I’m speaking for myself and a lot others man love the videos and love the skills and knowledge you put out for us.. KEEP EM COMING. And can you please put a video out on your main hunting set up and why you choice your set up????
I've been using JB Weld super glue that comes with a brush cap kind of like nail polish. Phenomenal. Super easy, clean, and virtually no mess. I've used it with Bohning Blazers and TAC Drivers. With and without wraps.
With Tac drivers too no wrap?? Those gave me a ton of trouble and i used their primer pen, no wrap and the best glue ive found previous to doing the TAC vanes. Bob smith industries glue. Even made sure my Bitz was bang on the money and clamp was flush sanded that down, cut the front part of clamp off. Every trick in the book. Took 3 hours to fletch up and get 6 arrows completed and TAC vanes adhering well
@@critter852004 always used AAE with no issues. The TAC drivers are such an awesome vane especially long range but for me as an NorthEastern Whitetail hunter idk if the aggravation is worth it. I love how light and stiff they are tho. But man those were a nightmare. And im no rookie to building arrows. Super OCD and i did everything in my power to make the TACs a smooth process. Followed all their tips and videos and still on my Bitz jig with an AAE receiver it was a biatchhh
@@critter852004did everything in my power to make them adhere well with my Bitz and AAE receiver. And they were still a nightmare. I really like the stiffness and the light weight too but idk if its worth the trouble for me being a Northeastern whitetail hunter. No newbie to building and fletching arrows either. Everything ive built previous was AAE vanes and they were so easy in comparison
@dangler15 I've fletched probably well over 100 arrows using TAC vanes and a bitz, with and without wraps. I've never once had an issue. Are you soaking the vane with primer or pre priming well before trying to fletch? Either will cause issues with adhesion. Assuming you are getting good vane contact, I can't think of many other things that would be giving you so much trouble.
It's not. It just cures at a specific rate. It bonds to moisture on the surface, and usually humidity in the air is enough. That's why if you leave the cap off they'll cure sitting on the shelf. And in general they have a short shelf life because they can cure in the bottle.
Thanks Josh, appreciate your concise/honest review on this jig! I just need to come to your shop and buy one. A trip to your place is on my list, Portland, OR has 1 good shop, would love to see yours!
Ordered one of these a month ago from Podium and it said expected end of September hopefully they come in stock soon I'm excited to give it a try. I'm using a super old Cabelas jig now and it's a pain.
Would really like to see someone manufactre a fletching jig somewhat like an AZ ez fletch but with the option of max helical, and 2.5 degree offset left and right
@@Qbynordi I run the plastic AZ ez mini max right now and granted they are a little flimsy and not as precise, but they save so much time doing 3 vanes at once. Honestly I would take either but a metal one would be nice
I cannot get my vanes even with the ez fletch max mini. No matter how slow I go when closing the arms, they come out WAY off. I love how fast it fletches and the helical but after I have to re-fletch an arrow a couple of times to get it even, I’m actually losing time. Any tips or tricks?
Really happy to see you unpack this thing and give some impressions. Got mine last Saturday and I'm anxious to put it through the works. Indecently, have you seen that Striver quick release bino harness? Happy with my FHF, but that thing caught my eye.
You should do a retro bowtec review. Bowtec insanity cpx vs bowtec core ss. Thought it would be interesting to see how far they have come since 2012. Enjoy learning from your videos. Thanks
Have you ever reviewed blood sport arrows? Curious to hear your thoughts on the evidence arrow from their compound line. Side questions do you recommend fletching your own arrows?
Yeah I've been wanting one of these since I seen it in the magazine last year. Thanks for the review. Are you coming out with a fletching jig too yourself?
Which is better in your opinion the bitzenburger or the omp phoenix for someone that does there own arrows at home. Currently have the bitzenburger with the a&e upgraded receiver but thinking about trying a omp. My wife shoots a left helical and I shoot a right helical.
So what vane's can be done with a 5* helical with this jig?, I'm playing with bohning heat, tac driver 2.25, and super sabre mini's. It sounds like the 2.75" heat vane is too long to run much past 2 or 3* from what Josh said in this video but could the super sabre mini or 2.25" tac vanes work @5*? I waited until last June for this jig and ended up buying a bitz with both helical clamps. I then waited until 3 weeks ago and ended up buying an Arizone ez flech true helical all waiting for this jig to come out... But if I cant run 5* helical on the vanes I've settled on I don't regret my purchases.
I like the OMP products. Their only product that I haven't liked is their string level. Bought one, and it didn't jive with my Hamskea. Bought a second one, and it didn't jive either. I commented to a guy on a bow forum about his failure to tune his bow. He mentioned he was using the OMP level, and I advised him that my two were out of whack. He confirmed that his was too when he compared it with a friend's level. His nightmare ended. Not to rob this review of the jig, but just an FYI on the string level for anyone owning or looking to buy one. I mean, individual OMP levels may or may not be square.
Today I learned you're supposed to keep pressure on the bitz when gluing. I've always just pressed down for a few seconds and then let it sit for a few minutes before moving on to the next fletching.
Man , Ive been using Arizona easy flex , left , and been looking at upping my fletching , close to buying a bitz but this looks more user friendly for a novice like myself ... now im not sure which to get lol
I’m curious because I wanna know before I buy. I currently use the VMP I run silent knights at 5 degrees with that, would this jig be able to get close to recreating that type of fletch ? Just curious for the manipulation stand point. Day6 arrows
I’ve been trying to decide between the two myself. The one thing I don’t like about the LCA other than the price is that it doesn’t have markings as to where exactly to place the vanes between the two wires, at least that’s what was said on a TH-cam video I watched but it didn’t explain how to get the vanes to perfectly line up.
The problem with this is it’s still not level. Why does everyone make their fletchers at an angle? The glue will not stay even like it supposed to. I don’t under stand. I wonder if it is exactly to the degree like it’s supposed to be. I know for a fact that no bitz is exactly even like it’s supposed to be.
Ok I’ve got to be “that guy” 😂 Super glue (cyanoacrylate formulas) moisture activated, not pressure. Use of acetone-based accelerators speeds up the chemical destabilization and bond reaction.
I was told by the guy who owns TAC vanes that its actually activated and cured by the absence of air…which is particularly crucial for getting their pain in the ass to work with (yet awesome) Vanes to bond correctly
When do we get a look at the podium fletching jig you've had in the works?
Could you do a video on essentials to buy for a Home Archery Shop?

