This is Alex's first time watching Dragon ball Z & Kyle has not seen the BUU saga! Bryan & Elvin has the seen show and will be joining the journey with Alex to get his reaction!
Dragon Ball Z is about a man named Goku that lives on earth and finds out he came from a different planet and doesn't know how powerful he is until villains from other planets come along.

Some context here that I feel like most folks never look at is Strength/Power wise Videl and Spopovich were rather evenly matched. She was clearly capable of hurting him and if it wasn't for his new *abilities* she'd likely win. He's just benefiting from his seemingly in ability to feel pain or die. Because of that she can't drop him. That's also why he outlasts her. I love Videl but this is one case where she was to stubborn imo she should've knock his ass out of the ring once she noticed he doesn't go down.
Man, this fight always makes me uncomfortable... :/

Videl’s pride could’ve gotten her killed. Just imagine the zenkai boost she would’ve gotten if she was a Saiyan.
Her pride was an excellent trait that her character possessed, too bad it faded away in super, they could have kept that and still remove the arrogance, which good riddance for that - despite the arrogance being completely justified due to her upbringing, and the fact that she actually is a capable fighter - as it was arguably very annoying.

@@donsq4306 I loved her arrogance, it actually felt realistic, unironically the great sayiaman arc was my favourite arc in the buu saga, because her chemistry with Gohan was well crafted, her development was excellent, the way she humbled and matures at a relatively fast rate is admirable.

Exactly Videl never gave up. Despite being brutally beaten to a pulp. She was still conscience the whole time, she could have said “i give up”

I couldn't deal with Goku and Krillin in this episode. Don't go out there? Pff, If that had been Chichi, Bulma or Krillins daughter, Spopovich would've been blasted to the next dimension
I mean he's right, Videl didn't wanna quit herself, if she said I quit, and he still went on then every z fighter would go at that point.
@@trollardo9720 No that's not right, it's stupid. They rather let their friends or family die rather than "dishonor" them by interfering in their fight. Yes it's Videl's fault for not quitting, but I would not let that go on. That's why I like Future Trunks. He's the only fighter that wouldn't stand for that foolishness and shut it down.

@@vegaswithdrawal4132 Future Trunks is one of my favorite characters, but him not standing for the pride thing isn't really true. He thought he could kill Cell (and definitely could have killed 18) but he waited for Vegeta to be out of sight because he was more worried about damaging his dad's pride.

Goku got some nerve telling Gohan to not try to help Videl if it was Chichi getting beat to a pulp like that you think Goku would just standby.
I don't think so if Gohan had gotten his hands on spopovich he would have destroyed that whole Arena or went back to his days as teen Gohan and went Savage.

Elvin does eventually make it for some episodes, but sometimes he can't always make it but where hoping he's always here for the big episodes

I never really liked this videl fight because this fight was the equivalent of Sakura when she got beat up in the forest of death, except it's worse and longer, no characters change from it, nothing happens from it, it has no affect on the next plot point. The main difference is if you take sakura out of the forest of death the plot changes dramatically, you take Videl out nothing changes, And the same can be said for Vegeta if you take him out of the "freeza beat down" the plot does change.
I agree kinda, they just wanted to make it this brutal for the sake of it. It helps paint the picture of how Majin power works & how brutal these new villains can be, but this is overdoing it
In a way, she kinda did this to herself. I’m not blaming her in any way, but these guys only showed up at the tournament in the first place because she blackmailed Gohan into participating. One thing led to another and here we are with a tournament full of galaxy-level nuke launchers.
Had she left him alone, she might’ve won that tournament. It feels more like a Lee vs Gaara fight in that sense. Had he fought anyone else, it would’ve been a wash, but Lee’s hard work was demolished by Gaara’s ninja cheat codes, and now he gets a backseat to all the real shit.
He is not a referee he is just the announcer for the fights even if there was a referee do you think spovoichi was gonna stop just cause a referee told him too?

I've always hated this episode as a kid when videl was fighting against spovovich this fight was so brutal when they aired this episode on toonami back then.
