Such scares! Anyone would think it was winter! btw Sun forecast for Bristol shows top daytime temp 14degrees in the headline ( but nowhere in the detail shown) That sleeveless summer top indicates no risk of power outages for the Met Office, while we clutch mugs of coffee to keep warm, hoping the boiler holds up, our spades to hand.
Amber warning here in Warwickshire now I’m still unsure if we will get much snow judging by the position of the low/front and how it’s suddenly getting milder into Sunday
It won't snow in Edinburgh/Lothians, it will be sleet and rain. By the time the front moves north over England it will start to break up and be scattered sleet and rain showers by time it hits southern Scotland and the central belt. I guarantee you by Saturday tea time into Saturday night whatever forecast for Sunday has been telling you about Edinburgh being belted for 24 hours has changed to sleet and rain.
@ I’m 200 metres above sea level we can have deep snow and 1/2 mile down road notjing, I’m in Midlothian it’s 90% precipitation for Sunday 3am until 12pm Monday.. 1 degrees and 0.. we have snow laying just now from Wednesday . It shows on the map so as I said no mention up here only England as they have snow a few hours
Thank you, Honor. You wore the colour-matched outfits both yesterday and today. They look quite warm, too. I live in Snowdonia National Park near Mount Snowdon, so I may be snowed in tomorrow and Sunday. Thanks for the warning.
Just how many of these camera-friendly young staff members do they have at the Met Office? With the BBC, we got used to one or two very familiar figures; now, we seem to have dozens of so-called meteorologists on call!
Honor, why are the temperatures with negative numbers on east of England and entire Scotland and even Northern Ireland, while the rest are neutral zero degrees Celsius and even Baltasound has a negative four degrees? How it is so cold?
If there's one thing more depressing than the UK weather itself, its listening to the doom, gloom and Armageddon style forecasts from this lot. They'd have been a huge hit back in mediaeval times. They seem to take huge pleasure from issuing terryfying weather forecasts. We had a cold night in the middle of December on Merseyside, nothing else. You'd have thought it was the end of the world. What is the point of scaring people?
Another video where the forecast for Saturday evening is missing so it's difficult to tell whether people in the South West need to worry about snow on the road...
Now the met office don't want to tell us about snow because people complain all the time when it doesn't happen. I feel bad for those going out Saturday night with a horrible drive home, country roads won't be gritted, doesn't matter if it's gone in the morning.
Thank you for the report PS: TH-cam I don't have pets. The last dog I had died over a decade ago. So I don't need pet food or pet insurance or things to clean dog's teeth. Kindly stop giving me pet related adverts. I will block them
I am surprised that it does not show how much rainfall in the initial phase in the western part of England, but the animation immediately jumps to the central and northern parts of Great Britain. Amateur
Doesn't mean the whole of that area will be impacted as seriously, but there is a risk in that zone. Snow is incredibly difficult to forecast as less than a degree of temperature variation and considering the temperature at different altitudes can make the difference between rain and snow. Also, there is still no exact certainty of the precise track of this low, due to the variables with the jet stream, so the impact could be shifted as much as 20-50 miles north or south. They have to cover all bases as there is a genuine risk to life and/or property, power cuts possible etc. Better safe than sorry.
It’s highly responsible if you could be at risk of it. Not everyone is in every area. But it’s why I have to obey speed limits - whereas I’d be fine driving at 150mph but because there’s idiots that don’t know how to drive, we are all limited.
Thanks once again

Thank you, Honor
Thanks honor.
A fantastic angle update today as we finish Friday on a cheeky 6 degrees
Thanks Honor 🌧❄
Nice bright presentation contrasting the gloomy weather👍
The thing i am most looking forward to about the Snow is when it melts & we can return to milder temperatures .
Honor loves saying "once again" and "plenty"
Could be worse, - starting a sentence with the word 'so'.
Snow is hard to predict. Things change within minutes.

It's lovely up here in the northeast at the moment cold but lovely n sunny
Great show yet again - got 4/5 in the quiz!
Honor is a joy to watch. Always so cheerful and smiling
She's certainly more cheerful than the weather!
Well I fancy tuna for tea 😋 yummy tuna, stay safe 😋
Salmon better 😸
Thank you😁❤️
Thank you
It’s all rain 😂 a tiny bit of snow .. all about England .. Edinburgh is being belted for over 24 hours not a mention
It’s always the same 😑
The whole country can be flooded or snow and ice bound but if any of it affects the south it's a national emergency

🤭lmao
5c and raining on the south coast
Why do forecasts rarely go past 16:00?! We want to know what tomorrow evening and night has in store too
In the Southwest, WE GET TOO MUCH RAIN 😭😭😭😭
Just so we're clear - none of us asked for that sunshine 😊
Where do I download the wrap? 😉
Never get snow in Berkshire 😢wish we could
Here in West Sussex we hardly ever get snow.
Excellent presenter, very clear and engaging. Pity about the weather!
What was the “once again” count? Need to work on the script I think.
And " as I said"
would be nice to see some snow in eccles but i know that wont happen haha
Honor, I need snow!
She's so fit ❤
And what about the weather?!
Cold and frosty on the south coast of England.
Thank you, Honor. You wore the colour-matched outfits both yesterday and today. They look quite warm, too. I live in Snowdonia National Park near Mount Snowdon, so I may be snowed in tomorrow and Sunday. Thanks for the warning.
Scare mongering at its finest on my iPhone during night it was saying heavy snow in my location I looked outside and there was nothing
Must be warm in the studio, no sleeves! I've got 3 layers on and still cold. Maybe time to move into their premises!
😂😂😂
I've also got three layers on and heating isn't making much impression.
WARNING ! Er, it's winter. It might rain or snow. Don't panic.
I think since they brought amber red ect warnings it panics folk..How's about wake up and there's snow without the drama
Just how many of these camera-friendly young staff members do they have at the Met Office? With the BBC, we got used to one or two very familiar figures; now, we seem to have dozens of so-called meteorologists on call!
Didnt show nothing in south..just fast forward…to midlands
85% of the country wish it could be like that always.
Honor, why are the temperatures with negative numbers on east of England and entire Scotland and even Northern Ireland, while the rest are neutral zero degrees Celsius and even Baltasound has a negative four degrees? How it is so cold?
The entire UK is in Ice
Broken Britain x
For Surrey tomorrow Saturday light cloud and light winds no snow
The weather can be as cold as it wants when the presenter is smoking hot 🔥

You say there's snow and it's all rain. Tiny patches of snow. In amber and yellow.
Multiiple Met office warnings, not several then?

the last time we had an amber warning for snow in Wales it just drizzled and felt warm
I am surprised that it does not show how much rainfall in the initial phase in the western part of England, but the animation immediately jumps to the central and northern parts of Great Britain. Amateur
It’s because they don’t know yet if it’s rain or snow in the south
Amber warning totally wrong, not needed in such a huge swathe. Highly misleading, irresponsible reporting

It's all about the ice
