As well Hercule got one of the best writing of the series alongside with Vegeta. The guy litteraly comes from being a coward freak regular fighter used as comic relief pretending to be the Earth Savior by lying and faking to a true Earth Savior. He virtually defeated Majin Buu twice by befriending Fat Buu (and we often forget about that part but he even gain Piccolo/Kami respect for that who watched the whole thing meanwhile Goten and Trunks trained in the Time Room) and makes Earthlings believes against Kid Buu. He was also the only non-Z team lone survivor of Super Buu , the savior of the good part of Buu who was released only because Kid Buu couldn't attack Hercule overwise... And last , in the ending of Z we can see that none of the Z-Fighter mocks him anymore and even accept to surrend against him whoever meet him in Final. In a way , even them recognize that Hercule is the World Champion the Earth deserves even if he's clearly weak as fuck compared to them.
