I just finished all secure book by him. Sad that in the end, he didnt finish as the unit. They decided to not give him the badge Maybe i was wrong, maybe i cant read
I heard an interesting thing about that from another podcast eith ex unit guy. He said in that unit, if you ask people "what do you think of person x?" Half the people you ask will say "he's squared away and rock solid" And the other half the people you ask will say "he's a piece of shit" They have a huge problem with eating their own. Competition for everything and super capable determined personalities can lead to a lot of hating.
Did Tom mention Delta/Waco? Did he mention Afghanistan, Iraq, Venezuela, Syria, Libya, Columbia? Did he mention operating in CONUS? South America? We will all learn so much !
Matt Damon? It's like Mark Wahlberg was born to play this guy in a movie about his life. Same build, hair, and even their facial features are very close. I will say that his voice is a bit Damonesque.
Cordon and search was so freaking valuable. The training for kicking in doors in is a little contradicting. If a bad guys in there the odds are against you. But 9 times out of 10 the house is going to have no HVT's, instead you have to worry about shooting some kid. So basically the training tells you not to hesitate but it also says you need to hesitate lol. Having a inner and outer cordon with the option to call in an Apache with hellfires has saved a lot of lives and innocent families because at my level roughly 80 percent of the Intel was wrong. I'm sure at this dudes level things were a bit more narrowed down. Hopefully
That's the difference between a normal seal or specops sf guy and delta and devgru. Delta and devgru have to have high level of mental dexterity and capacity for clarity and calculation
@@SwissMarksman all seals are strong and have never quit attitude and highly trained. But devgru requires more control, situational awareness and clear thinking in intense situations
Delta operators seem far more intelligent than Seals and I say that with all due respect. The difference is noticeable. It's not just muscles and tattoos with Delta, but rather well grounded, highly intelligent professionals. I used to ask myself if Seal team 6 was better of Delta. I've since learnt the difference and why Seals are recruited to become Delta but not the other way around. Sure Seals are underwater pros and that has a purpose but muscle's can only get you so far. Delta is more involved than Seals. They're a part of the process, not just the execution of the process.
If all they had was a bag of money worth maybe 5 or 10 dollars, why the hell were we sending in all of our best assets for this? And such ridiculously calus and risky tactics, dropping right into a terrorist haven city.. the worst part is the reign of terror in Iraq and Afghanistan that the public was never supposed to know. Some people high up in special operations are evil. The real special ops warriors need to be warriors of truth and virtue, first nd foremost. The stuff they had SEALs doing with tomahawk missiles on remote nomadic villagers was never supposed to happen. Someone has taken over places of high authority for years hid their operations with "national security." The CIA has been a root of evil in our country. They need to be destroyed.
holy shit, you were able to go SF and CAG without a degree?? wtf they told me prior to an enlistment I'd need to have a college degree to be in SOF. Fkn recruiters are liars.
yes they are you can get around that by calling there command if they are bull shiting they wont get in trouble and the shit will stop.they are pushing the quotas but before you see CAG sounds like you will be in for about 4 to 8 years min with combat so boot camp, airborne school, ranger school, some hands on maybe SF and than CAG if you make it through all that with out injury etc etc etc

I really feel and wished DELTA had been given the opportunity to take UBL .. if a different administration had been in place I believe DELTA would of went in
Never will forget Maj Greer's RIP interview on 60 mins ... his hope how they would of killed UBL .. disappeared and melted away into the mountains of Afghanistan, the Afghani army would of taken the credit, and it would of been as if DELTA was never there . ..that's heroism
inspirational, I want to know more!
gene finney He has a great new book out called All Secure. I would definitely check that out.
They are protectors and warriors. They listen to life and respond accordingly. At that level you must be a warrior a warrior is uncommon amongs uncommon. There purpose is bigger than them and will get it done.
Thanks for the comment! Tom is a great leader and making a huge impact today!
Really great podcast guys. Tom you have lived a hell of a life, thank you for your service.