Love your content, learn something from every video of yours I watch, any chance you'll ever review the Dialed Archery Arxos?
Love my Bitzenburger but this fletcher looks pretty promising
Super sabres recommend 2.5 degrees. Since there is no half-degree setting, would you go for 2 or 3 degrees?
I got some 4 fletches flying like ABSOLUTE DARTS 🤓
Mini super sabers?

I am guessing like the Bitz, you have to choose: Left/Right/Straight. What are the cost of the different clamps compared to Bitz?
Just ordered one from you. It was showing in stock so my fingers are crossed it is.
Have you experienced trouble getting full vane contact when going past 1 degree offset with the left or right clamp?
Can you do a comparison of the other fletching jigs you have on the store? What the upsides and benefits vs downsides of them are?

Ok I’ve got to be “that guy” 😂 Super glue (cyanoacrylate formulas) moisture activated, not pressure. Use of acetone-based accelerators speeds up the chemical destabilization and bond reaction.
True, but you want pressure to get all the air pockets out and to spread the glue out evenly. You will get much better results with some pressure.
I was told by the guy who owns TAC vanes that its actually activated and cured by the absence of air…which is particularly crucial for getting their pain in the ass to work with (yet awesome) Vanes to bond correctly
@svaughn9530 Pressure also makes the glue layer thinner so it dries faster. Thinner layer of cyanoacrylate is allways keeping better than thick layer.
