Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video and idea. I made a smaller version before this larger upgrade that might be of interest to you? Here's the link. th-cam.com/video/oaGh3k0KJrU/w-d-xo.html
Found it!!the video of how you put together the assembly of the tank so beautiful you could say the best of both worlds. I'm only sorry I'm not able to have a go at something like this but unfortunately my pond is at ground level and is more old fashioned type a bit like me really😂 .
Have to compliment you on this upgrade, it looks fantastic, great tip ref water drop and frame immersion depth into pond, could have easily been overlooked, thanks for sharing 👌👌
@@KoiPondLifestyle yes that would be a great idea, covers up that upside down writing then 😂 just remember which way round to put the sticker on, haha!!
I hope the tank stayed together but as a hobbyist I HAD to come say that yes the t bars were absolutely for structural integrity. If it was just for the light and tip, it wouldn't have the t bars on the bottom. NEVER remove these cross bars/t bars if you plan on using it as intended and filling it completely. Bigger (55 gallon+) and curved tanks need that extra support or they can leak, crack or collapse entirely. I imagine the slight water submersion takes some of the gravity/weight compared to it sitting full on a stand inside. The anesthetic is INCREDIBLE with this idea! Gorgeous!
Hiya, thanks for the feedback. You certainly know your engineering. You might be interested in a video I made about different ways to fill the skypond with water.. 😉👍 th-cam.com/video/_KzgUN9oMwI/w-d-xo.html
Get some air line and cut it open and spread it over the internal edge of the metal so the fish ain’t scraping them self on it even though it ain’t sharp, it’s a hard surface, looks fantastic!!! Absolutely love it !!
Looks brilliant! I am planning to completely drain my in-ground pond later this month (need to get the allotment planted up before I tackle this), move my filter box & uv unit & install a new waterfall too - I've bought a large, deep & sturdy inflatable pool to house my fish temporarily. I am plagued with blanket weed (despite having treated it already) so it's going to be scrubbed clean & hopefully have a fresh start for this summer. I have noticed that since stopping the pond clay treatment last October that the blanket weed has increased 😳 so it seems the clay does have an inhibiting effect. Happy ponding 👍👍👍
Hiya, thanks for that. Good luck with your deep cleaning. I have been told that the clays do reduce the growth of blanket weed. Another reason why I'm keen to get my clay in early spring to catch any early growth? I've also found that if I catch blanket weed early with a smaller dose it seem to hold it off and not make as much of a mess in the filters. Here's a vid I made of smaller dose.. th-cam.com/video/-1JcPo7tT2g/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for that. There's just the issue of getting it off to deep clean it as the aquarium magnet cleaners don't get I to all the corners. Can't knock it till you've tried it...😉👍🤔
hey andy fellow stokie here i come across your video's the other day and really love them thay are so helpful n fun and give me so many ideas for my pond thank you n keep up the grate work

I liked the other one, until I saw how nice this one turned out.. Great job. We have in the ground ponds in the USA otherwise I would totally steel your idea
Hiya, you can get them to fit in the ground ponds by making a frame that is placed onto the floor of the pond. I suppose it depends how deep your pond is? You would love it if you could get one one to fit... So steal away. 😉👍
That looks pretty cool Andy. It was the right decision to stick with the stainless. It's a shame really you don't have the lid. You could have used that to house your lighting and would have protected the glass from above.
I would not put that amount of metal in my pond! Accident waiting to happen when they start spawning and thrashing about! Also when they get parasites it’s another object to flash against and damage themselves…. Your a brave man Andy!!! I saw a fish at the South East Show smash it’s head on a metal bar above the vat and it wasn’t a good outcome 🤷🏼♂️( every day is a school day )
Andy you have made a great job of the viewing tank looks great really does. If I may I’d like to suggest to you that you put a bit of hose (split along the length) around the angle at the bottom of the tank, noticed a couple of your koi banging against it, wouldn’t want them to get hurt or scraped mate👍
Absolutely superb Andy👍😊. Liked the old one but love the new one……and so does Clare so I know what’s coming next😂🤣👍. Surely some pond product manufacturer is going to see the potential and put something on the market, could be interesting 👍🐟🈲😊
we finished our above ground pond last year but watching you in early 2021 inspired us to build it, its not on your scale just a small corner . Enjoying the updates too! Hello from chilly South of France!
Hi, thanks for that. I used stainless steel and tig welding so neither would rust while on the water. I also tried to ensure there was a minimum of the frame in the water. 😉👍
Nice job and excellent addition to pond. Much better size and shape. Good video will inspire others to do similar. Better start planning for a bigger one now though the way your Koi are growing.

If im honest i wasnt sure anout the shape and depth of the new tank , but MATE it looks EPIC. Love it Andy 👍👍👍
