Thanks for this video. Reminds me once again the Chinatown of the Philippines. Although this is not as beautiful as in Los Angeles and San Francisco but the memories is most important. I love being in Ongpin St. to spend a half day enjoying the place and foods.

Overseas Chinese around the world all share similar history of oppression and discrimination, they also share the same history of hardwork, perseverance, trustworthy, and family it is this virtues that will see them prosper and rise up to success. Today's Tsinoys are where they are now thanks to their Tai-kong and Tai-ma's hardwork and discipline.

I hope they (govt and MMDA) clean up the appearance of Chinatown much more, it has the potential to be an even bigger tourist destination that it is at present.
Did Lim continue Atienza's plans to build a high-end outdoor shopping street there (similar to the " Bonifacio High Street" at Global City)??

I thought the Chinese and the Chinese decent people in the Philippines are suppose to be rich, why cant' they fix this area, and make it more beautiful. I would go there if it was fixed.

@dann4169: That's true! All the countries that are have Chinese/Confucian values (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam) are major Asian economies or New Tiger-economies, because being successful in Business is a big part of their cultures...
Sadly the Philippines, due to the Spanish, is full of the lazy "Manana" and "Pwede na" attitudes: Juan Tamad territory! lol

omygosh -_- You can't actually claim every Filipino has chinese blood about 2 million Filipinos are pure or 50% Chinese and most of them don't become OFWs. We don't look like Indians or Egyptians, the whole Filipino population is a mix of European/South American/North American/Thai/Indonesian/Malay/Okinawan/Arab/Thai/Chinese and many more blood lines. No one said many Filipinos have Chinese blood, only some do. Chinese blood doesn't die out easily, did you even visit the Phils by a chance? -_-

We are related to Chinese and Malay as well as other local Austro-Asian groups. Spain just tried to destroy that all.
