I have to say, I initially watched this movie because Denzel was in it and he didn't disappoint. However, Marton Csokas is the reason I've watched it an additional 10 times. I love a good villain!
Marton Csokas was genius good to the extent that made me shiver everytime he appeared on the screen. He gave the impression of being devil human by just eye look, gait walking, way of talking, facial expression without single act of true violence.
When this first came out it was my introduction to Marton Csokas who's screen presence was unforgettable in this movie. I love just about all of Denzel's movies and Marton Csokas played one of the best villains that year.

This movie is one exceptional insight in human behaviour. I love how the character of Robert McCall is being presented to me as vieuwer. Not much is explained, other then a line here, and excelent non-verbal acting of Denzel , to make up the rest of his background story in my mind. The way Antoine Fuqua has made the camera go into detail, as a sensetory experience pulls you in the scene as a fly on the wall. The first thing that I noticed was that the fighting is short, it lasts only seconds, as it should. All this is a hallmark of a great movie , with exceptionaly talented actors, and Denzel Washington of course. My hero..!!!

Denzel is the type of man who could make Hollywood great again. He's not egotistical, just a good moral man who doesn't play the race card and puts the blame where it belongs, on each of us, and on family life, and being an example to others about the problems we have with race, gangs, drugs, etc. he has good insight about life and people, and an honor to admire as an actor and as a man. He is someone you could admire and be honored to have as a friend. I hope he's around much longer to give us more great movies, for many years he never received credit for his amazing talents and kindness as a human being,
