    Which cities/towns did I miss?

      Ketchikan? I've heard nice things about it, although you do have the same issue with summer tourists as you would in Seward.

    The best place in Alaska to retire is, where you feel comfortable.

      That's a great way to put it!

      I would feel comfortable in tax-free community

    I've taken a look at Seward online and the housing options are almost nonexistent. Seems like it would be a very hard community to get into. On another note, something else you might talk about in future videos concerning retirement are places your dollar will go the furthest. Seems there are a lot of great communities to retire in but many of those places will burn thru everything you have saved up very quickly.

    I really love your content Jamin. My hubby and I are approaching 50 and hoping to retire (a little early) to AK in a year or two so I really appreciate your information. Could you tell us about the helicopter subscription service for healthcare emergencies?

      @alaska_realtor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Hmmm, you know I'm not really sure what all that entails, but I'm sure that you can find that pretty quickly with calling MatSu medical or Providence.

      What is a helicopter subscription? We're planning to move too. :)

      @@alaska_realtor I think 2000 was the population. I recall a small store, gas station, fire station and bar of course.

      It kinda depends on how remote you want to go and how extreme of weather you want to deal with. Where are yall coming from?

      @@alaska_realtor Multiple times over the years, most recently last June. I currently live in Colorado. I’m a cruise ship fanatic and think summers with ships and cold wet winters would be the best of both worlds. No SAD and live for rain! Anyway, I think Juneau is a great possibility for retirement within a year or two.

    I hate that people always base it in where there are hospitals! 🙄 I’m 61 my husband is 63 healthy no meds no health issues! You don’t have to be sick to be older or retire!

      Accidents happen to healthy and active retirees too . Just because people want to be near Medical services doesn't mean they are sick or unhealthy. To each there own. My 14 yo daughter died from an accident and we lived in the country and it took forever for an ambulance to get to us. We chose after that to be near Medical services because healthy people can have accidents !!

    These places are all crowded together in the south central area. This guy is ignoring 95% of the state!