Excellent interview and massive respect to Tom, one question, Kyle Lamb who has declared his involvement in Somalia and was presumably a mate looks old enough to be Tom’s grandfather.
No offence Kyle.
Respect for Mr Satterly

Tremendous
It’s the real Jason Bourne
Yo you should talk to Isle of Man TT motorcycle racers. Talk about courage and stress management.
Lebowski reference. Yes!
I just finished all secure book by him. Sad that in the end, he didnt finish as the unit. They decided to not give him the badge
Maybe i was wrong, maybe i cant read
I heard an interesting thing about that from another podcast eith ex unit guy.
He said in that unit, if you ask people "what do you think of person x?"
Half the people you ask will say "he's squared away and rock solid"
And the other half the people you ask will say "he's a piece of shit"
They have a huge problem with eating their own. Competition for everything and super capable determined personalities can lead to a lot of hating.
there were handing out OBL watches there in 93...my mom gave me one she bought in the market
Great Chat!!#9CLRD
Did Tom mention Delta/Waco? Did he mention Afghanistan, Iraq, Venezuela, Syria, Libya, Columbia? Did he mention operating in CONUS? South America? We will all learn so much !
Matt Damon? It's like Mark Wahlberg was born to play this guy in a movie about his life. Same build, hair, and even their facial features are very close. I will say that his voice is a bit Damonesque.
He made me start reevaluating myself when he started talking about weak links…
Self evaluation can be great throughout our journey!
39:03 very important point here people
He looks like Matt Damon with a beard 😁 Real life Bourne
i was most likely there that day
Thank you for your service!!!!
He oddly reminds me of Matt Damon
He looks a lot like Mark Whalberg
Sounds like him too
Absolutely outstanding but guys could you speak into the microphone a little more. us old guys have a hard time hearing Some of what you say
Haha! Thanks for the advice. Since this recording we have gotten better microphones and sound filters. Thank you for listening!
Close your eyes and you'll hear George Clooney.
Kind of.I hear Dan Crenshaw more than George Clooney.
Have you ever actually heard George Clooney speak?
did he say 40 miles a day for 5=6 days? did I hear that correctly ?!
My life is definitely a roller coaster, buuuut it's the roller coaster in the kiddy park 🤣
Lol
Better than a carnival ride!
S T U D👏👏👏👏
His story sounds just like a CoD campaign mission.

A Navy Seal isn't automaticaly a Tier 1 Operator, unless he's Devgru as you said. Also, do you need a Ghost Writer if become a Seal?
@@SwissMarksman yah I meant like the difference between devgru and normal seal
@@SwissMarksman all seals are strong and have never quit attitude and highly trained. But devgru requires more control, situational awareness and clear thinking in intense situations
@@SwissMarksman and delta I think is probably even more strict on that mental control aspect
@@SwissMarksman i bet a lot of devgru guys maybe couldn't make it in delta idk
This guy kinda sounds and looks like Josh Brolin.
Mark Wahlbergs older brother looks darn young for his age.
I was thinking Matt Damon
I remember when Gen McCrystal had the boardwalk shut down in Kandahar. 😂😂😂
Howdy 😎
Thanks for watching!
?? Highly inaccurate broad generalization. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
Those seem like the type of people that would gut people like Edward Snowden
Yea , WOK us through
" What Ever Medium you can.
" Force Recon Marines "
rather llisten to this then corona shit everyday, or about a some annoying celeb who kissed another person news, i'd listen to this for hours
holy shit, you were able to go SF and CAG without a degree?? wtf they told me prior to an enlistment I'd need to have a college degree to be in SOF. Fkn recruiters are liars.
No that is true nowadays, but he went in back In the late 80's so was alot diff back then.
yes they are you can get around that by calling there command if they are bull shiting they wont get in trouble and the shit will stop.they are pushing the quotas but before you see CAG sounds like you will be in for about 4 to 8 years min with combat so boot camp, airborne school, ranger school, some hands on maybe SF and than CAG if you make it through all that with out injury etc etc etc
@@maddog7795 You don't need to have a degree to be in SOF. One of my buddies just made it in and he didn't go to college and get a degree
Matt Damon much?
Haha! Lots of people thought the same thing! Good stuff!
@@BrettGilliland1Their voices are almost identical and crazy enough their mannerism's are close as well. No brainer who's playing Tom Satterley in the future ;-)
@@Fragzone7450 hopefully not...as Matt Damon is a liberal flower child
