Peggy goes from asking him "tell me about your family" to "did anyone move with you" to hesitantly asking him "do you have any siblings".....girl, just ask the question you truly want to ask. 😂
Maurice is 100% a parody of JJ Jameson from Spiderman. Even Forrest said something like he is the friendly neighborhood radio host or something in the game xD
Wow! Suddenly it gets a few new layers. Protagonist back story, possible love story, thriller, detective, comedy - surrounded with this great voice acting I mentioned before. Ads were golden. And it seems the building is even bigger and there is many possibles places to hide and there is some messy janitor with a broken heart...
This has to be one of the best indie games of 2023. It's SO well put together and the voice acting is exceptional. Not really a horror game but Chris has played all sorts of game genres down through the years.
Ponty's Pizza a reference to "Pontypool"? A movie (and book) about a DJ trapped in the studio during an emergency? (It's linguistic zombies. Great film.) Hm?
I love how Chris misinterpreted the number of points the team won against. And just assumed it's 28 beers instead of just the 8 difference. Ponty's would go out of business! Lol
This has got to be my pick for game of the year so far. The graphical style, the music, the absolutely unmatched voice acting... There are a lot of 911 simulators out there, but none have ever been this enjoyable. I kind of want to play through each of the choices just to hear all the lines. Not a lot of games have that effect on me. But more importantly, I'd absolutely love for someone to adapt this game into a live-action miniseries. The 80s vibe really makes it feel like the cheesy horror shows I used to watch back in the day, and this game is easily far better than most modern comedy-horror series. I'd also settle for a radio drama, but it would be fun to actually see the people on the other side of the line as they struggle to survive with only our washed-up radio host to guide them over six "real-time" episodes.
With ads like the ones from Gallows Creek I might actually sign up for karate. 😆 Eugene definitely sounds stereotypically like a guy who’d be named Eugene lol but I like it! I obviously don’t know the VAs but they seemed like they genuinely had fun with their roles and everyone involved w/ development did a fantastic job. ❤️
Ahh, absolutely loving this playthrough. The frat boys bursting in just in the nick of time was hilarious and the highlight for me. I was on the edge of my seat while you were guiding Eugene out of the maze - that part was so tense! So much good to say about this game, looking forward to the next part.
Great job saving Eugene from terminal chastity, Chris.😆 You're firmly on the "good ending" trail! 👍 Who wants to go on a road trip to Gallows Creek? I wanna get lost in the Maize Maze, grab a Ponty's pizza, and watch the Cracker Crammin' and Gourd Measure-Off at the Harvest Festival!
In missing person case of Brandon Lawson the woman at the front counter of a local rest home was also the 911 operator. Small towns with limited budgets do tend to spread out the responsibilities. So this scenario isn't too far from reality. A frantic Lawson called reporting that he ran out of gas on a lone Texas highway and was being chased through a field. The last thing the operator hears is a loud pop that may have been a gun. The call is one of the most listened to 911 recordings, Lawson's Texas drawl makes it difficult to tell what he's saying. The calls in the game sound very realistic. Can't wait for pt. III.
Love seeing you play this game Chris! I am so glad you've been able to save everyone thus far! Also I love the little face cam moments at the end of the videos.
lmao GOD my heart was in my mouth for that maize maze section. I was triple thinking on it almost as much as you, I think, trying to keep track of it all. But still, this game is just as wonderful as ever, and it's so creative the different ways it asks you to look around the station, and how to approach each call! Really makes me look forward to the rest of it.
Another Rj Chris day, WOW! Nice gaming mate. Say, aren't you gonna play Outlast The trial? Please man waiting for your gameplay for it. If you think its worth of playing and making a series on it, please do. Enjoying this game by the way. Thank you.
Although the game has a cliche theme, it is a great game because they combine it with excellent voice acting and a very good editing. When you add the excellent gameplay of CJU to this, it becomes an insatiable series. But the maze part in the game seemed very strange to me. Because if this game is set in the '80s, how could Eugene talk on the phone while running through the maze? There were no cell phones back then. Still, I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Good point. I was thinking it was really odd that Sandra the jazz jogger could call, too, but I know car phones used to be a thing (not sure whether in the '80s or '90s) whereas how the heck is Eugene calling in from a cornfield?
@@MM-jf1me think there were mobile phones back then but it was a new tech at the time & very expensive... they were big and clunky then , not sure how they worked though...
My thought exactly! Admittedly it did break the immersion a bit for a game that has otherwise been utter perfection! (I was sat here watching, suddenly thinking about the fact that the makers of the game may not have lived through the '80's and thus would not even have considered the lack of cell phones then.)
The first handheld mobile phone was demonstrated by Martin Cooper of Motorola in New York City on 3 April 1973, In 1983 the DynaTAC 8000x was the first commercially available handheld mobile phone
I'm loving this, but I thought the setting was the '80's...which makes me question how the last guy was able to phone in from the middle of a corn maze? The earliest (clunky) models of cell phones came out in the '90's, right?

