Furius Baco night ride is the most underrated thing ever
I had my first visit last week, and loved it. Shambhala definitely jumped straight to the top of my list. Although I was gutted the splash down wasn’t working :( had front and back row rides, and they were both completely different. I think back won it by a nose.
Yeah the back is better for that incredible first drop! Although it's debatable which end has the most airtime overall 🙂 I'm completely torn between the back or front.
I returned from a trip to salou yesterday and I have to be honest idk where the dragon khan hate has come from the outer seats were a slight bit more rough but overall its still a top 5 ride in the park for me, Stampida was 10 times more painful for me and my brothers lower areas lol
stampida’s red train doesn’t hurt as bad! The issue is with the blue one, after trying it we had sore legs 😭
I couldn't believe how rough dragon Khan is now. I remember it being so smooth last time I went over 20 years ago. Shambalha is so good, I've not been on another ride like it. Great review.
And that’s why Shambala is my fav coaster 😎 I literally have a t-shirt that says I survived shambala 😭✨✨

That log flume was surprisingly a lot more wet than I expected.
Mainly the smaller drops though from my experience 🤣👍

Brilliant video! I visited the park a fair few years ago, with a fear of rollercoasters in tow. A push and a “we’re only coming here once” pep talk off my big sister and I was shitting myself in the queue for Dragon Khan. Eyes kept firmly shit for the entire lift hill, told to open them at the top and the rest is history! I owe that coaster (and my sister) so much. For all I know, I may still be scared of coasters without it.
I must go back as an adult!

Thank you so much!! 😁❤️ Honestly, I had Dragon Khan as my number 1 Roller Coaster in an old Top 10 of mine from like 2007 🤣 I owe a lot to it as well. Although Hurakan Condor helped overcome my fear of heights, sorta... Because it still terrifies me to this day 😂
I agree with you when you say shambala is no1 honestly one of the best coasters I’ve ever ridden
I agree, it olso was my first big roller coaster, i was shitring my pants on the lift hill, and that same thay i went on it 5 times
I rode Khan last year, it was great! I loved it! I didn't have any roughness. Yea, disorienting, but still fun. Also, Stampida is worse than any flat ride or kiddie ride. Stampida was one of two roller coaster I've ever ridden that genuinely hurt. It was so rough, despicable painful, disgustingly rough. By far, the worst thing I've ever ridden. The roughest thing I've ever ridden. And I've ridden both Bandit at Movie Park Germany and El Condor at Walibi Holland, the original SLC I believe. Also, I've only ridden Red, but I've heard it's the worse one. Stampida needs to be demolished or RMC'd
when i rode stampida it was rough and bumpy but wasn’t painful

Canoes was my favourite ride of all time when I was younger. It was always quiet and used to be able to have the whole ride to myself.
I am really enjoying these lists! I think you are the only one (for the european parks) that's taking these kinds of lists seriously, other people just mindlessly shove all rollercoasters in the top spots..!

One Palmer Road Stampeders on the blue side it was terrible. The side is a lot better. It wasn’t smooth but it felt more like Wickham but bigger.
Yeah I wrote that Super Bowl and it wasn’t very good, Super Bowls really rely heavily on how fast they are run at, if they run fast enough then the cars flip round properly, but that thing was far too slow.
I was so scared when he said "Red force... junior" I THOUGHT HE SAID RED FORCE SUCKED

Awesome video man! Comes perfectly in time for my visit in around 2 weeks time! What would be your advice for a first timer for PortAventura? Which ride should I do first to avoid queues?
My recommendation on most Port Aventura rides would be to ride on the Single Rider Lane. There are very little people in the lane due to everyone wanting to ride in a group. Me and my friends always take Single Rider Lane and sometimes we even end up sitting together. The other day we rode Red Force 4 Times in 9 minutes in Single Rider Lane whilst there was a estimated waiting time of 2 hours on the normal Lane. People usually dont know the Single Rider Lane so I would highly recommend using it. You save yourself from wasting 80 euros. As Rides, I would first go to the Freefall Huracan Condor as everyone goes to Shambala or Furius Baco. Furius Baco is the one with most Waiting Time. Try riding Shambala or Dragon Khan during lunch time and Furious Baco around 4 - 5 pm. And in this summer time, I would highly recommend going on the Logs water ride because you get wet and refreshing.

