Thank you so much to everyone who's watched! Let us know in the replies to this if there are any other games you'd recommend we both play. Extra bonus if they're quite short!
Later Alligator is fun and relatively short.
@@HenryWayat thank you! I’ll take a look at it
just found the channel genuinly shocked its only got 1.51k subs, id love to see you play "dr langeskov the tiger and the terribly cursed emerald a whirlwind heist" its a really funny and short game
@@NBC_noob Thank you so much - that's really kind of you to say. I've started putting more effort into TH-cam over the past few months and it's awesome to see people finding the channel :D Our next one together will be The Plucky Squire and I'm 100% going to play Dr Langeskov! I'd never heard of it but the reviews make it sound amazing :D Thanks for the rec!
This isn't much of a comedy game but there's a series of 4 games known as TLA or that level again. On a website, said to be one of the hardest mobile games
The latin under the Barnsworth emblem says crassus in capite which literally translates to thick in head
There's a first half to it that you can see on the lintel of the town hall door as soon as you step outside, and while I can't read it on the video, I'd bet you ten bob that it translates to "strong of arm".
@@InchonDM It says fortis in brachio, crassus in capite. Which means strong in arm, thick in head.
It's referencing an insulting geographical rhyme, I've heard it as:
'Wiltshire born, Wiltshire bred, strong in the arm and thick in the head'
Anyone else ever heard or used this?
Like a willie, innit
As an american, this playthrough is like a directors commentary for jokes that went over my head. Cheers
My first time seeing the game was RTGame's playthrough, and he understood some things but not others, being _irish_ and not _bri'ish..._
Visits cute, colorful town filled with friendly people…
…Immediately starts punching everything
@@tino768 the Yorkshire way!
Or Ezra Miller...
"Oh, my big baps!"
You managed to miss one of my favourite dialogues, if you go into Price Shaggers right after the giant pie is baked, Keri tells Florence that “mum called, she says you’re a bitch”
They also missed Nick’s Bricks which is one of my favorites.
What's funny about Nick's Brick's?
Out of all the playthroughs I've seen, every single one has missed the joke where the locksmith says he wakes up, drinks a pint, takes a wee, THEN gets out of bed lmao
This game is the most love barnsley has ever gotten, very surreal
@@mannameddeclan2577 so deserved 😅
That is Matt Berry as Herbert the gardener! It's his first and only video game role to date.
@@HellfireComms oh wow it IS him! 😂 amazing
I’m pretty sure he voices the locksmith and Big Ron too
I thought it was him!!! I wasn't totally sure though because I'm American and I could have just been confusing a guy with the same accent as him 😅
@@raindeer9787 I might be wrong though, but the cast is small enough that it's not too far off to imagine that he voices multiple characters.
I thought that was him!
I love the main characters vibe. Laying there he seems to have a very "This is fine" attitude.
Nice waffle pfp
@@lrobin-is8dg Thankies. Nice Klonoa
all fun and games for him until he reaches the end of the game
The more I see content of this game, the more I see hints of the lives of Florence and Colin. Their names are everywhere together, they seemingly work at every establishment.
Everyone in this story has interesting complicated lives.
And most important, they're cousins
@@GabyIsHere2I’m sorry, WHAT?
@@thecopperandroid8989
There's a "secret" dialog between Collins and the fat angry women if you enter the bakery, there's Collins thinking about scaping from the city with Florence and the women stops him saying something on the lines of "I don't pay you to daydream about your cousin"
So yeah, they're cousins
"you have to bash on every beat" , cue random button mashing.
That section actually takes longer if you aren't on the beat, it adds in extra sections to give you time to get the hang of it.
ohhh that makes so much sense! Guess I'll save that for my second playthrough to get the platinum XD
@@BiggusBennus also the way each character's faces moves hints the next control direction too.
@@Nekyomi I totally missed all of this 😂. It’s been a while since I was in a band (brass of course) so my rhythm is all over the place these days.
I just realised how genius the autosave icon is - it's the cue dot from the olden days of television
...So that's what that stripey bit in the top right of Plainly Difficult's videos is, I always wondered.
its wonderful to see the faces of folk who ain't from our neck of the realm trying to understand our lingo.
@@Brunders08 absolutely. They say us Yorkshire folk spell culture with a K but I think this game proves otherwise.
As someone who is from Barnsley I too go around hitting everything for no apparent reason
This game is HILARIOUS. Plus, the amount of slang included is so fun to see people (usually) be confused by, haha!
Haha Ed had no idea. At least he knows what a guinnel is now.
I think the son of Pasty petes premium mixture ”pie mixture think food extender”is dating the daughter “Florence” of the tiny toms tiny pies.
I think it's that mop guy who delivers pie filling Colin.
Number2 theres 2 refernces to sex happening. The mechanic and fish and chip lady marge.
It goes “ooh” said Marge.