Ponty Pizza... reference to a movie "Ponty Pool" a movie similar to this game which takes place in a radio station but in more of a zombie survival style... check it out if you can...
So the killer wasn't at the door when you picked up a note something had fell behind the fan on the desk making it seemed like someone was trying to get into the station
Him at the start kinda sounded a bit like Billy connelly 😂. 🏴 he is scottish tho but sure that's down Edinburgh. Really enjoying the play through chris. Keep up the good work as always. ❤
Hmmm... "Ponty's..." I wonder.... Could that be a reference to Pontypool? Because if so, the inspiration for this game is clear. If you haven't seen that film, it's definitely worth a watch, although the end gets weird and is a bit anticlimactic. It's about a local radio DJ who goes live during an apocalyptic scenario.
It's funny to see Chris taking life-or-death decisions so quick and logical, but when it comes to garlic bread vs pizza he needs to take his time
Both incredible choices.
Well it was time sensitive with the killer stalking a victim.
Garlic bread - Instantly ready for delivery.
Pizza - Takes time to cook, not instant.
Peggy goes from asking him "tell me about your family" to "did anyone move with you" to hesitantly asking him "do you have any siblings".....girl, just ask the question you truly want to ask. 😂
lol i was thinking the same like maam just ask if he's single.
It's definitely a smart way to ease into asking out a coworker without being creepy! 😂
Maurice is 100% a parody of JJ Jameson from Spiderman. Even Forrest said something like he is the friendly neighborhood radio host or something in the game xD
I love this game so much, all the characters and dialogue have so much charm it’s so fun

"Say no more--PLUNKER IS MOVING THE HOUSE!" It's not charge of the light brigade, but damn was that satisfying to hear regardless. :D
52:02 It's a point for every point they win BY not total. So 8 free from Ponty's!
This has to be one of the best indie games of 2023. It's SO well put together and the voice acting is exceptional. Not really a horror game but Chris has played all sorts of game genres down through the years.
Voice acting is good but it's unbelievable for the situations in the game. They go from scared to funny/dirpy too quicly.
Ponty's Pizza a reference to "Pontypool"? A movie (and book) about a DJ trapped in the studio during an emergency? (It's linguistic zombies. Great film.) Hm?
I am reminded of that film when watching this LP, thought the 2/3rd of the film was great, but felt that final 3rd was a mess.
I love how Chris misinterpreted the number of points the team won against. And just assumed it's 28 beers instead of just the 8 difference. Ponty's would go out of business! Lol
Although, thinking back to Nathan For You's business strategies, they never said how big the beers would be. They could have been 28 1oz beers!

I'm waiting for the moment when the killers silhouette shows in the window across from Nash
Actually it's one beer for every "winning" point, and the final score was 28 to 20, so that should only be 8 beers. But 8 beers still beats a 6-pack.

