its because this keyboard is the same as IPI Rain65. CK went the easy way and licensed this board. better off just getting the RAIN65pro for $57. BTW, the tape is for the flex cut pcb and feels much better if you don't remove it.
Yeah the side lighting can be changed via the built-in shortcut hotkeys - I just set it to a bright teal cuz the RGB effects did gimme a bit of a headache lol
Quick correction for the last sound test: I also removed the case foam to give the board a bit more bounce and to open up the sound a bit more to make it sound less foam dependent So the corrected config for the final sound test is NO Case Foam | NO PE Foam | NO Plastic Film but I still kept the Plate Foam
Yeah, a total miss. 65 version of the ND75 would be a hit, which is what I was waiting for. I feel like these companies are just picking these already designed and produced boards from their manufacturer's catalogue and aren't really designing anything themselves.
This has happened A LOT during the past 5 years in the OEM and entry-level sectors of the keyboard market. Most boards from random chinese brands are some variation of an ODM board with different branding. Even Corsair used an ODM for their first 60%; it was just another GK61 clone. It's happening with HE boards too as the Endgame gear and Lamzu boards use the same PCB afaik.
2 years to almost a year ago you would be right but it’s insane what’s coming out nowadays. These Chinese companies are copying because they know Americans can’t sue and others are manufacturing boards and giving em to the first bidder and printing keebs. Swear shops that make good products but sweat shops the same. I’ll spend more for reliable companies that pay employees a good wage and don’t have nonexistent customer service.
Northfacing..JST Cable.. hidden screws.. this board feels soo 2021, we have been getting quite a few boards with ball catch system and even a few with magnetic connectors for the cable, i think even the Lucky 65 v2 might be a better alternative than this

are you able to change the rgb around at all? Id prefer a static color rather than the vomit rgb lol

i really like that cable you're using. mind sharing where you got it? thanks!
Before Merkeebs, he was Cable Mod's affiliate(or was it community manager?) here in PH
pretty sure that cable comes with the board. i have an ND75 and it came with a fancy looking thick cable like that
The cable I'm using is from Ordinary Labs :)
@@Merkeebs thanks!
It's an OEM off the IPI Rain 65... ND could have done better than taking this as OEM

I feel like these critiques at this price aren’t reasonable tbh.

Does it qmk/via compatible?
Merkeebs said the answer more than once in the video. 🙄
You can buy a tess65 at this price 😅
if only shipping for the tess65 was not outrageous (costs almost as much as the base config)