I feel like Dragon Khan would be much better if they switched to vest restraints so your head isn't being pinballed against the restraints non-stop. I've ridden a ton of coasters all around the world and Dragon Khan is easily among the most unpleasant (alongside Furius Baco, which is a veritable torture machine).
Shambala is definitely a top-notch rollercoaster though. Probably the best of its kind I've been on. Sure beats Mako at Sea World Orlando and Silver Star at Europa Park.

I'm right at 195cm without shoes. Does anyone know how strict they are with the max height requirement? I'm 6'5" and will try to speak with supervisor to please let me ride if they have a height stick. For whatever reason, Europe loves the "195" cm max height for being tall instead of 200cm. Will I have trouble on some rides trying to get on?
Dragon Khan shoulder restraints are a problem. My head smacks against them and I get a headache...
I love the china section, it's the best place in Portaventura.

I might have been lucky but I did 3 rides of Dragon Khan last month (2024) and it was fantastic, not the smoothest, but totally ok and 100% enjoyable ! If you go, ride it, it's a great 30yo coaster
Dragon Khan was closed for the whole 3 days i was there last year :( Loved Shammy B though my number 1
Also i the smell of cookies in Sesame Street Mission is an amazing touch and made it my fav dark ride

Furious baco is more like Furious backache, last rode it with my brother in 2016 , I got off it ok , my brother suffered serious whiplash

I still love Dragon Khan ! This video was in 2022 -- maybe it's had some retracking or smoother wheels on the trains - but I still think it's great !!

Great video but the drop of Red Force is un published. Its height is 367' but its drop is estimated to be about 338'. TTD's height is 420 and its drop is 400'; Kingda Ka's height is 456' but its drop is 418'. Even though I've not been there I'd imagine Shambala to have one of if not the best drop of any coaster any of the four seats in the back car due to it's long trains, 256' drop and 77 degree max. angle of descent. Thanks for this great video!

Dragon Khan really isn’t that bad, you need to keep you head forward, but in the front, nothing and it’s a very fun & intense ride!

My first ride on shambala was a back seat ride and since my friend who sit next me doesn’t intense or crazy rides, she hated ut

Can't believe Furius Bacco is higher than Dragon Khan. Furius Bacco is unrideable from fourth row down. And also hurts way more than Dragon Khan. Hell, Stampida hurts more than Furius Bacco or Dragon Khan. Also, Dragon Khan has been critizised for being rough in the past 3 years or so, but when we went back in September 2022, it was fiiiiine. At least Shambala is on the first place which is where it belongs and couldn't be any other way haha.
Baco is definitely a marmite coaster haha 👍 I have a soft spot for it though 🙂

I love portaventura! I've been a couple of times on holiday. My favourite is definitely furius bacco. So much fun!
Furius Baco is awesome! It's all about that launch into the drop, gets me every time!

Screwyloops, i am spanish and there is a smaller park on madrid called parque warner, and there is a BIGGER free fall tower, is the same height as red force, i got scared at seeing it and did not ride, but i recommend you try it

I went in June 2024. Dragon Khan was so smooth when it first opened but its a real brain rattler now. Shambala definitely up there but Red Force is top notch, especially if you get to the front 🥽

El Diablo is awesome, one of my faves. Stanpeda and dragon khan are agony to ride! Shambala is awesome!
Having been on dragon khan last week it was a surprise how smooth that ride actually is. I never felt one bump. If you’ve ever been on infusion at Blackpool or the Big Dipper that is true destruction of your body.
That Dragon Khan ride reminds me of Kumba at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida.