"Ponty's Pizza"? Now I KNOW this was inspired by Pontypool. Loving the execution.
"The ELEMENT OF SUPRISE!" killed me. This is a good one ladies and gentlemen.
This game got the best voice actors i heard in a long long time ! It's so entertaining ! Love it !
Ahh, absolutely loving this playthrough. The frat boys bursting in just in the nick of time was hilarious and the highlight for me. As soon as I saw this was up I jumped on it right away! Loving this game so far!!!
I wonder if anyone has done a "let them all die" run
I find myself wondering if Ponty is a reference to Pontypool, a film about a zombie outbreak around a radio studio.
Ok how did he get a phone in the middle of the maze. Cell phones where really expensive back then. Because this is set in the 80’s

I've seen this very 911 call....scary and haunting....
I want to say thank you for how much you explored, I know it's probably not everyone's bag but I loved seeing new things I've never seen before! ❤
This is so fun, I'm really invested in this ^^ I ship Forrest and Peggy (if she doesn't die at the end).
Garlic bread or pizza is a hard choice. Especially when you grow up getting both. I don’t know if I could’ve made that decision lol
As someone who enjoyed the king falls am podcast, this hits the same nice and enjoyable place the podcast did. Love it and chris' commentary.
Happy to see you play this game again! Am loving it.
Plot twist would be if The Whistling Man was somehow Peggy's dad 😂
No spoilers but maybe yes maybe no.
@@cyrilalain8032 😱
That was really fun! Thank you for playing, CJU!
For some reason I am in the mood to get some PIZZA
oh yeah Ponty the guy you will never get rid off 🤣
Love seeing you play this game Chris! I am so glad you've been able to save everyone thus far!
Also I love the little face cam moments at the end of the videos.
I just looked up the voice actors. They've done a lot of popular work. Very cool. Peggy's voice is adorable.
The graphics and voice talent remind me of In Sound Mind.
When dude said " I don't want to die a Virgin" i felt bad❤😂
17 min into the video and all I can think is that the killer is listening too.
Wait this game is set in 1987, how is Eugene calling from the corn maze?
I played through this game with my daughter and I making the choices. She loved the whole Ponty's Pizza bit through the whole game.
Oh this is just thrilling. Can't wait for another part.
Is Ponty perchance Scrooge McDuck in disguise? That scottish accent is something else!

Impressive you saved everyone so far kudos
Such an excellent game! 😊
Funny thing about the Martial Arts commercial is that it sounds real/genuine, sadly. 😊😂
Thanks again!! Love the series!!
Oh yeah baby off work early and part 2 is here perfect.
This is such an interesting game!! Lots of moving parts with a great story and awesome voice actors. Really enjoying it so far!
So far these episodes have been so entertaining! This is such a really well made game. I love it!😁👍
I'm so glad you're playing this! I'm loving the playthrough and commentary
Would love it if this game were made into a movie.

All fun and games until the killer gets his hands on a radio and tunes in as well haha
Just finished it yesterday, got the best ending. Really impressive game; doesn't hold your hand, puzzles/clues aren't ridiculously difficult at all.
loving the gameeeee all have personality cant wait for the third part cju i love youuuu!!
Fantastic! Was waiting on this :)))
Talk about getting sucked into the game! I actually found myself crossing my fingers at one point. Brilliant!
These advertisements are amazing.
Also, I think they just insinuated that Molly is the bagger at the grocery store.
This is the perfect playthrough to listen to while working
Great game! Gonna give this a second watch later on!

I love this game and cju so much that I watched Gab’s playthrough yesterday and still very excited about Chris’ version🤩

I'm loving this... Eagerly awaiting then next part!!!
Lets finish killer frequency game chris😊😊😊
Great series, can't wait for more! If, by chance, you read this, there is an album in the kitchen on the shelf above the TV.
This game is too cute! I love it! And I love watching you make shrewd decisions Chris!
Ok this is an instant favorite for me, great mechanics and love the cast of chaacters. CJ keep up the great work can't wait for the next part😺
Can’t wait for the next part! You’re so calm tho, if I were you playing this game I’d probably sweating a lot🤣🤣
OMG this is so well written. And thanks for the let's play!
To be honest, that wasn't the worst advertisement I've heard for my business. Come on down to the DoJo!
Thoroughly enjoying this playthrough 👍🏻 Picked a gud un

Very funny but tense game. Great stuff.
this is a great game! and i love the commentary