“All right Marge, that’s your pipes all cleaned up. And i fixed your fryer.” Said the mechanic.
think After the third time you go down the chimney you end up in someones backyard. The gardener is trying to open a fertiliser bag then you get of a clothesline then you fall down. Then 2 old people do the sex.
collin and florence definitely have feelings but Kerry seems to constantly make fun of the two and act like her and Colin are actually together@peshomighty5051
as a kerryman, I hate kerry shes so rude to Florence
@@Prazca I mean sisters be sisters.
Also Florence is the daughter of Rog(big head vege guy)
Also also it might be to simplistic to see but I believe Florence being attracted to Colin is because he looks like a younger Rog. It's like that wear your girlfriend's dad's cologne thing.
I love how during the final saw and the entire town aggressively stomps forward in unison, it reminds me of something from the 1960s wicker man
This game is such a riot and so fun to play the intro music and the music at the end gave me big Monty Python vibes
I would pay so much money for an entire series based on this town to be made dude
You are correct, lager isn’t a vegetable
Its a fruit
@@yesssint7243 gotta get your 5 a day!
I have watched like 5 full playthroughs of this game, it will never be unfunny!
My uncle is from Barnsley, so I had to show him the trailer for it. I'm not from the UK myself, I'm from the US state of Minnesota.
@@reverbthevocal421 what did he think? Hopefully he got a lot of references 😂. There were a lot of international folk in my chat who still hopefully found it funny, if a little bizarre!
@@BiggusBennus I think he liked what he saw.
@@BiggusBennus I'm from the U.S. and I find this game hilarious. I bought it and played it through after the first playthrough I watched, and yours is maybe the fifth or sixth playthrough of it I've watched.
@@IstasPumaNevada I hope a trip to Barnsley is on the cards! 😅
There is an achievement called Bobby Knockers if you slap every close door in the game, Cheek to Cheek if you harass the service worker and Patience is Virtue if you waited in reception, Everything must go if you knocked down the brick wall and Spill the Bean by knocking over the beans near the end of the game
Betting that netting every achievement in the game earns you 'BFFs with Sisyphus'.
Betting that netting every achievement in the game earns you 'BFFs with Sisyphus'.
@@Anonymous-bk9xy it's actually Barnsworth Best
Waiting for 15 minutes in the reception area unlocks a trophy.
@@SaltyMaltyMo you can get Everything must go by knocking down the brick wall and near the end of the game, you can knock over the can of beans to get Spill The Beans
2:32:45 I just noticed the Freezer is set to 37 degrees centigrade lmao
Celcius
@@n0body550 Exact same thing.
Can’t believe you missed Nick’s Bricks😔
@@ILoveAnimation2 I’m definitely going to do a platinum cleanup run in a few months and will keep my eye out!
@@BiggusBennusYeah nobody will give a shit by then, better sooner than later to get all the views you can
Realized the boss from the beginning of the game has his hair taped on. In the enployee pictures above the window you can see his hair going and then a piece of package tape on the last picture
Wow, it's really interesting seeing someone who's actually "from Tarn" play this. I'm trying my best to understand just like the southerner is lol
@@WhirlyBeepBoops haha sadly I left when I was a few hours old but often went back for football games and if I got on the wrong train 😂
It’s such a delight hearing the different accents and terms, particularly with Canadian family and relatives in Northern England.
Lovely playthrough with two lovely guys 😊
This is now my second viewing of this game and it really does have so much in it i could watch another!
Shame you missed the chat in the butter shop where the shop keep talks about her husband's mental state being more fragile these days and now he talks about little men coming down the chimney... 😅
Thank you so much. I'll definitely look out for it on my second playthrough when I go for the platinum!
Scrambled is an actual meal and is scrambled eggs and bread in a bowl or ontop of toast
@@mrmcmoustache9615 I didn’t know this! Thanks for the info!
Is it like eggy bread? I’m from Nottinghamshire
"I didnt go to eaton, im not a tory" had me rolling 😅😅
The chimney scenes were my favorite, completely hilarious justice for Roy 😂😂 best funny game this year
I feel like this'll be THE playthrough of Thank Goodness You're Here lol
Haha I hope it doesn’t disappoint! 😂 thank you very much
To me, this gave off the amazing world of gumball vibes, maybe because the show creater was from the Uk
smashing through the bus roof into the live-action intro gives me goosebumps every time i see it, that transition is such a work of art all on its own 😩💯
19:54 the southerner's voice actor almost loses it mid-line lmaoooooooooo
This is by far the most British thing I’ve ever seen, and it’s magnificent!
Tip: you can watch the receptionist lick cards for about 30 minutes to get to the mayor
Having played through this game and I'm an Australian formerly living in Midlands - your playthrough is the only one I enjoy. Thank you
Justice for the chimney guy
This game was my first Platinum and I couldn’t be happier
I just now understood the hose joke. Oh dear.
I was hoping to find a playthrough of this game by someone who's actually from Barnsley, which is what Barnsworth is based on. Man, though, I can't get enough of those accents!
I don't think I've ever felt more represented by a video game before
50:32 oh hey, Kilroy.
