You should know Dragon, your videos have had a similar effect to the one that Toriyama has had on you for the people that watch them. I feel blessed to be apart of such a genuine family, connected through one of the greatest men I've ever known. Thanks Jordan, Rest in Peace A.T.

I usually don’t care much when celebrities pass away, but Toriyama was a gut punch. I like so many others had my childhood greatly influenced by his work and Dragonball has continued to be one of my favorite franchises now into adulthood. He’s a legend and a role model. Thank you Toriyama for leaving behind such amazing work. Generations in the future will no doubt still know Dragonball and still know his name. Thank you for sharing your perspective Jordan. You have the BEST perspective and breakdowns of his work and mindset. You’ve exposed me to a whole new way of looking at Dragonball over the past year. Rest in peace Toriyama-San 🙏

I love how you poured your heart out for this message. I really agree with all you said. Personally, I love how he motivated other creators as well, he saw the potential they had and didn't hesitate to encourage them, never thinking of them as a rival, but a fellow creator who can influence people in a good way. Specially in the case of Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach, my first and favourite Anime and I respect Akira Toriyama for encouraging him and helping him to bring his story to life. He was without a doubt a Hero.

I had been meaning to read Journey to the West for years because of Akira Toriyama. I was procrastinating until I listened to your channel & speaking on Geekdom's, it motivated me to just read it at the beginning of 2024 - including since the game Black Myth is coming out in August. During that time, yet still now, I have so much on my plate that my life could change - i still found time to read. I just barely finished it on the 3rd, & was thinking also how much of an intellectual Toriyama truly was. It hit me hard since I just finished the story. I always think of Muhammad Ali, Bruce Lee & Akira Toriyama is now apart of that level of role models for me in life. Even though he tended to be a light hearted writer, it's the expression of resolve in the most serious situation shown in his works that impacted my life.

Seems we both have decided to make things inspired by dragon ball. though mine's going to be separated from dragon ball z entirely, it will be very inspired by the OG dragon ball.

Toyama’s relationship with fame reminds me a lot of Harry Potter as it’s one of the very few stories I know that actually delves into the duality of fame and how it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

I was very much looking forward to your response to Akira Toriyama's passing. I appreciate you showing your face for this. I didn't think you were so young because you always speak with so much knowledge and deep insight when you analyze Dragon Ball and Journey to the West, like a college professor. But Akira Toriyama was a teacher to us all, the whole world, millions and millions of people whose lives he irrevocably changed for the better. We all look up to Goku, but we all naturally look up to Akira Toriyama too for creating such a character and such a beautiful story. I have been in shock and grief ever since I heard the news. Hearing from so many people who truly did admire and appreciate him and not take him for granted has helped me cope with his loss. The world will never be the same without him. It is up to us to carry on his teachings and his mentality of kindness and mercy, and try our best to be as lighthearted as him, even when this cruel world doesn't always make it so easy for such an attitude to come as naturally as it did for him. Just like Goku, he's a natural, but that didn't stop all those around him from working hard to catch up to him, and it shouldn't stop us either from trying our best to follow his example and contribute just as much love to humanity. Rest in peace, Akira Toriyama

Without Akira Toriyama we probably wouldn't even be commenting on the video and since they have always given everything Dragon Ball here, most Facebook groups stopped with his death.
They even broadcast the news on TV (which 30 years ago said that Dragon Ball was satanic)

Thank you Toriyama-sensei. And thank you Jordan.
Dragon Ball was already my favorite series of all time and I understand and loved the writing even on a surface level, I definitely knew of Journey to the West and the series Eastern roots but you absolutely cleared up some stuff for me, highlighted the inspiration and connections of characters, arcs, themes etc. so now I have have an infinitely even bigger understand of my already favorite series of all time after watching dubbed/subbed multiple times and reading the manga when I could. Toriyama was an absolute GENIUS and is underrated as one of the best and influential writers OF ALL TIME!!!!

Beautiful tribute ❤ Pure as Jade indeed 🙏🙏🙏. I made a recent video (about the spiritual/energetic significance of the color orange) where I mentioned a bit about some of the influence DB had on me becoming a martial artist, Dr. of traditional Chinese medicine, and Daoist Priest. I did that video in early March, but before I knew Toriyama had passed, but I just resonate with so much of what you shared here, and appreciate all your work into sharing ideas about the historical and philosophical contexts DB grew out of. I hope to share more in the same vein in the future, and try to help inspire Shonen fans to become their own main characters and get into training and self-cultivstion, and offer resources for them to do that on my channel. I greatly look forward to reading Dragon Ball Infinity someday when I have more time in my life to sit down with a book again. Keep it up, brother! Jia You! 加油!🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️

With that Gohan Vs Cell fight, it is true that Toriyama portrayed Gohan as someone who didn't want to kill anyone.
However when you are faced with an enemy that will go after your friends and loved ones, that is when you need to put aside that and defeat them before they hurt your friends and family.
That is perhaps the hardest lesson that Toriyama put in the Dragon Ball series.
As much as we want to see the good in everyone, there are times some people are beyond saving.
But still, we must all still see the good in people so we know what ones we need to defeat and what ones we need to save from their own destruction.

Toriyama was already one of my heroes as well, and meant the world to me, but this video really opened my eyes to just how amazing he was not only as a creative mind, but, as you said, a person as well. Thank you so much for making this video, and rest in peace, Akira Toriyama.

One could suspect you just make this video for the sake to ride the waves of the algorithm.

Jordan’s obviously going to share his thoughts and condolences when one of the most important figures in his life passes away. Most of us appreciate this video. Your comment says much more about you than it does Jordan

I choose not to remember Akira for the trash known as Dragon Ball Super. Thats a zombie show. I will remember him for Dragon Ball to Z and Tobal and all the other cool stuff. Super is a professional fan fic with the creator nudging it.

I know you might be quite illiterate but even if you hate DBS this video wasn't about that. Fans like yourself are so diabolical it's no reason why I think Z fans are the worst out of the main excluding GT.
