post the kai ritual. I don’t see how it’s done bad at all. Also snapping anytime they need is accurate but that’s not really a bad thing, according to most fans logic he should have snapped when the cell jr were wrecking everyone which he didn’t, they really do like to build it up, but the build up for beast is ignored because it’s not contained it spans all the way back to the buu saga and before. Also Gohan being added last minute to a production that started during the Broly film doesn’t take away from what went on with Gohan at all. I don’t know why that’s the go to for folks it doesn’t mean anything.
He is not a freak of nature he just had a lot of power ups that he didn’t deserve and they done unlocked his potential so many times it’s krazy that’s why he so strong and if goku had his potential unlocked twice I’m pretty sure he would be twice as strong