@@skullman-us7wn I’m glad someone recognises it!
@@BiggusBennusI recognised it to from that one Styx song
he was in the beginning too!
I'm about 15 mins from Doncaster, I love this game so much lmao
Procession to Calvary is similarly absurd and fun and is only about 2-3 hours.
5:42 "Why are you so small?" "You don't normally say that."
I take it that joke's not the only thing that's low-hanging
Congrats man, this is you're 3rd most populer long hour videos, and it's only been 8 days! Happy to be here lads👍
@@tokokota9473 oh that’s awesome! Thank you 😍
english is my second language, im from brazil so this entire thing is absolutely alien to me, but ive been watching so many europeans with so many different accents play this game and its genuinely eye opening, it feels like im back in my first day of english class having no fucking clue wtf is going on lmfao
this is a rly cute video, thank u for sharing!!!!
@@vivishii_ haha thank you so much for watching and I hope it was fun! My accent is technically from where the game is set, although it’s a bit less strong these days. Some people I grew up with are difficult to understand even for me 😂. Tenha um ótimo dia!
2:51 That made me curious, and the bubble blower replacing a glass blower from Barnsley's logo is on a perfect level of obscure jokes :')
This is my first video from you and I love it. 😂 This game looks so cute!
Thank you so much! The game was amazing
Never found a fellow English youtuber like this ❤
These guys were great! Reggies wife could learn a thing or two!
@@olsnippers6627 text you can hear 😂
This was really good. Thanks for making the video :)
@@Scriv_09 thank you so much for watching!
Is a ginnel the yorkshire name for a snickett?
Edit: had a quick google and Yorkshire uses both terms! I didn’t know Ginnel
I'm always surprised that we have high schools in the uk because I've always referred to it as secondary school. At least I assume that's what it's the equivilent of
@@OxalicCrystals yeah, I wonder if it’s a northern thing. All the different school names just confused me. Especially how now we have academies
I'm gonna need an explainer video on the topic of milk shyness.
It took me so many times to get through this video because I kept putting it on at night and then immediately falling asleep 💀
Colin's like a British Morty
Apparently if you sat in the lobby near the mayor, you would've avoided playing the entire game and went to the mayor
Can’t wait for the English (US) localization
Has Ed ever been told he looks like Ross from The Traitors? (if so, I am sorry for mentioning it again)
@@SeanS102 haha he has but takes it as a compliment!
I love the fact matt berry is in this game. Such a great actor.
@@thatguyxander6574 he needs to be in more games now! Give him a role in the new Elder Scrolls 😅
@@BiggusBennus completely agree!!!! He would fit right into a elder scrolls character
Very cute play-through! Love the thumbnail lmao , made me click
Oh. 2:08:47. So _THAT'S_ what being "milk-shy" was supposed to mean!
I watched a live playthrough of this with the streamer Owdo Cookie. Looking at the still photograph of the terraced street he said "This is LITERALLY where I live."
Nobody here seems to have noticed that right at the beginning Megg calls Colin a "workshy fop" - a joke from the very Northern comedy series "Vic Reeves Big Night Out".
Edit: there's a reference at one point to Denby Dale. This is a village known for its big pies. I mean, really ENORMOUS pies. Even bigger than Big Ron's pies...
yooorkshire! yooorkshire! yooorkshire,
Couldn't have said it better myself!
I liked this game enough that I wanted to watch a whole 'nother channel play it 😂
how come some streams the box that says bits of hair says wifes ashes?
Noooo, you missed the worm dialogue
Took me a sec to realise it was del boys coat in the thumbnail
Matt Berry does voice the gardener using his actual voice! He does actually sound like that in real life just slightly exaggerated
Been waiting to find a British streamer so i can get some the jokes
I know everyone laughs at the gout line, but me dad has it.
Still, i also laughed because he'd also put on that voice and say that lone when he wanted me to do a chore for him
american here!
what is happening
The Most British Game To Exist.
Kilroy was here....
2:03:20 ah, what a terrible crash... also the plate. and the game
Aww, you missed Nick's Bricks. It's so ridiculous, haha.
@@lianoid918 same! Will definitely try to see it on my second playthrough
I felt unreasomably sad they missed Nick's Bricks in the first cycle.
31:52, Sausage.
45:05, Who's bum?
1:11:59, Sausage?
1:16:39, Inside the meat.
1:29:07, His bum!
1:32:12, ...Too much Internet for me. Good night everyone.
55:16 I know those are coal towers in the background, but to me that visual is the game creators giving one of their influences a nod. Aside from the banana-yellow protagonist we stare at for the whole game of course.
The art style as a whole is only kinda simpsons-like, but it does have the consistent line width and the flat, bright colours.
Anyone happen to know the song playin’ in the chimney man’s house?
not the kind of southerner I expected
1:56:30 Carl from Aqua Teen?
01:32:32 -ME EYES BURN. . .
isn't a yorkshireman just a northerner but more tory?
